Hadith 9510
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ لَقِيَ الْحَسَنَ بن علي ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : " اكْشِفْ عَنْ بَطْنِكَ حَتَّى أُقَبِّلَ ، حَيْثُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُ مِنْهُ " ، قَالَ : فَكَشَفَ عَنْ بَطْنِهِ , فَقَبَّلَهُ .
Umair bin Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I was with Hazrat Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) when on the way we met Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). He said, "Show me the part of your body where the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) kissed you, so that I may also have the honor of kissing it." Upon this, Hazrat Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) lifted his shirt and Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) kissed his navel.
Hadith 9511
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " طُهُورُ إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ إِذَا وَلَغَ فِيهِ الْكَلْبُ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ ، أُولَاهُنَّ بِالتُّرَابِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a dog licks the utensil of any one of you, he should wash that utensil seven times and scrub it the first time.
Hadith 9512
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ , فَلْيُخَالِفْ مَا بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you prays in a single garment, he should place both ends of the garment over his shoulders from opposite sides.
Hadith 9513
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، وَيَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هارون , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ اسْمًا مِائَةٌ إِلَّا وَاحِدًا ، مَنْ أَحْصَاهَا كُلَّهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has one hundred, that is, ninety-nine beautiful names. Whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise. Indeed, Allah is Odd and He loves the odd number.
Hadith 9514
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِذَا ثُوِّبَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَسْعَى إِلَيْهَا أَحَدُكُمْ ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَمْشِ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّكِينَةُ وَالْوَقَارُ ، صَلِّ مَا أَدْرَكْتَ ، وَاقْضِ مَا سَبَقَكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not come running for prayer, rather come with calmness and tranquility. Whatever part of the prayer you catch, perform it, and complete what you have missed.
Hadith 9515
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا تُتْبَعُ الْجِنَازَةُ بِنَارٍ ، وَلَا صَوْتٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not take fire and sounds (musical instruments) along with the funeral procession.
Hadith 9516
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ فُلَانًا نَامَ الْبَارِحَةَ ، وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ شَيْئًا حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ . فَقَالَ : " بَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ فِي أُذُنِهِ " ، قَالَ يُونُسُ : قَالَ الْحَسَنُ : إِنَّ بَوْلَهُ وَاللَّهِ ثَقِيلٌ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, a man mentioned another person and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! So-and-so slept the whole night and did not even offer the Fajr prayer until morning came." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Satan has urinated in his ear."
Hadith 9517
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَأْخُذُ مِمَّا قَضَى اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ كَلِمَةً أَوْ ثِنْتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا أَوْ أَرْبَعًا أَوْ خَمْسًا ، فَيَجْعَلُهُنَّ فِي طَرَفِ رِدَائِهِ فَيَعْمَلُ بِهِنَّ وَيُعَلِّمُهُنَّ ؟ " . قُلْتُ : أَنَا . وَبَسَطْتُ ثَوْبِي ، وَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُ , حَتَّى انْقَضَى حَدِيثُهُ ، فَضَمَمْتُ ثَوْبِي إِلَى صَدْرِي ، فَأَنَا أَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ لَمْ أَنْسَ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I once heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Is there any man who, on behalf of Allah and His Messenger, would acquire one word or two, three, four, or five words, place them in the corner of his sheet, learn them, and teach them to others? I presented myself. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then spread your cloth. So I spread my cloth. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated the hadith and said: Attach it to your body. I pressed it to my chest. Because of this, I hope that after this, I have never forgotten any hadith that I heard from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 9518
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَسُمْ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى سَوْمِ أَخِيهِ ، وَلَا يَخْطُبْ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No man should send his proposal of marriage over the proposal of his brother, nor should he sell over the sale of his brother.
Hadith 9519
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ أَوْ قَارَضٍ ، لَا أَدْرِي شَكَّ إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَكَلَ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ , فَقَالَ : أَتَدْرُونَ مِمَّا تَوَضَّأْتُ ؟ ، إِنِّي أَكَلْتُ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ ، فَتَوَضَّأْتُ مِنْهُ ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ " .
Ibrahim bin Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I saw Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) eating pieces of cheese and then starting to perform ablution. Seeing me, he said, "Do you know why I am performing ablution from something?" I had eaten some pieces of cheese, and I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "Perform ablution after eating something cooked on fire."
Hadith 9520
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي زَيْنَبَ ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : ذُكِرَ الشَّهِيدُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : " لَا تَجِفُّ الْأَرْضُ مِنْ دَمِهِ ، حَتَّى تَبْتَدِرَهُ زَوْجَتَاهُ كَأَنَّهُمَا ظِئْرَانِ أَضَلَّتَا , فَصِيلَيْهِمَا فِي بَرَاحٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ بِيَدِ أَوْ قَالَ : فِي يَدِ كُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا حُلَّةٌ ، هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, in the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the mention of a martyr was made. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that the blood of the martyr does not even dry on the earth before his two heavenly wives reach him ahead of others, and they come leaping like deer who have left their young ones in some part of the earth to take shelter. Each of them has a pair (of garments) in her hand which is better than the world and whatever is in it.
Hadith 9521
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تُنْكَحُ النِّسَاءُ لِأَرْبَعٍ لِمَالِهَا ، وَجَمَالِهَا ، وَحَسَبِهَا ، وَدِينِهَا ، فَاظْفَرْ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A woman is married for four reasons: for her wealth, for her beauty, for her lineage, and for her religion. So select the religious one, may your hands be dusted.
Hadith 9522
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ يَسِيرُ ، فَلَعَنَ رَجُلٌ نَاقَةً ، فَقَالَ : " أَيْنَ صَاحِبُ النَّاقَةِ ؟ " . فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ : أَنَا . قَالَ : " أَخِّرْهَا فَقَدْ أُجِبْتَ فِيهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey. A man cursed his she-camel. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Where is the owner of the she-camel?" The man said, "I am present." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Take this she-camel back, for your words about her have been accepted."
Hadith 9523
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِكَثْرَةِ سُؤَالِهِمْ أَنْبِيَاءَهُمْ وَاخْتِلَافِهِمْ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَإِذَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فَانْتَهُوا ، وَإِذَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِأَمْرٍ فَأْتُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As long as I leave you regarding a matter, you too leave me regarding it, because the nations before you were destroyed only due to excessive questioning and differing with their prophets. Whatever I forbid you from, abstain from it, and whatever I command you to do, do it to the best of your ability."
Hadith 9524
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " الْمَرْأَةُ كَالضِّلَعِ فَإِنْ تَحْرِصْ عَلَى إِقَامَتِهِ تَكْسِرْهُ ، وَإِنْ تَتْرُكْهُ تَسْتَمْتِعْ بِهِ وَفِيهِ عِوَجٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A woman is like a rib; if you try to straighten her, you will break her, and if you leave her as she is, you will benefit from her despite her crookedness.
Hadith 9525
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . وَأَبَا الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ عَلَيْكَ فِي بَيْتِكَ فَحَذَفْتَهُ بِحَصَاةٍ فَفَقَأْتَ عَيْنَهُ ، لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلَيْكَ جُنَاحٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a man looks into your house without your permission and you throw a pebble at him which causes his eye to be damaged, there is no sin upon you.
Hadith 9526
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْمُكْثِرُونَ هُمْ الْأَسْفَلُونَ ، إِلَّا مَنْ قَالَ بِالْمَالِ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا " , أَمَامَهُ وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ وَخَلْفَهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who possess abundant wealth and riches will be the lowest, except for those who distribute it with both hands to their right, left, and in front of them."
Hadith 9527
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُقْبَضَ الْعِلْمُ ، وَيَظْهَرَ الْجَهْلُ ، وَيَكْثُرَ الْهَرْجُ " ، قِيلَ : وَمَا الْهَرْجُ ؟ ، قَالَ : " الْقَتْلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until knowledge is taken away, ignorance prevails, and "harj" becomes widespread. Someone asked, "What is the meaning of harj?" He replied, "Killing."
