It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep up the recitation of this Qur'an, for it escapes (from the breasts); it escapes from people's breasts faster than a camel escapes from its tethering ropes. And let none of you ever say: I have forgotten such-and-such a verse; rather (let him say that) he was made to forget it."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was reciting on the roof of his house, and he had a very beautiful voice. He came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I was reciting when suddenly something like a cloud covered me. My wife was in the house and the horse was tied in the courtyard, and I feared that (if the horse bolted) my wife might get hurt or the horse might break loose, so I stopped reciting. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "O Usayd, you should have kept reciting, for they were angels who had come to listen to the Qur'an."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then he mentioned a similar hadith, in which it is stated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Usayd, you should have kept reciting! O Usayd, you should have kept reciting! For they were angels listening to the Qur'an."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.
