Tafsir of Surah al-Nisa

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "Ask me about Surah al-Nisa', for I read the Qur'an when I was still a child."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty, "And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and (beware of severing) the ties of kinship" [Surah Al-Nisa': 1], that he said: "Indeed, ties of kinship are severed and blessings are met with ingratitude, but when Allah Almighty brings hearts close together, nothing can ever separate them." Then he recited this verse: "If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have brought their hearts together" [Surah Al-Anfal: 63]. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The womb (ties of kinship) is a branch from al-Rahman (the Most Merciful). It will come on the Day of Resurrection speaking with an eloquent and fluent tongue. Whoever it points to (before Allah) for joining, Allah will join him (to His mercy), and whoever it points to for severing, Allah will sever him (from His mercy)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it with this wording.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that some (unpleasant) words passed between Sayyiduna Abu Talhah and Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with them both), upon which Abu Talhah intended to divorce her. This news reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, divorcing Umm Sulaym is a great sin."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
