[حدَّثَنا أبو زكريا العَنبَري، حدثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدثنا إسحاق ابن إبراهيم، حدثنا عبد الرزاق، حدثنا مَعمَر، عن عبد الله] (2) بن طاووس، عن أبيه، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ﴾ [البقرة: 124] قال: ابتلاه بالطَّهارة: خمسٌ في الرأس، وخمسٌ في الجسد؛ في الرأس: قصُّ الشارب، والمضمضةُ والاستنشاقُ، والسِّواكُ، وفَرْقُ الرأس، وفي الجسد: تقليمُ الأظفار، وحَلْقُ العانةِ، والخِتانُ، ونَتْفُ الإبْط، وغسلُ مكانِ الغائط والبول بالماء (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, "And when his Lord tested Ibrahim with certain words" [Surah al-Baqarah: 124], that Allah tested him with ten practices of purification: five in the head and five in the rest of the body. In the head: trimming the moustache, rinsing the mouth, rinsing the nose with water, using the tooth-stick (miswak), and parting the hair of the head. In the body: clipping the nails, shaving the pubic hair, circumcision, plucking the armpit hair, and washing the places of urine and stool with water (istinja').
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(2) مكان ما بين المعقوفين بياض في النسخ الخطية، واستدركناه من "السنن الكبرى" للبيهقي 1/ 149، حيث رواه عن المصنف بإسناده ومتنه.
Note / Clarification: In the place between the square brackets there is a blank space in the manuscripts, which we have supplied (istidrak) from al-Bayhaqi's "al-Sunan al-Kubra" 1/ 149, where he narrated it from the author (al-Hakim) with his chain and text.
(3) إسناده صحيح.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
وهو في "تفسير عبد الرزاق" 1/ 57، ومن طريقه أخرجه الطبري في "تفسيره" 1/ 524، وكذا ابن أبي حاتم 1/ 219.
Reference / Source: It is in "Tafsir Abd al-Razzaq" 1/ 57, and via his route al-Tabari recorded it in his "Tafsir" 1/ 524, and likewise Ibn Abi Hatim in 1/ 219.
وروي عن ابن عبَّاس في تفسير هذه الآية أقوال أخرى كما سيأتي عند المصنف برقم (3795) و (4071) و (4094).
Details of the narration: Other statements are also narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) on the interpretation of this verse, as will come later with the author (al-Hakim) at numbers (3795), (4071) and (4094).
