Hadith 9670
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى السَّعْدِيِّينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِنَّ رِجَالًا يَسْتَنْفِرُونَ عَشَائِرَهُمْ ، يَقُولُونَ : الْخَيْرَ الْخَيْرَ ، وَالْمَدِينَةُ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ ، لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ . وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ ، إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا ، أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهَا لَتَنْفِي أَهْلَهَا ، كَمَا يَنْفِي الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا أَحَدٌ رَاغِبًا عَنْهَا ، إِلَّا أَبْدَلَهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ خَيْرًا مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some people are provoking their tribesmen by declaring them better and better (and are leaving Madinah), whereas if they knew, Madinah itself is better for them. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), whoever endures the hardships and difficulties of Madinah with patience, I will intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), Madinah purifies its inhabitants just as a furnace removes the impurities of iron. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), whoever leaves here with reluctance, Allah will settle someone better than him in his place.
Hadith 9671
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ . ووكيع , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِذَا دَعَا الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَأَبَتْ عَلَيْهِ ، فَبَاتَ وَهُوَ غَضْبَانُ ، لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ " . قَالَ وَكِيعٌ : " عَلَيْهَا سَاخِطٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a man calls his wife to bed and she, due to some displeasure, leaves her husband's bed and spends the night elsewhere, the angels continue to curse her all night until morning.
Hadith 9672
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَيَّانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " يَا بِلَالُ ، حَدِّثْنِي بِأَرْجَى عَمَلٍ عَمِلْتَهُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ عِنْدَكَ مَنْفَعَةً ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ اللَّيْلَةَ خَشْفَ نَعْلَيْكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " ، فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ : مَا عَمِلْتُ عَمَلًا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَرْجَى عِنْدِي مَنْفَعَةً ، إِلَّا أَنِّي لَمْ أَتَطَهَّرْ طُهُورًا تَامًّا فِي سَاعَةٍ مِنْ لَيْلٍ أَوْ نَهَارٍ ، إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ بِذَلِكَ الطُّهُورِ ، مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لِي أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), "Bilal, tell me about an act you have done in Islam for which you hope to receive the greatest reward? For I heard the sound of your footsteps ahead of me in Paradise last night." He replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I have not done any act in Islam for which I hope for a greater reward than this: whenever I performed ablution at any time of the day or night, I would offer as much prayer as was destined for me with that ablution."
Hadith 9673
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ حَسَنٌ , وَحُسَيْنٌ هَذَا عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ وَهَذَا عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ ، وَهُوَ يَلْثِمُ هَذَا مَرَّةً وَيَلْثِمُ هَذَا مَرَّةً ، حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيْنَا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّكَ تُحِبُّهُمَا . فَقَالَ : " مَنْ أَحَبَّهُمَا فَقَدْ أَحَبَّنِي ، وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمَا فَقَدْ أَبْغَضَنِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out of the house, Hazrat Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them) were with him. One was on one shoulder and the other on the other shoulder, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes kiss one and sometimes the other. In this manner, while walking, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came near us. A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), do you love these two very much?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Whoever loves these two, it is as if he loves me, and whoever harbors enmity towards them, he harbors enmity towards me."
Hadith 9674
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " سَيْحَانُ , وَجَيْحَانُ ، وَالنِّيلُ , وَالْفُرَاتُ ، وَكُلٌّ مِنْ أَنْهَارِ الْجَنَّةِ " . قَالَ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ : " كُلٌّ مِنْ أَنْهَارِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The river Euphrates, the river Nile, the river Jihun, and the river Sihun are all rivers of Paradise.
Hadith 9675
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى مَوْلَى جَعْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ فُلَانَةَ يُذْكَرُ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ صَلَاتِهَا ، وَصِيَامِهَا ، وَصَدَقَتِهَا ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهَا تُؤْذِي جِيرَانَهَا بِلِسَانِهَا ، قَالَ : " هِيَ فِي النَّارِ " ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَإِنَّ فُلَانَةَ يُذْكَرُ مِنْ قِلَّةِ صِيَامِهَا ، وَصَدَقَتِهَا ، وَصَلَاتِهَا ، وَإِنَّهَا تَصَدَّقُ بِالْأَثْوَارِ مِنَ الْأَقِطِ ، وَلَا تُؤْذِي جِيرَانَهَا بِلِسَانِهَا ، قَالَ : " هِيَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man presented himself in the court of the Prophet and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), such-and-such woman is well-known for offering many prayers, fasting, and giving charity, but she harms her neighbors with her tongue." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "She is of the people of Hell." Then he said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), such-and-such woman is known for having little in the way of prayers, fasting, and charity; she only gives a few pieces of cheese in charity, but she does not harm her neighbors with her tongue." He said, "She is of the people of Paradise."
