حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب حدثنا أبو البَختَري عبد الله بن محمد بن شاكر، حدثنا أبو أسامة، عن عبد الملك بن أبي سليمان، عن سعيد بن جُبَير، عن ابن عمر قال: أُنزلت حيثُما ﴿فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ﴾ [البقرة: 115]: أن تُصلِّيَ حيثُما توجَّهَت بك راحلتُك في التطوُّع (3). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه!
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the verse, "So wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah" [Surah al-Baqarah: 115], was revealed about this: that in voluntary prayer you may pray on your mount facing whichever direction your mount is facing.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

أخبرني محمد بن إسحاق العَدْل، حدثنا أحمد بن نَصْر، حدثنا عمرو ابن طلحة القنَّاد، حدثنا أسباط بن نَصْر، عن السُّدِّي، عن أبي مالك، عن ابن عبَّاس في قول الله: ﴿الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَتْلُونَهُ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِ﴾ [البقرة: 121] قال: يُحِلُّون حلالَه، ويُحرِّمون حرامَه، ولا يُحرِّفونه عن مواضعِه (1). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah, "Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recitation" [Surah al-Baqarah: 121], that he said: (Its true recitation is that) they regard what it makes lawful as lawful and what it makes unlawful as unlawful, and they do not alter its words from their proper places.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

[حدَّثَنا أبو زكريا العَنبَري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدثنا إسحاق ابن إبراهيم، حدثنا عبد الرزاق، حدثنا مَعمَر، عن عبد الله] (2) بن طاووس، عن أبيه، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ﴾ [البقرة: 124] قال: ابتلاه بالطَّهارة: خمسٌ في الرأس، وخمسٌ في الجسد؛ في الرأس: قصُّ الشارب، والمضمضةُ والاستنشاقُ، والسِّواكُ، وفَرْقُ الرأس، وفي الجسد: تقليمُ الأظفار، وحَلْقُ العانةِ، والخِتانُ، ونَتْفُ الإبْط، وغسلُ مكانِ الغائط والبول بالماء (3). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, "And when his Lord tested Ibrahim with certain words" [Surah al-Baqarah: 124], that Allah tested him with ten practices of purification: five in the head and five in the rest of the body. In the head: trimming the moustache, rinsing the mouth, rinsing the nose with water, using the tooth-stick (miswak), and parting the hair of the head. In the body: clipping the nails, shaving the pubic hair, circumcision, plucking the armpit hair, and washing the places of urine and stool with water (istinja').
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.
