Hadith 9394
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ عَمَّرَهُ اللَّهُ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً ، فَقَدْ أَعْذَرَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْعُمُرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever Allah has granted sixty years of life, Allah has left no excuse for him regarding his age."
Hadith 9395
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَكْثُرَ الْمَالُ وَيَفِيضَ ، حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ الرَّجُلُ بِزَكَاةِ مَالِهِ فَلَا يَجِدُ أَحَدًا يَقْبَلُهَا مِنْهُ ، وَحَتَّى تَعُودَ أَرْضُ الْعَرَبِ مُرُوجًا وَأَنْهَارًا ، وَحَتَّى يَكْثُرَ الْهَرْجُ " ، قَالُوا : وَمَا الْهَرْجُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " الْقَتْلُ ، الْقَتْلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until wealth becomes so abundant and widespread that a man will take out the zakat of his wealth but will not find anyone to accept it, and until the land of Arabia becomes filled with rivers and streams, and until "harj" becomes widespread. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by harj?" He replied, "Killing."
Hadith 9396
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْنَا السِّلَاحَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا ، وَمَنْ غَشَّنَا فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " .
It is narrated from the previous chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Whoever raises arms against us is not one of us, and whoever deceives us is not one of us.
Hadith 9397
وَقَالَ : " مَنْ ابْتَاعَ شَاةً مُصَرَّاةً فَهُوَ فِيهَا بِالْخِيَارِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ، فَإِنْ شَاءَ أَمْسَكَهَا ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ رَدَّهَا ، وَرَدَّ مَعَهَا صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ " .
And he said: Whoever buys a goat whose udder has been tied, then he has the option for three days either to keep the animal with him (and settle the matter) or to return the animal to the owner and give along with it one sa’ of dates.
Hadith 9398
وَقَالَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ الْيَهُودَ ، فَيَقْتُلَهُمْ الْمُسْلِمُونَ حَتَّى يَخْتَبِئَ الْيَهُودِيُّ وَرَاءَ الْحَجَرِ أَوْ الشَّجَرَةِ ، فَيَقُولُ الْحَجَرُ أَوْ الشَّجَرُ : يَا مُسْلِمُ , يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ , هَذَا يَهُودِيٌّ خَلْفِي فَتَعَالَ فَاقْتُلْهُ ، إِلَّا الْغَرْقَدَ , فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرِ الْيَهُودِ " .
And he said: The Hour will not be established until the Muslims fight the Jews, so the Muslims will kill them, to the extent that if a Jew hides behind a stone or a tree, that stone or tree will say: O servant of Allah, O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. But the Gharqad tree will not speak, for it is the tree of the Jews.
Hadith 9399
وَقَالَ : " مِنْ أَشَدِّ أُمَّتِي لِي حُبًّا , نَاسٌ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدِي يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ رَآنِي بِأَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ " .
And he said that among my Ummah, those who will love me the most will be the people who will come after me, and each one of them will wish that by spending his family and wealth, he could somehow attain the honor of seeing me.
Hadith 9400
وَقَالَ : " مَنْ تَوَلَّى قَوْمًا بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِ مَوَالِيهِ ، فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ ، لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ صَرْفًا وَلَا عَدْلًا " .
And he said: Whoever enters into a contract of allegiance with any people without the permission of his masters, upon him is the curse of Allah and all the angels. Allah will not accept any obligatory or voluntary act from him.
Hadith 9401
وَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا قَالَ الْقَارِئُ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، فَقَالَ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ : اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، فَوَافَقَ قَوْلُهُ ذَلِكَ قَوْلَ أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ : اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ , غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " .
And he said: When the imam says "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah" and the follower says "Allahumma Rabbana wa lakal hamd," and his statement coincides with the "Allahumma Rabbana lakal hamd" of those in the heavens, then all his past sins will be forgiven.
Hadith 9402
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُكَبِّرُ كُلَّمَا خَفَضَ وَرَفَعَ ، وَيُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ " .
Abu Salih (may Allah have mercy on him) says that whenever Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) would bow or raise his head during prayer, he would say the takbeer, and he would say that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do the same.
Hadith 9403
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " شَكَا النَّاسُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتْحَ مَا بَيْن الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ ، فَأَمَرَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنْ يَسْتَعِينُوا بِالرُّكَبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that some of the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) complained to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when they are corpulent, they find it difficult to perform prostration. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take help from your knees.
Hadith 9404
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ثِفَالٍ الْمُرِّيِّ ، عَنْ رَبَاحِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " دَمُ عَفْرَاءَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ دَمِ سَوْدَاوَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To me, killing a wicked animal is more beloved than killing a snake or a scorpion.
Hadith 9405
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " ذُو السُّوَيْقَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْحَبَشَةِ ، يُخَرِّبُ بَيْتَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A black man with thin shins will destroy the Kaaba.