Hadith 9676
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّهُ عَادَ مَرِيضًا ، وَمَعَهُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مِنْ وَعْكٍ كَانَ بِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَبْشِرْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ : نَارِي أُسَلِّطُهَا عَلَى عَبْدِي الْمُؤْمِنِ فِي الدُّنْيَا ، لِتَكُونَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once went to visit a sick person "who had a fever." Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with him. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Rejoice, for Allah Almighty says: I impose My fire upon My believing servant in this world so that the portion he has for the Hereafter is fulfilled in this world itself.
Hadith 9677
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ قَاعِدًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَاءَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، طَوْقٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ . قَالَ : " طَوْقٌ مِنْ نَارٍ " ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، سِوَارَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ . قَالَ : " سِوَارَانِ مِنْ نَارٍ " . قَالَتْ : قُرْطَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ . قَالَ : " قُرْطَانِ مِنْ نَارٍ " ، قَالَ وَكَانَ عَلَيْهَا سِوَارٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَرَمَتْ بِهماِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ إِحْدَانَا إِذَا لَمْ تَزَّيَّنْ لِزَوْجِهَا صَلِفَتْ عِنْدَهُ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " مَا يَمْنَعُ إِحْدَاكُنَّ تَصْنَعُ قُرْطَيْنِ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ ، ثُمَّ تُصَفِّرُهُمَا بِالزَّعْفَرَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a woman came and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), this is a gold necklace." He said, "This is a collar of the fire of Hell." She said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), these are two gold bangles." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "These are bangles of fire." She said, "These are two gold earrings." He said, "Earrings of fire." That woman was wearing gold bangles; she took them off and threw them away and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), if a woman among us does not adorn herself before her husband, she becomes insignificant in his eyes?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Who has stopped you from making earrings of silver and coloring them with saffron?"
Hadith 9678
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْزَلَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ : عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ ، غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah has revealed the Noble Qur'an upon seven letters, for example: All-Knowing, Wise, Forgiving, Merciful.
Hadith 9679
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " نَفْسُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مُعَلَّقَةٌ ، مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The soul of a Muslim remains suspended until his debt is paid off.
Hadith 9680
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " صِنْفَانِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ لَمْ أَرَهُمْ بَعْدُ : نِسَاءٌ كَاسِيَاتٌ عَارِيَاتٌ مَائِلَاتٌ مُمِيلَاتٌ عَلَى رُءُوسِهِنَّ أَمْثَالُ أَسْنِمَةِ الْإِبِلِ لَا يَدْخُلْنَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يَجِدْنَ رِيحَهَا ، وَرِجَالٌ مَعَهُمْ أَسْيَاطٌ كَأَذْنَابِ الْبَقَرِ يَضْرِبُونَ بِهَا النَّاسَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are two groups among the inhabitants of Hell whom I have not seen yet. One is women who will be clothed yet naked, who will incline towards men and make men incline towards them. On their heads will be things like the humps of Bactrian camels. These women will neither see Paradise nor smell its fragrance. The second group is men who will have whips like the tails of cows in their hands, with which they will beat people.
Hadith 9681
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ ، وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Saying "Subhan Allah" to remind the Imam is for men, and clapping is for women.
Hadith 9682
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة , قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا أَنْ لَا نُبَادِرَ الْإِمَامَ بِالرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ ، وَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا ، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَاسْجُدُوا ، وَإِذَا قَالَ : غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا الضَّالِّينَ سورة الفاتحة آية 7 , فَقُولُوا : آمِينَ ، فَإِذَا وَافَقَ كَلَامَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ ، غُفِرَ لِمَنْ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَإِذَا قَالَ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، فَقُولُوا : رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ " .
