Abu Ubaydah bin Muhammad bin Ammar bin Yasir narrates from his father; he said: The idolaters seized Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) and did not let him go until he reviled the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and spoke well of their gods; then they released him. When he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What news do you bring?" He said: "Bad news, O Messenger of Allah! I was not released until I spoke ill of you and praised their gods." He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "How do you find your heart?" He said: "At rest with faith." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If they do it again, then you too do it again."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "Only a human being teaches him. The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign, and this is a clear Arabic tongue." [Surah al-Nahl: 103] He said: "The idolaters used to say that the slave of Ibn al-Hadrami teaches Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was a man with knowledge of the scriptures. So Allah Almighty said: 'The tongue of the one they refer to (as his teacher) is foreign, and this (Qur'an) is a clear Arabic tongue.' [Surah al-Nahl: 103] And He further said: 'It is only those who do not believe in the signs of Allah who fabricate falsehood.' [Surah al-Nahl: 105]"
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), and the two Shaykhs did not record it. And it has been narrated to us from Sufyan bin Uyaynah that he recited this verse and cited it as evidence against liars:

(1). It is narrated from Abdullah bin al-Zubayr al-Humaydi; he said: We were sitting with Sufyan bin Uyaynah in Masjid al-Khayf at Mina when suddenly a storyteller stood up and said: "Sufyan bin Uyaynah narrated to us from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both)," then he began telling a long story. Hearing this, Sufyan bin Uyaynah stood up and, leaning on his staff, said: "'It is only those who do not believe in the signs of Allah who fabricate falsehood.' [Surah al-Nahl: 105] I have never narrated this, nor do I know it."

It is narrated from Abu Sadiq; he said that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Soon you will be pressured to revile me, so revile me; but if you are pressured to declare disassociation (bara'ah) from me, then do not declare disassociation from me, for I am upon Islam. So let one of you stretch out his neck (to be killed), may his mother be bereaved of him, for after Islam he has neither this world nor the Hereafter." Then Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: "Except one who is compelled while his heart is at rest with faith." [Surah al-Nahl: 106]
