Hadith 9710
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْحَيَاءُ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Modesty is also an important branch of faith.
Hadith 9711
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَؤُمُّنَا ، فَيَجْهَرُ وَيُخَافِتُ ، فَجَهَرْنَا فِيمَا جَهَرَ ، وَخَافَتْنَا فِيمَا خَافَتَ ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا بِقِرَاءَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in prayer; sometimes he would recite aloud and sometimes silently. Therefore, we also recite aloud in those prayers in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recited aloud, and we recite silently in those prayers in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recited silently. And I heard him say that there is no prayer without recitation.
Hadith 9712
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ خَالِهِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " سَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْمُسْلِمُونَ فِي النَّجْمِ ، إِلَّا رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ، أَرَادَا بِذَلِكَ الشُّهْرَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that upon the verse of prostration in Surah Najm, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and all the Muslims (in fact, all the polytheists) performed prostration, except for two men from the Quraysh among the polytheists who wanted to make themselves known.
Hadith 9713
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَيَعْلَى ، وَمُحَمَّدٌ ابْنَا عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالُوا : أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا قَرَأَ ابْنُ آدَمَ السَّجْدَةَ ، اعْتَزَلَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَبْكِي يَقُولُ : يَا وَيْلَهُ , أُمِرَ بِالسُّجُودِ فَسَجَدَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ ، وَأُمِرْتُ بِالسُّجُودِ فَعَصَيْتُ فَلِي النَّارُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person recites a verse of prostration and performs prostration, Satan withdraws weeping and says, "Alas! The son of Adam was commanded to prostrate, he prostrated and Paradise is for him. I was commanded to prostrate, but I refused, so Hell is for me."
Hadith 9714
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ يُضَاعَفُ الْحَسَنَةُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ إِلَى مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : إِلَّا الصَّوْمَ فَإِنَّهُ لِي ، وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ ، يَدَعُ طَعَامَهُ وَشَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي ، لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ : فَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ ، وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ ، الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ , الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every good deed of the son of Adam is increased for him from ten times to seven hundred times, except for fasting (about which Allah Almighty says): Fasting is especially for Me and I Myself will give its reward. The fasting person leaves his desires and food for My sake. The fasting person has two occasions of happiness and joy: when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah Almighty, he will also be happy. The smell from the mouth of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. Fasting is a shield, fasting is a shield.
Hadith 9715
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ ، وَأَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ , وَالْأَعْمَشُ يَرْفَعُهُ : " إِذَا انْقَطَعَ شِسْعُ أَحَدِكُمْ ، فَلَا يَمْشِي فِي النَّعْلِ الْوَاحِدَةِ " .
It is narrated marfu‘ from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the strap of the shoe of any one of you breaks, he should not walk wearing only one shoe.
Hadith 9716
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا النَّهَّاسُ بْنُ قَهْمٍ الصُّبَحِيُّ ، عَنْ شَدَّادٍ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَى شُفْعَةِ الضُّحَى ، غُفِرَتْ لَهُ ذُنُوبُهُ ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever regularly performs two rak'ahs of Duha prayer, all his sins will be forgiven, even if they are as much as the foam of the sea.
Hadith 9717
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَلِيلُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ لَمْ يُوتِرْ ، فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not pray Witr is not one of us.
Hadith 9718
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الْعَرَضِ ، إِنَّمَا الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wealth is not in the abundance of possessions; true wealth is the wealth of the heart.
Hadith 9719
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَلِيحٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ لَمْ يَدْعُ اللَّهَ ، غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not ask from Allah, Allah becomes angry with him.
Hadith 9720
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ : عَلَى جَمْعِ الْمَالِ ، وَطُولِ الْحَيَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In an old man, the love for two things becomes young: a long life and abundance of wealth.