It is narrated from the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach us not to go ahead of the imam in bowing and prostration, and that when he says the takbeer, you should also say the takbeer; when he prostrates, you should also prostrate; when he says "ghayril maghdubi 'alayhim wa la-d-dallin," you should say "Ameen," because if a person's "Ameen" coincides with that of the angels, then by its blessing, all the people present in the mosque are forgiven. And when he says "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," you should say "Rabbana lakal hamd."
Hadith 9683
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، وَمُحَمَّدٌ ابْنَا عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " مَنْ بَدَا جَفَا ، وَمَنْ تَبِعَ الصَّيْدَ غَفَلَ ، وَمَنْ أَتَى أَبْوَابَ السُّلْطَانِ افْتُتِنَ ، وَمَا ازْدَادَ عَبْدٌ مِنَ السُّلْطَانِ قُرْبًا إِلَّا ازْدَادَ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بُعْدًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever lives in the villages wrongs himself; whoever pursues hunting becomes heedless; whoever comes to the doors of kings falls into tribulation; and the closer a person gets to a king, the farther he gets from Allah.
Hadith 9684
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ الْأَوْدِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَسَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا سورة الإسراء آية 79 ، قَالَ : " هُوَ الْمَقَامُ الَّذِي أَشْفَعُ لِأُمَّتِي فِيهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the explanation of "Maqam Mahmood": This is the very station where I will stand and intercede for my Ummah.
Hadith 9685
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " كَمْ مِنْ صَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ إِلَّا الْجُوعُ ، وَكَمْ مِنْ قَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ إِلَّا السَّهَرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are many who fast but gain nothing from their fast except hunger and thirst, and there are many who stand in prayer at night but gain nothing from their standing except wakefulness."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَبْرٍ ، فَقَالَ : " ائْتُونِي بِجَرِيدَتَيْنِ " ، فَجَعَلَ إِحْدَاهُمَا عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ ، وَالْأُخْرَى عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ ، فَقِيلَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، أَيَنْفَعُهُ ذَلِكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : " لَنْ يَزَالَ أَنْ يُخَفَّفَ عَنْهُ بَعْضُ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، مَا كَانَ فِيهِمَا نُدُوٌّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a grave and said, "Bring me two branches." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed one branch at the head of the grave and the other at the foot. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will this benefit him?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "As long as there is freshness in these branches, his punishment will be lessened."
Hadith 9687
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بن كيْسانِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم لِعَمِّهِ : " قُلْ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، أَشْهَدْ لَكَ بِهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " ، قَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ تُعَيِّرَنِي قُرَيْشٌ ، لَأَقْرَرْتُ عَيْنَكَ بِهَا ، قَالَ : فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : إِنَّكَ لا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ سورة القصص آية 56 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his uncle (Khawaja Abu Talib at the time of his death): "Acknowledge that there is no god but Allah; I will testify on your behalf with it on the Day of Resurrection." He said, "If it were not that the people of Quraysh would taunt me, saying that he recited this word out of fear, I would have cooled your eyes (i.e., pleased you)." Upon this, Allah revealed this verse: "You cannot guide whom you love."
Hadith 9688
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : زَارَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْرَ أُمِّهِ فَبَكَى ، وَبَكَى مَنْ حَوْلَهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " اسْتَأْذَنْتُ رَبِّي فِي أَنْ أَسْتَغْفِرَ لَهَا فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لِي ، وَاسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ فِي أَنْ أَزُورَ قَبْرَهَا فَأَذِنَ لِي ، فَزُورُوا الْقُبُورَ ، فَإِنَّهَا تُذَكِّرُ الْمَوْتَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) visited his mother's grave and wept, and those with him also began to weep. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I asked my Lord for permission to seek forgiveness for my mother, but I was not granted permission. I then asked for permission to visit her grave, and that was granted. Therefore, visit the graveyards, for they remind one of death.
Hadith 9689
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَا لَمَمٌ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَشْفِيَنِي ، قَالَ : " إِنْ شِئْتِ دَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَشْفِيَكِ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتِ فَاصْبِرِي ، وَلَا حِسَابَ عَلَيْكِ " ، قَالَتْ : بَلْ أَصْبِرُ ، وَلَا حِسَابَ عَلَيَّ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who used to have epileptic fits. She said, "O Messenger of Allah! Pray for me that He grants me healing." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you wish, I will pray to Allah for your healing, and if you wish, endure this affliction with patience in this world and there will be no reckoning for you in the Hereafter." The woman said, "Then I will be patient so that there will be no reckoning for me."