Hadith 9528
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ يَبْلَى وَيَأْكُلُهُ التُّرَابُ ، إِلَّا عَجْبَ الذَّنَبِ ، مِنْهُ خُلِقَ ، وَفِيهِ يُرَكَّبُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The earth will consume the entire body of the son of Adam except for the coccyx (tailbone), for from it man will be created and from it his composition will be made.
Hadith 9529
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ , فَيُنَادِيَ : " أَنْ لَا صَلَاةَ ، إِلَّا بِقِرَاءَةِ فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَمَا زَادَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that it be announced outside that there is no prayer without the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and another Surah along with it.
Hadith 9530
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، وَحَجَّاجٌ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُحِبُّ الْعُطَاسَ ، وَيَكْرَهُ التَّثَاؤُبَ ، فَمَنْ عَطَسَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ ، فَحَقٌّ عَلَى مَنْ سَمِعَهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ : يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ ، وَإِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَرُدَّهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ ، وَلَا يَقُلْ : آهْ آهْ , فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا فَتَحَ فَاهُ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَضْحَكُ مِنْهُ أَوْ بِهِ " . قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : " وَأَمَّا التَّثَاؤُبُ ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty likes sneezing and dislikes yawning. Therefore, when a person sneezes and says "Alhamdulillah," it is the right of every listener to say "Yarhamukallah." And when someone yawns, he should try his best to restrain it and not say "Ha Ha," because when a person opens his mouth to yawn and says "Ha Ha," it is Satan who laughs from inside his belly.
Hadith 9531
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " الْأَبْعَدُ فَالْأَبْعَدُ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ ، أَعْظَمُ أَجْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The farther a person comes from to the mosque, the greater is his reward.
Hadith 9532
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَجْلَانُ مَوْلَى الْمُشْمَعِلِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تُسَابَّ وَأَنْتَ صَائِمٌ ، وَإِنْ سَبَّكَ إِنْسَانٌ , فَقُلْ : إِنِّي صَائِمٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you is fasting, he should not utter any abusive or foul words, and if someone wants to fight or abuse him, he should simply say, "I am fasting."
Hadith 9533
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيْدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ إِذْ قَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ , نَاوِلِينِي الثَّوْبَ " . قَالَتْ : إِنِّي لَسْتُ أُصَلِّي . قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِي يَدِكِ " ، فَنَاوَلَتْهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her), "Hand me the cloth." She said, "I cannot pray." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your impurity is not in your hand." So she handed the cloth to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 9534
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : عَرَّسْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَلَمْ نَسْتَيْقِظْ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لِيَأْخُذْ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ بِرَأْسِ رَاحِلَتِهِ ، فَإِنَّ هَذَا مَنْزِلٌ حَضَرَنَا فِيهِ الشَّيْطَانُ " ، قَالَ : فَفَعَلْنَا ، قَالَ فَدَعَا بِالْمَاءِ فَتَوَضَّأَ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ ، ثُمَّ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَصَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while we were on a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we camped during the last part of the night. After sleeping, we did not wake up until before sunrise. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Let every man hold the head of his mount (and leave this place), for Satan has prevailed over us at this place." So we did as he instructed. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for water and performed ablution, then he offered the two Sunnah rak'ahs before the Fajr prayer, then the Iqamah was called and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the Fajr prayer.
Hadith 9535
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " احْشُدُوا فَإِنِّي سَأَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكُمْ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ " ، قَالَ : فَحَشَدَ مَنْ حَشَدَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ , فَقَرَأَ : قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُنَا لِبَعْضٍ : هَذَا خَبَرٌ جَاءَهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ ، فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي أَدْخَلَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنِّي قَدْ قُلْتُ لَكُمْ : إِنِّي سَأَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكُمْ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ ، وَإِنَّهَا تَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ " .
Narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Gather together, I will recite to you one third of the Qur'an." So those who were to gather, gathered. After a short while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out of the house and recited Surah Ikhlas, then went back into the house. We began saying to one another that perhaps revelation is being sent down upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that is why he has gone inside. But after a short while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and said, "I told you that I would recite to you one third of the Qur'an. Surah Ikhlas is equal to one third of the Qur'an."
Hadith 9536
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خِلَاسٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، وَالْحَسَنِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَتَى كَاهِنًا أَوْ عَرَّافًا فَصَدَّقَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ ، فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever goes to a soothsayer or astrologer and affirms what he says, then it is as if he has disbelieved in the Shariah revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 9537
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ أَوْ تَشَاجَرْتُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ ، فَدَعُوا سَبْعَةَ أَذْرُعٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When there is a dispute among you regarding the measurement of a path, then resolve it by agreeing upon seven cubits.
Hadith 9538
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى عَلَى رَجُلٍ تَرَكَ دِينَارَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَيَّتَانِ ، أَوْ ثَلَاثَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the funeral prayer of a man who had left behind two or three dinars (which were taken by committing treachery with the spoils of war). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These are coals of fire."
Hadith 9539
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every intoxicating thing is forbidden.
Hadith 9540
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ ابْنِ مَرْجَانَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً ، أَعْتَقَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ إِرْبٍ مِنْهَا إِرْبًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ "
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever frees a Muslim slave, Allah will free every limb of the one who frees him from Hell in exchange for every limb of that slave.
Hadith 9541
حَدَِّثَنَا مَكِيٌّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَ : أَعْتَقَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ إِرْبٍ مِنْهَا إِرْبًا مِنَ النَّارِ " .
Makkī narrated to us with this chain of transmission, and said: "Allah freed with every limb of it a limb from the Fire."
Hadith 9542
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو يَحْيَى مَوْلَى جَعْدَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مِنْ فَمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الْمُؤَذِّنُ يُغْفَرُ لَهُ مَدَّ صَوْتِهِ ، وَيَشْهَدُ لَهُ كُلُّ رَطْبٍ وَيَابِسٍ ، وَشَاهِدُ الصَّلَاةِ يُكْتَبُ لَهُ خَمْسٌ وَعِشْرُونَ حَسَنَةً ، وَيُكَفَّرُ عَنْهُ مَا بَيْنَهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wherever the voice of the muezzin reaches, forgiveness is granted to him due to its blessing, because every wet and dry thing bears witness in his favor. And for the one who participates in the congregational prayer, twenty-five good deeds are written, and the interval between two prayers becomes an expiation.
Hadith 9543
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ ، فَإِنَّ فِيهَا شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ إِلَّا السَّامَ " ، قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَمَا السَّامُ ؟ ، قَالَ : " الْمَوْتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Make the use of this black seed obligatory upon yourselves, for in it there is a cure for every disease except death.
Hadith 9544
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، وَيَعْلَى , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو مِثْلَهُ فِي الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 9545
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : وَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رِيحَ ثُومٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ أَكَلَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ الْخَبِيثَةِ ، فَلَا يَقْرَبَنَّ مَسْجِدَنَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smelled the odor of garlic in the mosque, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever eats from this foul tree (garlic) should not come near our mosque.
Hadith 9546
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْعُمْرَى مِيرَاثٌ لِأَهْلِهَا ، أَوْ جَائِزَةٌ لِأَهْلِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To dedicate something as a waqf (endowment) for a lifetime is valid, and it becomes the inheritance of that person.
Hadith 9547
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 9548
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خِلَاسٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ قَرِيبٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثِينَ دَجَّالِينَ كَذَّابِينَ ، كُلُّهُمْ يَقُولُ : أَنَا نَبِيٌّ ، أَنَا نَبِيٌّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Before the Day of Judgment, about thirty Dajjal and great liars will appear, each of whom will think that he is a messenger of Allah.
Hadith 9549
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي ، لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ، أَوْ مَعَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If I had not feared hardship for my ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak at the time of every prayer.
