It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying concerning this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "Among them is one who wrongs himself, among them is one who is moderate, and among them is one who is foremost in good deeds" [Surah Fatir: 32]: "The one foremost in good deeds (sabiq) and the moderate one (muqtasid) will enter Paradise without reckoning, while the one who wrongs himself (zalim li-nafsihi) will be given an easy reckoning, and then he too will enter Paradise." There is a difference among the narrations from Imam al-A'mash regarding the chain of this hadith: Imam al-Thawri narrated it from al-A'mash, through Abu Thabit, from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him); according to one statement, al-Thawri narrated it from al-A'mash, from Abu Thabit, from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him); and according to another statement, Imam Shu'bah narrated it from al-A'mash, from a man of the tribe of Thaqif, from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him). And when the narrations of a hadith are this numerous, it becomes clear that the hadith has an authentic basis.

Hadith Grading

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). Uqbah bin Suhban al-Huddani says: I said to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): O Mother of the Believers, what is your view about this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "Then We gave the Book as inheritance to those whom We chose from among Our servants; among them is one who wrongs himself, among them is one who is moderate, and among them is one who is foremost in good deeds by the permission of Allah. That is the great bounty." [Surah Fatir: 32]? Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: As for the sabiq (the ones who are foremost), they are those who passed away during the blessed lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) bore witness for them that they are alive and receive provision. As for the muqtasid (those on the middle path), they are the people who followed in the footsteps of those (foremost ones) and did deeds like theirs until they joined them. And as for "the one who wrongs himself," it means people like me, like you, and those who follow us; and all of them will be in Paradise.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Grading

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "Gardens of Eden, which they will enter; they will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold" [Surah Fatir: 33], and then said: "On the heads of these people of Paradise will be crowns, and even the lowest-ranking pearl set in them will light up with its radiance the distance between the East and the West."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, as Abu al-Abbas has transmitted, through al-Duri, this statement of Yahya bin Ma'in: The most authentic chain of the Egyptians is Amr, from Darraj, from Abu al-Haytham, from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him).
