أخبرنا أبو أحمد بكر بن محمد الصَّيرفي بمَرْو، حدثنا إبراهيم بن هِلال، حدثنا علي بن الحَسن بن شقيق، حدثنا الحُسين بن واقِد، حدثني عبد الله بن بُريدة، عن أبيه: أنَّ رجلًا أتى النبيَّ ﷺ بحِمار وهو يمشي، فقال: اركَبْ يا رسول الله، فقال: "إنَّ صاحبَ الدابَّةِ أحقُّ بصَدْرِ دابَّتِه إلّا أن تجعلَه لي" قال: قد فَعَلْتُ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a donkey while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was walking. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, please ride." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The owner of the animal has more right to ride on its front part (sadr), unless you give that place to me." He said: "I have done so (that is, I have given the place to you)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 2402

حدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه وعلي بن حَمْشاذَ العَدْل، قالا: حدثنا عُبيد بن عبد الواحد، حدثنا سعيد بن أبي مريم، أخبرنا يحيى بن أيوب، أخبرني عمرو بن الحارث، أن بكر بن سَوَادة أخبره عن أبي سالم الجَيْشاني، عن زيد بن خالد الجُهَني، أَنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "مَن آوى ضالَّةً فهو ضالٌّ ما لم يُعرِّفْها" (2). صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه!

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever gives shelter to a stray animal (and does not announce it) is himself astray, as long as he does not (properly) announce it."
Its chain is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