Hadith 9405M
وَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَحْطَانَ ، يَسُوقُ النَّاسَ بِعَصَاهُ " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until a man from Qahtan drives the people with his staff.
Hadith 9406
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذْ نَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَلَمَّا قَرَأَ : وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ سورة الجمعة آية 3 ، قَالَ : مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ ، فَلَمْ يُرَاجِعْهُ النبي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى سَأَلَهُ مَرَّةً , أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ , أَوْ ثَلَاثًا , وَفِينَا سَلْمَانُ الْفَارِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : فَوَضَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ عَلَى سَلْمَانَ ، وَقَالَ : " لَوْ كَانَ الْإِيمَانُ عِنْدَ الثُّرَيَّا ، لَنَالَهُ رِجَالٌ مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were present in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when Surah Jumu’ah was revealed to him. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited: "wa akhareena minhum lamma yalhaqu bihim" (and others among them who have not yet joined them), someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who will these people be?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not answer him, until the questioner repeated the question two or three times. At that time, Hazrat Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) was also among us. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "If faith were near the Pleiades, some men from his people would attain it from there."
Hadith 9407
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَخَذَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ يُرِيدُ أَدَاءَهَا ، أَدَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، وَمَنْ أَخَذَهَا يُرِيدُ يَعْنِي تَلَفَهَا ، أَتْلَفَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever takes people's wealth (as a loan) with the intention of repaying it, Allah will have it repaid on his behalf; and whoever takes it with the intention of wasting it, Allah will have it wasted for him.
Hadith 9408
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " اخْتَتَنَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانِينَ سَنَةً بِالْقَدُومِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hazrat Ibrahim Khalilullah (peace be upon him) performed his circumcision at the age of eighty years. The place where he performed the circumcision was called "Qadoom."
Hadith 9409
وَقَالَ : " خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ ، فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ ، وَفِيهِ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَفِيهِ أُخْرِجَ مِنْهَا ، وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ " .
And the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The best day upon which the sun rises is the day of Friday. On this day, Adam, peace be upon him, was created; on this day, he was admitted into Paradise; and on this day, he was expelled from Paradise; and the Day of Resurrection will also occur on a Friday.
Hadith 9410
قَالَ : " وَقَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدِي لِقَائِي أَحْبَبْتُ لِقَاءَهُ ، وَإِذَا كَرِهَ لِقَائِي كَرِهْتُ لِقَاءَهُ " .
And the command of Allah, the Exalted, is: When My servant likes to meet Me, I also like to meet him, and when he dislikes meeting Me, I also dislike meeting him.
Hadith 9411
وَقَالَ : " رَأْسُ الْكُفْرِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ ، وَالْفَخْرُ وَالْخُيَلَاءُ فِي أَهْلِ الْخَيْلِ وَالْإِبِلِ , وَالْفَدَّادِينَ أَهْلِ الْوَبَرِ , وَالسَّكِينَةُ فِي أَهْلِ الْغَنَمِ " .
And he said: The center of disbelief is towards the east, pride and arrogance are found among the owners of camels and horses, tranquility and contentment are found among the owners of goats.
Hadith 9412
وَقَالَ : " تَجِدُونَ مِنْ خَيْرِ النَّاسِ أَشَدَّهُمْ كَرَاهِيَةً لِهَذَا الشَّأْنِ ، حَتَّى يَقَعَ فِيهِ " .
And he said: You will see that the person who showed the most aversion to accepting Islam, after accepting Islam, you will find that very person to be the best among you.
Hadith 9413
وَكَانَ إِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الْآخِرَةِ ، يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ عَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ الْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، اللَّهُمَّ اشْدُدْ وَطْأَتَكَ عَلَى مُضَرَ ، اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا سِنِينَ كَسِنِي يُوسُفَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " .
And when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would raise his head from the bowing (ruku) of the second rak'ah of the Fajr prayer, he would supplicate: O Allah! Grant deliverance to Walid bin Walid, Salamah bin Hisham, Ayyash bin Abi Rabi'ah, and the other weak ones in Makkah from the oppression and tyranny of the Quraysh. O Allah! Inflict a severe punishment upon the tribe of Mudar and impose upon them a famine like that which occurred in the time of Yusuf (peace be upon him).
Hadith 9414
وَقَالَ : " غِفَارٌ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهَا ، وَأَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللَّهُ " .
And he said: May Allah forgive the tribe of Ghifar, and may Allah grant safety to the tribe of Aslam.
Hadith 9415
وَقَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا ، وَلَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace be upon him), if you knew what I know, you would surely weep much and laugh little.
Hadith 9416
وَقَالَ : " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ " ، قَالُوا : فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَا مِثْلَكُمْ ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي ، فَاكْلَفُوا مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Protect yourselves from fasting continuously with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor)." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said this three times. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), you fast continuously in this manner." The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "You are not like me in this matter. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds me and gives me drink. Therefore, do only as much as you are able to bear."
