It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was thrown into the fire, his last words were: 'Hasbiyallahu wa ni'mal wakil' (Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best Disposer of affairs). And your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said similar words: "Those to whom the people said, 'Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.' It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: By Allah, besides whom there is no god! There is no soul on the face of the earth except that death is better for it (than life). For if he is a believer, Allah Almighty says: "But those who fear their Lord will have gardens beneath which rivers flow" [Surah Al Imran: 198]; and if he is a wrongdoer, Allah Almighty says: "We only grant them respite so that they may increase in sin" [Surah Al Imran: 178].