Hadith 9721
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا وَقَعَ الذُّبَابُ فِي طَعَامِ أَحَدِكُمْ أَوْ شَرَابِهِ فَلْيَغْمِسْهُ ، إِذَا أَخْرَجَهُ فَإِنَّ فِي أَحَدِ جَنَاحَيْهِ دَاءً ، وَفِي الْآخَرِ شِفَاءً ، وَإِنَّهُ يُقَدِّمُ الدَّاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a fly falls into the vessel of any one of you, then he should remember that in one wing of the fly there is healing and in the other wing there is disease. Therefore, he should fully dip the fly into it (then using it is up to his discretion).
Hadith 9722
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا النَّهَّاسُ ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ بِمَكَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " فِرَّ مِنَ الْمَجْذُومِ ، فِرَارَكَ مِنَ الْأَسَدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Flee from the leper as you flee when you see a lion."
Hadith 9723
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ بَعْجَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يَكُونُ أَفْضَلُ النَّاسِ فِيهِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ رَجُلٍ أَخَذَ بِعِنَانِ فَرَسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، كُلَّمَا سَمِعَ بِهَيْعَةٍ اسْتَوَى عَلَى مَتْنِهِ ، ثُمَّ طَلَبَ الْمَوْتَ مَظَانَّهُ ، وَرَجُلٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنْ هَذِهِ الشِّعَابِ يُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ ، وَيُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ ، وَيَدَعُ النَّاسَ إِلَّا مِنْ خَيْرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A time will surely come upon the people when, in terms of status and rank, the most virtuous person will be the one who, holding the reins of his horse, sets out in the path of Allah; wherever he hears a call, he mounts his horse and sets out in search of death (martyrdom). Or that person who lives among the common people, establishes prayer, pays zakat, and keeps away from people except for good (does not harm anyone).
Hadith 9724
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُرِيدُ سَفَرًا ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَوْصِنِي . قَالَ : " أُوصِيكَ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ ، وَالتَّكْبِيرِ عَلَى كُلِّ شَرَفٍ " ، فَلَمَّا مَضَى قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ ازْوِ لَهُ الْأَرْضَ ، وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْهِ السَّفَرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He was about to set out on a journey and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), give me some advice." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I advise you to fear Allah and to proclaim the takbeer (Allahu Akbar) on every elevation." When that man turned to leave, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Allah, fold the earth for him and make his journey easy."
Hadith 9725
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدَانُ الْجُهَنِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ أَبِي مُجَاهِدٍ الطَّائِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُدِلَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْإِمَامُ الْعَادِلُ لَا تُرَدُّ دَعْوَتُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The supplication of a just ruler is never rejected.
Hadith 9726
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ وَهُوَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا لَقِيتُمْ الْيَهُودَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا ، وَلَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ : " الْمُشْرِكِينَ بِالطَّرِيقِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you meet the Jews on the road, do not initiate the greeting of peace with them, and force them to the narrowest part of the road.
Hadith 9727
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي رُهْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ تَطَيَّبَتْ ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ لِيُوجَدَ رِيحُهَا لَمْ يُقْبَلْ مِنْهَا صَلَاةٌ ، حَتَّى تَغْتَسِلَ اغْتِسَالَهَا مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Any woman who applies perfume and leaves her house intending to go to the mosque, Allah does not accept her prayer until she returns home and washes it off in the manner of washing after impurity."
Hadith 9728
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ الْمَعْنَى : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ أَخَذَ تَمْرَةً مِنْ تَمْرِ الصَّدَقَةِ , فَلَاكَهَا فِي فِيهِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كِخْ كِخْ ، فَإِنَّا لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) took a date from the charity and put it in his mouth. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Take it out! Do you not know that we, the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), do not eat charity?"
Hadith 9729
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ لِعَبْدِهِ : عَبْدِي ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ : فَتَايَ ، وَلَا يَقُلْ الْعَبْدُ لِسَيِّدِهِ : رَبِّي ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ : سَيِّدِي " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: None of you should say about his slave, "My slave (Abdi)," but rather he should say, "My young man." And none of you should say to his master, "My lord (Rabbi)," but rather he should say, "My chief, my master."