Hadith 9417
وَقَالَ : " فِي الْجَنَّةِ شَجَرَةٌ يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ لَا يَقْطَعُهَا " .
And the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: In Paradise there is a tree such that if a rider were to travel in its shade for a hundred years, he would still not be able to cross it.
Hadith 9418
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى يَعْنِي الْمَخْزُومِيَّ ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ ، وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The prayer of the person who does not have ablution is not accepted, and the ablution of the one who does not begin with the name of Allah is not valid.
Hadith 9419
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْخَرَّاطِ ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " مَنْ جَاءَ مَسْجِدِي هَذَا ، لَمْ يَأْتِ إِلَّا لِخَيْرٍ يَتَعَلَّمُهُ فَهُوَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَمَنْ جَاءَ لِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ رَجُلٍ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى مَتَاعِ غَيْرِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever enters our mosque solely to learn or teach goodness is like a warrior in the path of Allah, and whoever comes for any other purpose is like someone who looks at something that belongs to someone else.
Hadith 9420
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : مَا رَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ، إِلَّا قَالَ : " يَا مُصَرِّفَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى طَاعَتِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that whenever the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head towards the sky, he would say: O Turner of hearts! Keep my heart steadfast upon Your obedience.
Hadith 9421
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَفْتَحُ الْإِنْسَانُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بَابَ مَسْأَلَةٍ ، إِلَّا فَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ بَابَ فَقْرٍ ، يَأْخُذُ الرَّجُلُ حَبْلَهُ فَيَعْمِدُ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ ، فَيَحْتَطِبُ عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ فَيَأْكُلُ بِهِ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ مُعْطًى أَوْ مَمْنُوعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever opens the door of "asking" upon himself, Allah opens the door of poverty and need upon him. A person should take a rope, go to the mountain, cut wood, carry it on his back, sell it, and eat from what he earns or give it in charity; this is much better than going to people and asking from them, whether they give him something or not, it is up to them.
Hadith 9422
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَرَّمَ كُلَّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared every predatory animal that hunts with its fangs to be forbidden.
Hadith 9423
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، أَنَّ سَعِيدَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ أَبَا الْحُبَابِ أخْبَرَهُ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ مُؤْمِنٍ تَصَدَّقَ بِصَدَقَةٍ مِنْ طَيِّبٍ وَلَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا طَيِّبًا ، وَلَا يَصْعَدُ إلى السَّمَاءَ إِلَّا طَيِّبٌ ، إِلَّا وَهُوَ يَضَعُهَا فِي يَدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَوْ فِي كَفِّ الرَّحْمَنِ ، فَيُرَبِّيهَا لَهُ كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ فَلُوَّهُ أَوْ فَصِيلَهُ حَتَّى إِنَّ التَّمْرَةَ لَتَكُونُ مِثْلَ الْجَبَلِ الْعَظِيمِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a servant gives charity from lawful wealth, Allah—Who accepts only what is lawful—accepts it and takes it with His right hand, and just as one of you raises and nurtures his young goat, likewise Allah nurtures it, until a single date becomes like a great mountain.
Hadith 9424
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ حُجَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ لِلْمَسَاجِدِ أَوْتَادًا الْمَلَائِكَةُ جُلَسَاؤُهُمْ ، إِنْ غَابُوا يَفْتَقِدُونَهُمْ ، وَإِنْ مَرِضُوا عَادُوهُمْ ، وَإِنْ كَانُوا فِي حَاجَةٍ أَعَانُوهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some people are the pegs of the mosque; the angels are their companions. If they are absent, the angels search for them; if they become ill, the angels visit them; and if they are occupied in some work, the angels help them.
Hadith 9425
وَقَالَ : " جَلِيسُ الْمَسْجِدِ عَلَى ثَلَاثِ خِصَالٍ : أَخٍ مُسْتَفَادٍ ، أَوْ كَلِمَةٍ مُحْكَمَةٍ ، أَوْ رَحْمَةٍ مُنْتَظَرَةٍ " .
And he said: In the companion of the mosque there are three qualities: a brother who brings benefit, a word of wisdom, or a mercy that is awaited.
Hadith 9426
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْعَرَقَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَيَذْهَبُ فِي الْأَرْضِ سَبْعِينَ بَاعًا ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيَبْلُغُ إِلَى أَفْوَاهِ النَّاسِ ، أَوْ إِلَى آنَافِهِمْ " . شَكَّ ثَوْرٌ بِأَيِّهِمَا قَالَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, people's sweat will go seventy cubits deep into the earth and will reach up to their mouths or ears.
