Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was just like your prayer, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to keep the prayer light. He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah al-Waqi'ah and surahs like it in the Fajr prayer.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it; Imam Muslim only recorded the report mentioning Surah al-Waqi'ah.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "hasan" because of Simak bin Harb and Ahmad bin Mihran, and Ahmad is corroborated. Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it in (34/20995) and Ibn Hibban in (1823) via various routes from Isra'il with this same chain. (1069). Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated something similar in (21002) and Muslim in (643) (227) via Abu Awanah; also Ahmad (20843) and Muslim (458) (169) via Zuhayr bin Mu'awiyah, and Muslim (458) (168) and Ibn Hibban (1816) via Za'idah bin Qudamah; all three of these narrators narrate it from Simak bin Harb. Details of the narration: Abu Awanah did not mention the recitation in his narration, whereas the other two narrators (Zuhayr and Za'idah) mentioned that he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite the surah "Qaf, wa al-Qur'an al-Majid". Note / Clarification: For further detail on this see number (1069) later.
Important point: This is how it occurs in the original manuscripts, but it is probably a "slip of the pen", because with Muslim the correct wording is: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite surah 'Qaf'".
