It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that some (unpleasant) words passed between Sayyiduna Abu Talhah and Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with them both), upon which Abu Talhah intended to divorce her. This news reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, divorcing Umm Sulaym is a great sin."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is da'if because of the weakness of Ali bin Asim, and al-Dhahabi declared it feeble in his "Talkhis". Reference / Source: Al-Bazzar (6620) and Ibn Adi in "al-Kamil" (5/ 193) recorded it by way of Muhammad bin Harb al-Wasiti, from Ali bin Asim, with this chain. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is a report from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) with al-Tabarani (12876): that Abu Ayyub divorced his wife, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The divorce of Umm Ayyub was a sin (hub)." Grading: Its chain is da'if. It is also narrated as mursal in Abu Dawud's "al-Marasil" (233) from the hadith of Anas bin Sirin, who said: It reached me that Abu Ayyub intended to divorce Umm Ayyub … and he mentioned it; and its narrators are thiqah. Note / Clarification: "الحُوب" means desolation or sin, as Ibn al-Athir said in "al-Nihayah". He said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) counted it a sin for him to divorce her only because she was a source of good for him in his religion.
