It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When we narrate a hadith to you, we also present its confirmation from the Book of Allah. Indeed, when a servant says: 'Subhan Allah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, wa tabarak Allah' (Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, there is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and blessed is Allah), an angel takes hold of these words, gathers them beneath his wings and flies upward with them. Whatever gathering of angels he passes by, those angels seek forgiveness for the one who said these words, until through these words access is gained to the presence of the Most Merciful. Then Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: "To Him ascend the good words, and righteous deeds raise them." [Fatir: 10]
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I came with my father to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). My father greeted him (peace and blessings be upon him) with peace, and we sat for a while talking. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked my father: "Is this your son?" He said: Yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked again: "Really?" He said: I bear witness to it. The narrator says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled because of the strength of the resemblance between me and my father and because of my father's firm oath upon it. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Know that this son of yours will not be held responsible for any crime of yours, nor will you be held responsible for any crime of his." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited these verses: "And no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another" [Surah al-An'am: 164], up to this saying of his: "This (Messenger) is a warner among the warners of old." [Surah al-Najm: 56]

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: When the surah "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" was revealed, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All of this (teaching) is also present in the scriptures of Ibrahim (peace be upon him)." Then when the surah "By the star when it descends" was revealed and he (peace and blessings be upon him) reached this point: "And Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who fulfilled (his obligations)" [al-Najm: 37], he said: "He fulfilled (his obligations)," meaning he discharged all the responsibilities from "that no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another" up to this saying: "This (Messenger) is a warner among the warners of old" [al-Najm: 38-56].
