أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الزاهد الأصبهاني، حدثنا أحمد بن مِهْران بن خالد الأصبهاني، حدثنا عُبيد الله بن موسى، حدثنا إسرائيل، عن سِمَاك، عن جابر بن سَمُرة قال: كان النبي الله ﷺ يصلي نحوًا من صلاتِكم، ولكنَّه كان يخفِّفُ الصلاةَ، كان يقرأُ في صلاة الفجر بالواقعةِ ونحوِها من السُّوَر (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم ولم يُخرجاه، وإنما خرَّج مسلم بإسناده: كان يقرأ في صلاة الفجر بالواقعة (2)!

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was just like your prayer, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to keep the prayer light. He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah al-Waqi'ah and surahs like it in the Fajr prayer.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it; Imam Muslim only recorded the report mentioning Surah al-Waqi'ah.

حدثنا أبو الحسن علي بن محمد بن عُبيد القُرَشي (3) بالكوفة، حدثنا الحسن بن علي بن عفّان العامري، حدثنا أبو أسامة، حدثنا سفيان، عن معاوية بن صالح، عن عبد الرحمن بن جُبَير بن نُفَير الحضرمي، عن أبيه، عن عُقْبة بن عامر قال: سألتُ رسول الله ﷺ عن المعوِّذَتين: أمِنَ القرآنِ هما؟ فَأَمَّنَا بهما رسولُ الله ﷺ في صلاة الفجر (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه، وقد تفرَّد به أبو أسامة عن الثَّوري (2)، وأبو أسامة ثقة مُعتمَد. وقد رواه عبد الرحمن بن مَهْدي وزيد بن الحُبَاب عن معاوية بن صالح بإسناد آخر. أما حديث عبد الرحمن بن مَهْدي:

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Surah al-Falaq and Surah al-Nas): are they part of the Qur'an? So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the Fajr prayer reciting these very two surahs.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it. Abu Usamah narrated it from al-Thawri, and he is a trustworthy and reliable narrator.

فأخبرَناه أحمد بن جعفر القَطيعي، حدثنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل، حدثني أبي، حدثني عبد الرحمن، عن معاوية بن صالح، عن العلاء بن الحارث، عن القاسم مولى معاوية، عن عُقْبة بن عامر قال: كنت أَقُودُ برسول الله ﷺ راحلتَه في السفر، فقال: "يا عقبةُ، ألَا أعلِّمُك خيرَ سورتين قُرِئَتا؟ " قلت: بلى، قال: "قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ﴾ و ﴿قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ﴾، فلما نَزَلَ صلَّى بهما صلاةَ الغَدَاة، ثم قال: "كيف تَرَى يا عقبةُ؟ " (3). وأما حديث زيد بن الحُبَاب عن معاوية بن صالح نحوُ هذا الإسناد، وهذا الإسناد لا يعلَّل الأولَ، فإنَّ هذا إسنادٌ لمتنٍ آخر، والله أعلم.
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was holding the reins of the mount of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey when he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Uqbah! Shall I not teach you the two best surahs that are recited?" I said: "Yes." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak' and 'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind'." Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted, he led the morning prayer reciting these very two surahs, and then said: "O Uqbah! How did you find it?"
