Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making nabidh by mixing raisins and dates, or unripe and ripe dates together, and said that nabidh can be made from each of them separately.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of utensils except for those utensils whose mouths are tied with thread or the like.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three things, when they appear, the faith of a soul will not benefit it if it did not believe before, or did not earn goodness in its faith. (1) The rising of the sun from the west (2) The smoke (3) The beast of the earth.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once supplicated, saying: O Allah, fix the sustenance of the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to that which is just sufficient for their livelihood.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wants to recite the Qur'an firmly in the manner in which it was revealed, he should recite it according to the style of Ibn Umm Abd (Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person gets up from his place and goes away, then upon returning, he has more right to that place.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of unlawful medicines (poison).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I fell ill, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit me and said, "Shall I not teach you some words of incantation with which Jibreel (peace be upon him) performed ruqyah on me?" I said, "May my parents be sacrificed for you, why not?" He said, "These are the words: In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah on you. May Allah cure you from every disease that harms you, from the evil of those who blow on knots, and from the evil of the envier when he envies. May He grant you healing."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he never saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performing the Duha (forenoon) prayer except on one occasion.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Husain (may Allah be pleased with him): O Allah, I love them, so You also love them.

Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I went to the house of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) to serve him. I asked him about the issue of fasting on the Day of Arafah in the plain of Arafat. He replied that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting on the Day of Arafah in the plain of Arafat.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that recitation is done in every prayer. However, in the prayer in which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited aloud to us, we too will recite aloud to you, and in the prayer in which he recited quietly, we too will recite quietly.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a companion of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a place where there was a spring of sweet water, and he liked the climate there. He thought to himself that he would settle there and live in seclusion. Then he thought, no, I should first ask the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So he came and asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Participating in jihad in the way of Allah by any one of you is far better than worshipping continuously for sixty years while living with your family. Do you not wish that Allah should forgive you and admit you to Paradise? Strive in the way of Allah. Whoever strives in the way of Allah even to the extent of the time it takes for milk to flow from a she-camel’s udder, Paradise becomes obligatory for him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O servants of Allah! Live as brothers among yourselves, do not harbor enmity and hatred among yourselves, remain on the right path, stay close to the straight path, and accept glad tidings.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Those people who gather in a place for a meeting but do not remember Allah in it nor send blessings upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and then disperse, it will be a cause of regret for them on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Hajj with his pure wives, he said: "This Hajj has been performed; after this, you must remain in your homes."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best camels (in terms of number) are thirty, among which a man loads his goods on the finest camel, lends the lesser one, gifts the one full of milk, and when they come to the enclosure, he milks them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "A time will come upon you in which a person will be given the choice between helplessness and immorality; whoever reaches that time should choose helplessness over immorality and prefer it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the presence of the Prophet and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), at what time is giving charity most rewarding?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The best charity is that which you give while you are healthy, desiring wealth, fearing poverty, and hoping to live longer. Do not delay charity until the soul reaches the throat, and then you begin to say, 'Give this much to so-and-so and that much to so-and-so,' for by then it already belongs to so-and-so (the heirs)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should prevent his neighbor from placing wood (or a beam) on his wall.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever endures the hardships and difficulties of Madinah Munawwarah with patience, I will bear witness and intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was approached by a woman whose husband had divorced her. She wanted to take her child. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Draw lots." The child's father said, "Who can come between me and my child?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave the boy the choice and said, "O boy, choose whichever of them you wish to go with." He preferred his mother, and she took him with her.

It is narrated as testimony from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whenever a group of people sits together to remember Allah, the angels surround them, tranquility descends upon them, mercy covers them, and Allah mentions them in the assembly on high.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever frees a Muslim slave, Allah will free every limb of the one who frees him from Hell in exchange for every limb of the slave—even a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot, and a private part for a private part. Upon hearing this hadith, Ali bin Husain (may Allah have mercy on him) called his slave and set him free.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person gets up from his place and goes away, then after returning, he is the most deserving of that place.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No woman should touch her naked body with another woman, and likewise, no man should do so with another man, except between father and son.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In an old man, the love of two things becomes young: a long life and abundance of wealth.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in prayer. During the prayer, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a mistake (of forgetfulness).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "Such-and-such a man prays at night and steals during the day." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Soon his prayer and recitation will prevent him from this act."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carrying Hazrat Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) on his shoulder, and his saliva was flowing onto the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As long as I leave you regarding a matter, you too leave me regarding it, because the nations before you were destroyed only due to their excessive questioning and differing with their prophets. Whatever I forbid you from, abstain from it, and whatever I command you to do, do it to the best of your ability."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to remain silent for a short while between saying the opening Takbeer and the recitation after the Takbeer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Our Lord is amazed at those people who are dragged to Paradise in chains. (Their deeds are taking them towards Hell, but Allah's mercy is taking them towards Paradise.)

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Seek refuge with Allah from the decade of seventy and the rule of children.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Tufail bin Amr Dosi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) along with his companions and said that the people of the tribe of Daws are persistent in disobedience and denial. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed: O Allah! Grant guidance to the tribe of Daws and bring them here.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among the Muslims earnestly asks Allah for something, Allah surely grants him that thing, either by giving it to him quickly or by storing it for him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the iqamah for prayer was being called, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also arrived and stood at his place. When the takbeer was about to be said, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) signaled to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) with his hand to stay where they were, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left. When he returned, drops of water were dripping from his head. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in prayer. After finishing the prayer, he said, "Ghusl (ritual bath) was obligatory upon me, but I had forgotten to perform it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that while describing the appearance of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he used to say: The hands of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were full, his eyelashes were long and thick, and there was a gap between his two shoulders. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would turn his attention completely and would turn his face fully. May my parents be sacrificed for him. He was neither foul-mouthed nor would he feign immodesty, nor did he roam around making noise in the markets.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding Surah Al-Fatiha: "This is Umm al-Qur'an, this is the Seven Oft-Repeated (verses), and this is the Great Qur'an."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a slave fulfills the rights of both Allah and his master, he receives double reward for every deed.
