أخبرنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا الحسن بن علي بن زياد، حدثنا إبراهيم بن موسى، حدثنا وَكِيع، عن شُعْبة، عن قَتَادة، عن أنس قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "مِن حُسْن الصلاة إقامةُ الصفِّ" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، وإنما اتَّفقا على غير هذا اللفظ، وهو أنَّ تَسوِيةَ الصفِّ من تَمَام الصلاة.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Straightening the rows is part of the excellence of the prayer."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim; they both agreed only upon the wording that making the rows even is part of the completion of the prayer.

حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن نُصَير الخُلْدي، حدثنا الحارث بن أبي أسامة، حدثنا عبد الله بن بكر السَّهْمي، حدثنا هشام الدَّستُوائي، عن يحيى بن أبي كثير، عن محمد بن إبراهيم بن الحارث، عن خالد بن مَعْدان، عن العِرْباض بن سارِيَة: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ كان يستغفرُ للصفِّ المقدَّمِ ثلاثًا، وللثاني مرَّةً (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد على الوجوه كلِّها، إلّا أنَّ الشيخين لم يُخرجاه لعِلَّة الرواية عن العِرْباض، وهو مما قدَّمتُ فيه القولَ.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek forgiveness three times for those in the first row and once for those in the second row.
This hadith has an authentic chain (sahih al-isnad) in all its aspects, but the two Shaykhs left it because of a hidden defect ('illah) in the narration from Sayyiduna al-Irbad (may Allah be pleased with him), which has already been mentioned.

هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، فقد احتَجَّ بحديث الأسود بن العلاء عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة: "البئرُ جُبَارٌ" (3)، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you performs ablution (wudu) well and then goes out for the prayer, with nothing but the prayer taking him to the mosque, his left foot keeps erasing his sins and his right foot keeps recording a good deed for him, until he enters the mosque."
