Mustadrak al-Hakim 3373 — Caution is of no avail against decree

اردو

حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، حدثنا حامد بن محمود، حدثنا إسحاق بن سليمان الرازي، حدثنا حنظلة، عن طاووس، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: لا يَنفعُ الحذرُ من القَدَر، ولكنَّ الله يَمحُو بالدعاءِ ما يشاء من القَدَر (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "Caution against destiny is of no benefit, but Allah Almighty erases through supplication whatever He wills of destiny."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده صحيح. حامد بن محمود: هو ابن حرب النيسابوري المقرئ، وحنظلة: هو ابن أبي سفيان الجمحي.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Note / Clarification: Hamid bin Mahmud: he is Ibn Harb al-Naysaburi al-Muqri'; and Hanzalah: he is Ibn Abi Sufyan al-Jumahi.
وأخرجه البيهقي في "القضاء والقدر" (254) عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Al-Bayhaqi recorded it in "al-Qada' wa al-Qadar" (254) from Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim with this same chain.
