حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا يحيى بن أبي طالب، حدثنا أبو علي عُبيد الله بن عبد المجيد الحَنَفي، حدثنا ابن أبي ذِئْب، عن الأسوَد بن العلاء بن جاريَةَ الثَّقَفي، عن أبي سَلَمة، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "مِن حين يَخرُج أحدُكم من منزلِه إلى مسجدِه فرِجلٌ تكتب حَسَنةً، وأخرى تَمحُو سيئةً" (2). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، فقد احتَجَّ بحديث الأسود بن العلاء عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة: "البئرُ جُبَارٌ" (3)، ولم يُخرجاه. Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you goes out from his house towards the mosque, one of his feet records a good deed and the other erases a sin."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد قوي. Grading: (2) The hadith is sahih and its chain is strong. وأخرجه أحمد 14/ (8257) و 15/ (9575) و 16/ (10203)، والنسائي (786)، وابن حبان (1622) من طرق عن ابن أبي ذئب، بهذا الإسناد. Reference / Source: Ahmad (14/8257 etc.), al-Nasa'i (786) and Ibn Hibban (1622) narrated it through various routes from Ibn Abi Dhi'b. وهو بمعناه عند البخاري (477) و (647)، ومسلم (661) (272) من طريق أبي صالح، عن أبي هريرة، وانظر "مسند أحمد" 12/ (7430). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This narration is found with the same meaning in al-Bukhari (477, 647) and Muslim (661) with the chain of Abu Salih from Abu Hurayrah.
(3) هو عند مسلم برقم (1710) (46)، وقد أخرجه هو أيضًا والبخاري (1499) و (6912) من طريق ابن شهاب الزهري عن أبي سلمة - وقرنا به سعيد بن المسيب - عن أبي هريرة. Reference / Source: (3) This is in Imam Muslim at number (1710); he and Imam al-Bukhari (1499) narrated it with the chain of al-Zuhri from Abu Salamah and Sa'id bin al-Musayyab from Abu Hurayrah.
