Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated with the previous chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: There is a cure for every disease in black seed except death.

It is narrated from Khawaja Hasan Basri as Mursal that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you hears the call to prayer (adhan) and a vessel is in his hand, he should not leave it until he has finished eating.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah). When they say the kalimah, they have protected their lives and wealth from me, except for the right of this kalimah, and their reckoning is with Allah. When the fitnah of apostasy spread, Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him): How can you fight them when I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this? Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: By Allah! I will not differentiate between prayer and zakat, and I will surely fight those who separate the two. Thus, we fought with him, and afterwards we saw goodness in this.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the zakat of donkeys. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has revealed this comprehensive and sufficient verse about them: "Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has taken it upon Himself regarding the person who sets out in His path that He will admit him to Paradise, or return him to his place of residence in such a state that he has obtained reward or spoils of war.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The imam is responsible and the muezzin is trustworthy. O Allah, guide the imams and forgive the muezzins.

And likewise it was narrated to us by Aswad, he said: Sharik narrated to us, from Al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Huraira, as Muhammad said: "Guide the leaders, and forgive the mu'adhins."

And likewise said, meaning Ibn Fudayl also.

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Disputing about the Qur'an is disbelief.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My heart desires that I should never remain behind any expedition sent out in the way of Allah, but I do not have enough means to provide mounts for all of them. I wish that I could fight in the way of Allah and attain martyrdom, then be granted life again, participate in jihad and be martyred, then participate in jihad and be martyred again.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), tell us of a deed that is equal to jihad." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You do not have the ability to do that" (he said this two or three times). The people said, "Please tell us, perhaps we can do it." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The example of the one who strives in the path of Allah is like that of a person who fasts during the day, stands in prayer at night, and humbles himself before the verses of Allah, and does not fall short in his fasting or prayer in any way, until the mujahid returns to his family."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A woman entered Hell because of a cat which she had tied up; she neither fed it nor gave it water, nor did she let it go free so that it could eat the insects of the earth by itself.

Abu Razin says that once I saw Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) striking his forehead with his hand. He was saying, "O Iraqi, do you think that I could falsely attribute something to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)? You would obtain something without effort and its burden would fall upon me. I bear witness that I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When the strap of one of you’s sandal breaks, he should not walk wearing the other sandal until he has fixed it. And when a dog puts its mouth in the vessel of one of you, he should not perform ablution from that vessel until he has washed it seven times."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs ablution on Friday and does it well, then comes for the Friday prayer, sits near the Imam, listens attentively and silently to his words, his sins will be forgiven up to the next Friday and for three additional days. And whoever plays with pebbles has engaged in idle activity.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If I am invited to a meal of only a foreleg, I will accept it, and if I am invited to a meal of only a foot, I will still accept it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The most burdensome prayers for the hypocrites are the Isha and Fajr prayers, but if they knew the reward of these two prayers, they would certainly attend them, even if they had to come crawling on their knees. My heart wishes that I order the muezzin to call the adhan and appoint a man to lead the prayer, then I go with some people carrying bundles of wood to those who do not attend the congregational prayer and set fire to their houses.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Only camels or horses may be raced.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sees me in a dream should be certain that he has seen me, for Satan cannot take my form or appearance.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person is fasting and forgetfully eats or drinks something, he should still complete his fast, for it is Allah who has fed him and given him drink.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The prayer is broken if a woman, a dog, or a donkey passes in front of the one who is praying.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Permission should be sought from a virgin girl for marriage, and consultation should be done with a previously married woman. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), (a virgin girl feels shy), so how should her permission be obtained?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Her silence is a sign of her consent.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Three groups each were presented before me who will be the first to enter Paradise and Hell. So among the three groups who will be the first to enter Paradise are: "the martyr," the slave who worships his Lord well and is also loyal to his master, and the modest man who, despite having many dependents, maintains his self-respect. And among the three groups who will be the first to enter Hell are: the ruler who forcibly imposes himself upon the people, the wealthy man who does not fulfill the rights of his wealth, and the poor man who boasts arrogantly.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog for purposes other than hunting or guarding fields or herds, then his reward will decrease by one qirat every day.

