أخبرني عبد الله بن الحسين القاضي بمَرْو، حَدَّثَنَا الحارث بن أبي أسامة، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْح بن عُبادة، حَدَّثَنَا زكريا بن إسحاق المكِّي، عن عمرو بن دِينار، عن عطاءٍ (1)، عن ابن عبّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ﴾ [النجم: 32]، يُلِمُّ بها ثم يتوبُ منها، قال ابن عَبَّاس: كان النَّبِيّ ﷺ يقول: "إنْ تَغفِرِ اللهمَّ تَغفِرْ جَمّا … وأيُّ عبدٍ لكَ لا أَلمّا" (2)
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, except for minor slips" [Surah al-Najm: 32], that (al-lamam refers to a sin) which a person commits occasionally and then repents from. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say these words: 'In taghfiri Allahumma taghfir jamma, wa ayyu 'abdin laka la alamma' (O Allah, if You forgive, You forgive abundantly, and which servant of Yours is there who has not committed some slip or minor sin?).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

أخبرنا أبو زكريا العَنبَري، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن عبد السلام، حَدَّثَنَا إسحاق، أخبرنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن الأعمش، عن أبي الضُّحى، عن مسروق، أنَّ ابن مسعود قال في قوله ﷿: ﴿إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ﴾، قال: زنى العين النَّظَرُ، وزنى الشَّفَتين التقبيلُ، وزنى اليدين البطشُ، وزنى الرِّجلين المشيُ، ويصدِّقُ ذلك أو يكذِّبُه الفَرْجُ، فإن تقدَّم بفَرْجِه كان زانيًا، وإلَّا فهو اللَّمَمُ (3).

It is narrated from Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "except for minor slips (al-lamam)" [Surah al-Najm: 32]: "The adultery of the eye is looking, the adultery of the lips is kissing, the adultery of the hands is grasping (touching), and the adultery of the feet is walking (towards a wrong purpose); and the private part confirms all of that or denies it. So if he goes forward with his private part, he is an adulterer; otherwise it is 'al-lamam' (a minor sin)."

حَدَّثَنَا الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا عُبيد بن شَريك البزّار، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن عبد الله بن بُكَير، حَدَّثَنَا الليث بن سعد، عن ابن عَجْلان، عن القعقاع بن حَكيم، عن أبي صالح، عن أبي هريرة، عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "على كلِّ نفس من ابن آدم كُتِبَ حظٌّ من الزنى أَدرَكَ ذلك لا مَحالةَ، فالعينُ زِناها النظرُ، والرِّجلُ زناها المشيُ، والأُذنُ زناها الاستماعُ، واليدُ زناها البطشُ واللِّسانُ زناه الكلامُ، والقلبُ أن يتمنَّى، ويصدِّق ذلك أو يكذِّبُه الفَرْجُ" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For every individual among the children of Adam, a share of adultery has been written, which he will inevitably attain. So the adultery of the eye is looking, the adultery of the foot is walking, the adultery of the ear is listening, the adultery of the hand is grasping, the adultery of the tongue is speaking, and the part of the heart is to desire and wish; and the private part confirms all of that or denies it."