Hadith 9690
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ثِنْتَانِ هُمَا بِالنَّاسِ كُفْرٌ : نِيَاحَةٌ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ ، وَطَعْنٌ فِي النَّسَبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: Two things are acts of disbelief; one is wailing (over the dead) and the other is casting aspersions on someone's lineage.
Hadith 9691
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ الْأَعْمَشُ : لَا أُرَاهُ إِلَّا قَدْ رَفَعَهُ ، قَالَ : " وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَبِ مِنْ أَمْرٍ قَدْ اقْتَرَبَ ، أَفْلَحَ مَنْ كَفَّ يَدَهُ " ، وَوَافَقَهُ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ .
It is narrated marfu'an from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the destruction of the Arabs has drawn near because of the evil that has come close. In this, successful will be the one who restrains his hand.
Hadith 9692
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ هَؤُلَاءِ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ ، مَثَلُ نَهْرٍ جَارٍ عَلَى بَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ ، فَمَاذَا يُبْقِينَ مِنْ دَرَنِهِ ؟ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the five prayers is like that of a stream flowing at the door of one of you, in which he bathes five times a day. What do you think—will any dirt remain on his body?
Hadith 9693
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ اللَّجْلَاجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَجْتَمِعُ الشُّحُّ وَالْإِيمَانُ ، فِي جَوْفِ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ ، وَلَا يَجْتَمِعُ غُبَارٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَدُخَانُ جَهَنَّمَ ، فِي جَوْفِ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Faith and miserliness cannot coexist in the heart of a Muslim, just as the dust from striving in the way of Allah and the smoke of Hell cannot coexist in the nostrils of a Muslim.
Hadith 9694
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، وَيَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا نَجِدُ فِي أَنْفُسِنَا مَا يَسُرُّنَا نَتَكَلَّمُ بِهِ ، وَإِنَّ لَنَا مَا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ ، قَالَ : " أَوَجَدْتُمْ ذَلِكَ " ، قَالُوا : نَعَمْ . قَالَ : " ذَاكَ صَرِيحُ الْإِيمَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that once the companions, may Allah be pleased with them, said, "O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sometimes such thoughts come into our hearts that we do not like to utter them, even if we were to be given the whole world in exchange." The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Does this really happen?" The companions, may Allah be pleased with them, replied, "Yes." The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "This is pure faith."
Hadith 9695
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهِيدَ ؟ " ، قَالُوا الَّذِي يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الشَّهِيدَ فِي أُمَّتِي إِذًا لَقَلِيلٌ الْقَتِيلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ شَهِيدٌ ، وَالطَّعِينُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ شَهِيدٌ ، وَالْغَرِيقُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ شَهِيدٌ ، وَالْخَارُّ عَنْ دَابَّتِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ شَهِيدٌ ، وَالْمَجْنُوبُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ شَهِيدٌ " ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : الْمَجْنُوبُ : صَاحِبُ الْجَنْبِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once asked the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Whom do you consider a 'martyr' among you?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "The one who is killed while fighting in the way of Allah." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If it is so, then the number of martyrs in my Ummah will be very few. Being killed in Jihad in the way of Allah is martyrdom, dying due to a stomach illness is also martyrdom, drowning in a river is also martyrdom, dying after falling from a mount is also martyrdom, and dying due to pleurisy is also martyrdom."
Hadith 9696
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَكْثَرَ مَا يُدْخِلُ النَّاسَ النَّارَ ، الْأَجْوَفَانِ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَمَا الْأَجْوَفَانِ ؟ ، قَالَ " الْفَرْجُ ، وَالْفَمُ " . قَالَ : " أَتَدْرُونَ أَكْثَرَ مَا يُدْخِلُ الْجَنَّةَ ؟ تَقْوَى اللَّهِ ، وَحُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two hollow things, that is, the mouth and the private parts, will take a person to Hell the most." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by the two hollow things?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The mouth and the private parts. Do you know that the things that will take people to Paradise the most in abundance are piety and good character?"
