أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدثنا أحمد بن مِهْران، حدثنا أبو نُعيم، حدثنا مِسعَر، عن سعيد بن أبي بُرْدة، عن أبيه، قال: صلَّيتُ إلى جَنْب ابن عمرَ العصرَ فسمعتُه يقول في ركوعه: ﴿رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِلْمُجْرِمِينَ﴾ [القصص: 17]، فلما انصرف قال: ما صلَّيتُ صلاةً إِلَّا وأنا أرجو أن تكون كَفَّارةً للَّتي أمامَها (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). Abu Burdah says: I prayed the Asr prayer beside him and heard him reciting this verse in his bowing (ruku'): "My Lord, because of the favour You have bestowed upon me, I will never be a supporter of the criminals" [Surah al-Qasas: 17]. When he finished the prayer, he said: "Every prayer I have prayed, I hope that it will be an expiation for the prayer before it."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

حدثنا أبو بكر أحمد بن كامل القاضي ببغداد، حدثنا محمد بن سعد العَوْفي، حدثنا رَوْح بن عُبادة، حدثنا عوف، عن أبي نَضْرة، عن أبي سعيد الخُدْري، عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "ما أهلَكَ اللهُ قومًا ولا قَرْنًا ولا أُمّةً ولا أهلَ قريةٍ، منذُ أنزل اللهُ التوراةَ على وجه الأرض، بعذابٍ من السماء غيرَ القرية التي مُسِخَت قِرَدةً، ألم ترَ إلى قوله: ﴿وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ الْأُولَى بَصَائِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ﴾ [القصص: 43] " (1). صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Since Allah Almighty sent down the Torah on the face of the earth, Allah has not destroyed any people, generation, nation or the inhabitants of any town with a punishment from the sky, except the town that was transformed into apes. Have you not seen this statement (of the Qur'an): 'And We certainly gave Musa the Book after We had destroyed the former generations, as insight for the people, and guidance and mercy, so that they may take heed' [Surah al-Qasas: 43]?"

حدثنا أبو الوليد الفقيه، حدثنا الحسن بن سفيان الشَّيباني، حدثنا عُقْبة بن مُكرَم الضَّبِّي، حدثنا أبو قَطَن عَمْرو بن الهيثم بن قَطَن بن كعب، حدثنا حمزة الزَّيّات، عن سليمان الأعمش، عن علي بن مُدرِك، عن أبي زُرْعة، عن أبي هريرة، ﴿وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الطُّورِ إِذْ نَادَيْنَا﴾ القصص: 46]، قال: نُودُوا: يا أُمَّةَ محمدٍ، استجبتُ لكم قبلَ أن تَدْعُوني، وأعطيتُكم قبلَ أن تَسألُوني (2).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning this saying of Allah Almighty, "And you were not at the side of the Mount when We called" [Surah al-Qasas: 46], that he said: (At that time) it was called out: "O Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! I responded to you before you called upon Me, and I gave to you before you asked of Me."