Hadith 9730
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى التَّوْءَمَةِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَلَيْسَ لَهُ شَيْءٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever offers the funeral prayer in the mosque, there is no reward for him.
Hadith 9731
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةٍ ، فَرَأَى عُمَرُ امْرَأَةً فَصَاحَ بِهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " دَعْهَا يَا عُمَرُ فَإِنَّ الْعَيْنَ دَامِعَةٌ ، وَالنَّفْسَ مُصَابَةٌ ، وَالْعَهْدَ حَدِيثٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was at a funeral. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a woman and began to scold and stop her. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Umar, leave her, for the eye sheds tears and the heart is grieved, and the wound is still fresh."
Hadith 9732
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَأَنْ يَجْلِسَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى جَمْرَةٍ حَتَّى تَحْتَرِقَ ثِيَابُهُ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ عَلَى قَبْرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is better for any one of you to sit on a burning coal and his clothes catch fire than to sit on a grave.
Hadith 9733
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَلْعُونٌ مَنْ أَتَى امْرَأَتَهُ فِي دُبُرِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has intercourse with a woman in her back private part is accursed.
Hadith 9734
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَصُمْ الْمَرْأَةُ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا وَزَوْجُهَا شَاهِدٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ " . قَالَ وَكِيعٌ : " إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No woman should observe a voluntary fast, other than in the month of Ramadan, while her husband is present at home, except with his permission.
Hadith 9735
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ الزَّعَافِرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا سورة الإسراء آية 79 ، قَالَ : " الشَّفَاعَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the explanation of "Maqam Mahmood": This is the very station where I will stand and intercede for my Ummah.
Hadith 9736
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : جَاءَ مُشْرِكُو قُرَيْشٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يُخَاصِمُونَهُ فِي الْقَدَرِ ، فَنَزَلَتْ : يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ {48} إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ {49} سورة القمر آية 48-49 .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the polytheists of Quraysh came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disputing about the matter of destiny. On this occasion, this verse was revealed: "The Day their faces will be scorched by the Fire, it will be said to them, 'Taste the punishment of Hell. Indeed, We have created everything according to a determined measure.'"
Hadith 9737
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ : " أَشْعَرُ كَلِمَةٍ قَالَتْهَا الْعَرَبُ قَوْلُ لَبِيدِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ : أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا اللَّهَ بَاطِلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying from the pulpit that the truest verse ever spoken by a poet is the verse of Labid bin Rabi’ah: "Behold! Everything except Allah is false (perishable)."
Hadith 9738
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا كَلْبٌ ، وَلَا جَرَسٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Angels do not accompany a caravan in which there is a dog or bells.
Hadith 9739
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ يَعْنِي الْعُمَرِيَّ ، عَنْ كِدَامِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي كِبَاشٍ ، قَالَ : جَلَبْتُ غَنَمًا جُذْعَانًا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَكَسَدَتْ عَلَيَّ ، فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " نِعْمَ , أَوْ نِعْمَتِ الْأُضْحِيَّةُ الْجَذَعُ مِنَ الضَّأْنِ " ، فَانْتَهَبَهَا النَّاسُ .
Abu Kabshah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I imported some lambs to Madinah Munawwarah, but I suffered a loss there. By chance, I met Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). I asked him some questions and he said: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that the lamb is the best animal for sacrifice. According to the narrator, then people took it away.
Hadith 9740
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " السَّفَرُ قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ ، يَمْنَعُ أَحَدَكُمْ نَوْمَهُ وَطَعَامَهُ ، فَإِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ نَهْمَتَهُ مِنْ سَفَرِهِ ، فَلْيُعَجِّلْ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Travel is a portion of torment; it deprives one of food, drink, and sleep. Therefore, when one of you has fulfilled his need, he should return to his family as soon as possible."
