It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), regarding this saying of Allah Almighty: "Allah erases what He wills" [Surah al-Ra'd: 39], that he said: "(This erasing) is from one of two books. They are two books: from one of them Allah erases what He wills and keeps (what He wills). And 'With Him is the Mother of the Book' means that the original Book is with Him."
Imam Muslim used Hammad as evidence and Imam Bukhari used Ikrimah as evidence, and this is gharib (unusual) and sahih (authentic) as a hadith of Sulayman al-Taymi, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is da'if because of a break (inqita'); Sulayman al-Taymi (Ibn Tarkhan) did not hear anything from 'Ikrimah. Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi recorded it in "al-Qada' wa al-Qadar" (255) from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain. Reference / Source: Al-Tabari recorded it in his "Tafsir" (13/ 167) through two routes from Hammad bin Salamah in the same way.