Hadith 9427
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ عِنْدِي أُحُدًا ذَهَبًا ، يَأْتِي عَلَيَّ ثَالِثَةٌ وَعِنْدِي مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ ، إِلَّا شَيْءٌ أَرْصُدُهُ فِي قَضَاءِ دَيْنٍ يَكُونُ عَلَيَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If the mountain of Uhud were to turn into gold for me, I would be pleased that I spend it in the way of Allah, and not even three days should pass over me with a single dinar or dirham remaining with me, except for that which I keep aside for the repayment of a debt that is due upon me.
Hadith 9428
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ ، وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ ، فَأَرْشَدَ اللَّهُ الْأَئِمَّةَ وَغَفَرَ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The imam is responsible and the muezzin is trustworthy. O Allah! Guide the imams and forgive the muezzins.
Hadith 9429
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ ، فَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يُفْطِرُ ، وَفَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يَلْقَى رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from the previous chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: The fasting person experiences two occasions of joy and happiness; when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah, he will also be happy.
Hadith 9430
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ عَلَى حِرَاءٍ هُوَ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرُ ، وَعُثْمَانُ ، وَعَلِيٌّ ، وَطَلْحَةُ ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ ، فَتَحَرَّكَتْ الصَّخْرَةُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " اهْدَأْ فَمَا عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا نَبِيٌّ ، أَوْ صِدِّيقٌ ، أَوْ شَهِيدٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing on the Cave of Hira, and with him were Hazrat Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Talha, and Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them). Meanwhile, a rock of the mountain began to shake. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to it, "Stay still, for there is none upon you except a Prophet, a Siddiq, and a martyr."
Hadith 9431
وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ عُمَرُ ، نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ، نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ ، نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ ، نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ ، نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ مُعَاذُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْجَمُوحِ " .
And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Abu Bakr is the best man, Umar is the best man, Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah is the best man, Usaid bin Hudair is the best man, Thabit bin Qais is the best man, Mu’adh bin Jabal is the best man, Mu’adh bin Amr bin Al-Jamuh is the best man.
Hadith 9432
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي الْقَارِيَّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " كَانَ دَاوُدُ النَّبِيُّ فِيهِ غَيْرَةٌ شَدِيدَةٌ ، وَكَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ أُغْلِقَتْ الْأَبْوَابُ ، فَلَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ أَحَدٌ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ ، قَالَ : فَخَرَجَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَأُغْلِقَتِ الدَّارُ ، فَأَقْبَلَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ تَطَّلِعُ إِلَى الدَّارِ ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ قَائِمٌ وَسَطَ الدَّارِ ، فَقَالَتْ لِمَنْ فِي الْبَيْتِ : مِنْ أَيْنَ دَخَلَ هَذَا الرَّجُلُ الدَّارَ ، وَالدَّارُ مُغْلَقَةٌ ؟ ، وَاللَّهِ لَتُفْتَضَحُنَّ بِدَاوُدَ ، فَجَاءَ دَاوُدُ ، فَإِذَا الرَّجُلُ قَائِمٌ وَسَطَ الدَّارِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ دَاوُدُ : مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ : أَنَا الَّذِي لَا أَهَابُ الْمُلُوكَ ، وَلَا يَمْتَنِعُ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ . فَقَالَ دَاوُدُ : أَنْتَ وَاللَّهِ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ فَمَرْحَبًا بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ ، فَرَمَلَ دَاوُدُ مَكَانَهُ حَيْثُ قُبِضَتْ رُوحُهُ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ شَأْنِهِ , وَطَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ لِلطَّيْرِ : أَظِلِّي عَلَى دَاوُدَ ، فَأَظَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الطَّيْرُ حَتَّى أَظْلَمَتْ عَلَيْهِمَا الْأَرْضُ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا سُلَيْمَانُ : اقْبِضِي جَنَاحًا جَنَاحًا " . قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : يُرِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَتِ الطَّيْرُ ، وَقُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يده , وَغَلَبَتْ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَصْرَحِيَّةُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) had a great sense of protective jealousy. When he would leave the house, the doors of his house would be closed, and until his return, no one could go to his family. One day, as usual, he left his house and the doors were closed. His wife looked into the house and saw a man standing in the middle of the house. She asked the people present in the house, "The door of the house is closed, how did this man enter the house? By Allah! You will embarrass Dawood in front of him." After a short while, Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) returned and saw a man standing right in the middle of the house. He asked him, "Who are you?" He replied, "I am the one who does not fear kings, and nothing can stop me." Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) said, "By Allah! You are the Angel of Death. Welcome to the command of Allah," and he lay down on the ground, where his soul was taken, and the angel completed his task. When the sun rose, Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) ordered the birds to provide shade over Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him), so the birds gave him shade. Then, when darkness spread over the earth, Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) told the birds, "Fold your wings one by one." Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) demonstrated the state of the birds to us practically and closed his hand. On that day, the hawk with long wings prevailed.