Anas bin Hakim, may Allah have mercy on him, says that when he faced danger during the time of Ziyad or Ibn Ziyad, he came to Madinah Munawwarah. He met Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, who asked me about my name and lineage. I told him, and he said, "O young man, shall I not narrate to you a hadith from which Allah may benefit you?" I said, "Why not, may Allah's mercy be upon you." He said: "On the Day of Resurrection, the first thing for which a servant will be called to account will be the obligatory prayer. The Lord will say to His angels—though He knows best—'Look at My servant's prayer, is it complete or deficient?' If it is complete, it will be recorded as complete. If it is incomplete, Allah the Exalted will say, 'See if My servant has any voluntary prayers.' If he has voluntary prayers, Allah will say, 'Complete My servant's obligatory prayers with his voluntary prayers.' After that, the same will be done with the rest of the obligatory deeds."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Does the person who raises his head before the Imam, while the Imam is still in prostration, not fear that Allah Almighty may turn his face into that of a donkey?

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Is there not anyone among you who can move a little forward, backward, to the right, or to the left while praying (so that those passing by are not troubled)?

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the month of Ramadan would approach, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "The month of Ramadan is coming to you, it is a blessed month. Allah has made its fasting obligatory upon you. In this blessed month, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained. In this month, there is a night which is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its goodness and blessings is truly deprived."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My Ummah has been excused for the whispers that arise in their minds; there will be no accountability for them as long as they do not act upon those whispers or express them with their tongues.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his blessed hand towards Yemen and said three times: "The faith of the people of Yemen is very excellent. The center of disbelief is towards the east, and pride and arrogance are found among the owners of camels."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade marrying a niece in the presence of her paternal aunt, or a paternal aunt in the presence of her niece, or a maternal niece in the presence of her maternal aunt, or a maternal aunt in the presence of her niece. And he said: Do not marry the younger in the presence of the elder, nor the elder in the presence of the younger.

Narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting among the people when a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is faith?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Faith is that you believe in Allah, His angels, His books, meeting Him, His messengers, and resurrection after death." He asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is Islam?" He replied, "Islam is that you worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, establish the obligatory prayers, pay the obligatory zakat, and fast in Ramadan." He asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is Ihsan?" He replied, "Ihsan is that you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him, and if you cannot achieve this state, then (know that) He sees you." He then asked, "O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The one being questioned knows no more than the questioner, but I will tell you its signs: when a slave woman gives birth to her master, that is a sign of the Hour; when the barefoot, naked, destitute shepherds compete in constructing tall buildings, that is a sign of the Hour; and there are five things whose knowledge is only with Allah." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "Indeed, Allah alone has knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in which land it will die."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a person has a partnership in a slave and he frees his share of the slave, then if he is wealthy, it is his responsibility to pay the full price for the slave's freedom. And if he is not wealthy, then the slave should be made to work in such a way to pay the remaining price that it does not become a burden on him (and after the payment of the remaining price, he will become completely free).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood before us to deliver a sermon, and in it, while mentioning the act of dishonesty in war booty, he clarified its identification very well and said: I should not find any one of you who, on the Day of Resurrection, brings a loudly crying camel on his neck and says, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), help me," and I say, "I cannot help you; I had conveyed the message to you." I should not find any one of you in such a way that he brings a bleating goat on his neck on the Day of Resurrection and says, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), help me," and I say, "I cannot help you; I had conveyed the message to you." I should not find any one of you in such a way that he brings a neighing horse on his neck on the Day of Resurrection and says, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), help me," and I say, "I cannot help you; I had conveyed the message to you." I should not find any one of you in such a way that he brings a person crying out on his neck on the Day of Resurrection and says, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), help me," and I say, "I cannot help you; I had conveyed the message to you." I should not find any one of you in such a way that he brings bundles of clothes loaded on his neck on the Day of Resurrection and says, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), help me," and I say, "I cannot help you; I had conveyed the message to you." I should not find any one of you in such a way that he brings gold and silver loaded on his neck on the Day of Resurrection and says, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), help me," and I say, "I cannot help you; I had conveyed the message to you."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every prophet certainly had a supplication that was accepted, and every prophet had his supplication accepted in this world, but I have reserved my supplication for the intercession of my Ummah. And, insha’Allah, this intercession will be granted to every person who dies in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Allah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the five prayers is like that of a river flowing at the door of one of you, in which he bathes five times a day.

The previous hadith is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) through another chain of transmission.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he never saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finding fault with any food; if he desired it, he would eat it, and if he did not desire it, he would remain silent.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has said, "Majesty is My upper garment and Honor is My lower garment. Whoever disputes with Me regarding either of them, I will cast him into Hell."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever repents before the event of the sun rising from the west, his repentance will be accepted.