Hadith 9741
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا تُسَافِرْ امْرَأَةٌ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمٍ تَامٍّ ، إِلَّا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not permissible for any woman to travel for even one day without a mahram from her family.
Hadith 9742
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ السُّدِّيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ يَرْفَعُهُ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيَسْمَعُ خَفْقَ نِعَالِهِمْ ، إِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِينَ " .
It is narrated (marfu'an) from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the dead person even hears the sound of the footsteps of the people when they are returning after burying him.
Hadith 9743
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدَانُ الْجُهَنِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُدِلَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يُرَدُّ دُعَاؤُهُمْ : الْإِمَامُ الْعَادِلُ ، وَالصَّائِمُ حَتَّى يُفْطِرَ ، وَدَعْوَةُ الْمَظْلُومِ ، يَرْفَعُهَا اللَّهُ فَوْقَ الْغَمَامِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَيَفْتَحُ لَهَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ ، وَيَقُولُ الرَّبُّ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : بِعِزَّتِي لَأَنْصُرَنَّكِ وَلَوْ بَعْدَ حِينٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three persons whose supplication is never rejected: a just ruler, a fasting person until he breaks his fast, and the supplication of the oppressed. It rises above the clouds, the gates of the heavens are opened for it, and Allah, the Exalted, says: By My honor, I will surely help you, even if it is after some time.
Hadith 9744
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدَانُ الْجُهَنِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُجَاهِدٍ الطَّائِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُدِلَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبِرْنَا عَنِ الْجَنَّةِ ، مَا بِنَاؤُهَا ؟ قَالَ : " لَبِنَةٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَلَبِنَةٌ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ ، مِلَاطُهَا الْمِسْكُ الْأَذْفَرُ ، حَصْبَاؤُهَا الْيَاقُوتُ وَاللُّؤْلُؤُ ، وَتُرْبَتُهَا الْوَرْسُ وَالزَّعْفَرَانُ ، مَنْ يَدْخُلُهَا يَخْلُدُ لَا يَمُوتُ ، وَيَنْعَمُ لَا يَبْأَسُ ، لَا يَبْلَى شَبَابُهُمْ ، وَلَا تُخَرَّقُ ثِيَابُهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we asked in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), tell us something about Paradise, how is it constructed?" The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "One brick is of gold and one brick is of silver, its mortar is pure musk, its pebbles are pearls and rubies, and its soil is saffron and fragrant herb. Whoever enters it will always be in bliss and comfort, will never be in distress, will remain forever, will never die, his clothes will never wear out, and his youth will never fade."
Hadith 9745
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا يَجْزِي وَلَدٌ وَالِدَهُ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَجِدَهُ مَمْلُوكًا فَيَشْتَرِيَهُ فَيُعْتِقَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No child has the capacity to compensate for the crime of his father (the punishment for the father's crime will not be taken from his children). However, there is one thing: if someone finds his father in a state of slavery, he should buy him and set him free.
Hadith 9746
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ ، حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) continued to advise me to treat the neighbor well with such persistence that I began to think he would soon make him an heir.
Hadith 9747
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ بِالطَّوَّافَ عَلَيْكُمْ ، الَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ اللُّقْمَةُ وَاللُّقْمَتَانِ ، وَلَكِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ الْمُتَعَفِّفُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The needy is not the one who can be turned away with one or two dates or one or two morsels; the real needy is the one who refrains from asking.
Hadith 9748
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " الْإِيمَانُ بِضْعٌ وَسَبْعُونَ بَابًا ، فَأَدْنَاهُ إِمَاطَةُ الْأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ ، وَأَرْفَعُهَا قَوْلُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Faith has more than seventy branches, the most excellent and highest of which is saying "La ilaha illallah" (There is no god but Allah), and the lightest of them is removing something harmful from the path.
Hadith 9749
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ : أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي ، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ إِذَا دَعَانِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "I deal with My servant according to his expectation of Me, and when he calls upon Me, I am with him."