Hadith 9697
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَقُومَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَبِهِ أَذًى ، يَعْنِي الْبَوْلَ وَالْغَائِطَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any of you feels the need to urinate or defecate, he should not stand for prayer.
Hadith 9698
حَدَّثَنَا تَلِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَجَّافِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : نَظَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ ، وَالْحَسَنِ ، وَالْحُسَيْنِ ، وَفَاطِمَةَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَنَا حَرْبٌ لِمَنْ حَارَبَكُمْ ، وَسِلْمٌ لِمَنْ سَالَمَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked upon Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), Husain (may Allah be pleased with him), and Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), and said: "I declare war against the one who fights you, and I declare peace for the one who maintains peace with you."
Hadith 9699
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سُهَيْلَ بْنَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ يَذْكُرُ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمْ بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَصَلُّوا أَرْبَعًا ، فَإِنْ عَجِلَ بِكَ شَيْءٌ فَصَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ إِذَا رَجَعْتَ " . قَالَ ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ : وَلَا أَدْرِي هَذَا مِنْ حَدِيثِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَمْ لَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you wish to offer voluntary prayers after Jumu'ah, then first offer four rak'ahs. If you are in a hurry for some reason, then offer two rak'ahs in the mosque and the remaining two rak'ahs after returning home.
Hadith 9700
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَفْضَلُ الْإِيمَانِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِيمَانٌ لَا شَكَّ فِيهِ ، وَغَزْوٌ لَا غُلُولَ فِيهِ ، وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ " . قَالَ : فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ يُكَفِّرُ خَطَايَا تِلْكَ السَّنَةِ . قَالَ مَرْوَانُ : أَشُكُّ فِيهِ : عَنْ الْحَجَّاجِ الصَّوَّافِ ، أَوْ عَنْ هِشَامٍ ! .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The most virtuous deed in the sight of Allah is such faith in Allah in which there is no doubt, and such striving (jihad) in which there is no dishonesty, and an accepted Hajj (Hajj Mabroor). Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Hajj Mabroor becomes an expiation for all the sins of that year.
Hadith 9701
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا صَبِيحٌ أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا صَالِحٍ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ لَا يَسْأَلْهُ يَغْضَبْ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not ask from Allah, Allah becomes angry with him.
Hadith 9702
حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أُخْتِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تُنْزَعُ الرَّحْمَةُ إِلَّا مِنْ شَقِيٍّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Mercy is withdrawn only from the one who is himself wretched."
Hadith 9703
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ السَّائِبِ ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي ، وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي ، فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي شَيْئًا مِنْهُمَا أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي جَهَنَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has said, "Majesty is My upper garment and honor is My lower garment. Whoever disputes with Me regarding either of them, I will cast him into Hell."
Hadith 9704
حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ الصَّلْتِ بْنِ قُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ خَلِيلِي أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى لَا تَنْطَحَ ذَاتُ قَرْنٍ جَمَّاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard my beloved friend Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The Day of Judgment will not be established until the horned goat fights with the hornless goat.
Hadith 9705
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُوتِيتُ جَوَامِعَ الْكَلِمِ ، وَجُعِلَتْ لِي الْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been given comprehensive words, and the entire earth has been made a mosque and a means of purification for me.
Hadith 9706
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُطَوِّسِ ، عَنِ الْمُطَوِّسِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ ، لَمْ يَجْزِهِ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever leaves or breaks one fast of Ramadan without a valid excuse, then even if he fasts for his entire life, it will not suffice to make up for that one fast.
Hadith 9707
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعُمَيْسِ عُتْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ النِّصْفُ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ ، فَأَمْسِكُوا عَنِ الصَّوْمِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ رَمَضَانُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After the fifteenth of Sha'ban, stop fasting until Ramadan.
Hadith 9708
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْهِرُّ سَبُعٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The cat is (such) a predator (that does not prevent the angels of mercy from coming).
Hadith 9709
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ , لَا تَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا ، وَلَا تُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ ؟ أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you become complete believers, and you will not become complete believers until you love one another. Shall I not tell you something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread salam (greetings of peace) among yourselves.
