حدثني علي بن حَمْشَاذَ العَدْل، حدثنا إسماعيل بن إسحاق القاضي وهشام بن علي السَّدُوسي، قالا: حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل، حدثنا صَدَقة بن موسى، عن محمد بن واسع، عن سُمَير، عن أبي هريرة، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "إِنَّ ربَّكم تعالى يقول: لو أنَّ عبادي أَطاعوني لَأسقيتُهم المطرَ بالليل وأَطلعتُ عليهم الشمسَ بالنهار، ولم أُسمِعْهم صوتَ الرَّعْد" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, your Lord Almighty says: If My servants obeyed Me, I would give them rain to drink by night and make the sun rise upon them by day, and I would not make them hear the sound of thunder."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق الصَّغَاني، حدثنا رَوْح بن عُبادة، حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، عن سليمان التَّيْمي، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس في قول الله ﷿: ﴿يَمْحُو اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ﴾ [الرعد: 39]: من أحد الكتابَينِ، هما كتابان يَمحُو اللهُ ما يشاء من أحدِهما ويُثبِت، ﴿وَعِنْدَهُ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ﴾ أي: جُمْلةُ الكتاب (2). قد احتجَّ مسلمٌ بحمَّاد واحتجَّ البخاري بعِكْرمة، وهو غريب صحيح من حديث سليمان التيمي، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), regarding this saying of Allah Almighty: "Allah erases what He wills" [Surah al-Ra'd: 39], that he said: "(This erasing) is from one of two books. They are two books: from one of them Allah erases what He wills and keeps (what He wills). And 'With Him is the Mother of the Book' means that the original Book is with Him."
Imam Muslim used Hammad as evidence and Imam Bukhari used Ikrimah as evidence, and this is gharib (unusual) and sahih (authentic) as a hadith of Sulayman al-Taymi, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
