Hadith 7879
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ عَجْلَانَ مَوْلَى الْمُشْمَعِلِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ يَمَسُّهُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِأُصْبُعِهِ ، إِلَّا مَرْيَمَ ابْنَةَ عِمْرَانَ ، وَابْنَهَا عِيسَى عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَام " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every newborn child is pricked by Satan, but this did not happen with Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him) and his mother Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her).
Hadith 7880
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَرَأَى أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَرَسًا مِنْ رِقَاعٍ فِي يَدِ جَارِيَةٍ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا تَرَى هَذَا ؟ ! قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا يَعْمَلُ هَذَا مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةَ " .
It is narrated that once Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a cloth horse in the hand of a girl, so he said, "Look at this! The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is done by one who has no share in the Hereafter."
Hadith 7881
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُرَغِّبُ النَّاسَ فِي قِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ ، وَيَقُولُ : " مَنْ قَامَهُ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمَعَ النَّاسَ عَلَى الْقِيَامِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to encourage standing (in prayer) during Ramadan, but did not give a firm command, and used to say: Whoever stands (in prayer) during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not gather the people for standing (in prayer).
Hadith 7882
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " فُقِدَ سِبْطٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، وَذَكَرَ الْفَأْرَةَ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا تَرَى أَنَّكَ لَوْ أَدْنَيْتَ مِنْهَا لَبَنَ الْإِبِلِ لَمْ تَقْرَبْهُ ؟ وَإِنْ قَرَّبْتَ إِلَيْهَا لَبَنَ الْغَنَمِ شَرِبَتْهُ ؟ " فَقَالَ : أَكَذَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : " أَفَأَقْرَأُ التَّوْرَاةَ ؟ ! " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a group from the Children of Israel went missing and no one could find out where they went. I think that they became mice. Do you not observe that if camel’s milk is placed before a mouse, it does not drink it, but if goat’s milk is placed before it, it drinks it? Upon this, Ka’b Ahbar (may Allah have mercy on him), who was a newly converted Jewish scholar, said: “Did you hear this hadith directly from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?” I replied, “Do I read the Torah?”
Hadith 7883
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ هل سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الطِّيَرَةُ فِي ثَلَاثٍ : فِي الْمَسْكَنِ ، وَالْفَرَسِ ، وَالْمَرْأَةِ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : إِذاً أَقُولَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا لَمْ يَقُلْ ، وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أَصْدَقُ الطِّيَرَةِ الْفَأْلُ ، وَالْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ " .
Muhammad bin Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) says that someone asked Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Have you heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say that bad omen is found in three things: in a house, in a horse, and in a woman?" He replied, "If I answer in the affirmative, I would be attributing to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) something he did not say. However, I did hear the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say that the truest omen is a good omen, and the evil eye is real."
Hadith 7884
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْغَادِيَةَ الْيَمَامِيَّ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ ، فَدَعَاهُمْ ، فَمَا قَامَ إِلَّا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَخَمْسَةٌ معه ، أَنَا أَحَدُهُمْ ، فَذَهَبُوا فَأَكَلُوا ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ ، يَا أَهْلَ الْمَسْجِدِ ، إِنَّكُمْ لَعُصَاةٌ لِأَبِي الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Abu Ghadiah Yamami says that once I arrived in Madinah Munawwarah. There, the messenger of Kathir bin Salt came and invited the people there. But except for Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and five other men with him, among whom I was also one, no one stood up. These gentlemen went and ate food at his place. Then Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) came and washed his hands and said, "By Allah! You people are disobedient to Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Hadith 7885
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى عَلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ ، فَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer for Najashi and said four takbirs in it.
Hadith 7886
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " سَيْحَانُ ، وَجَيْحَانُ ، وَالنِّيلُ ، وَالْفُرَاتُ ، كُلٌّ مِنْ أَنْهَارِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet said: The river Euphrates, the river Nile, the river Jihun, and the river Sihun, all these are rivers of Paradise.
Hadith 7887
حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بُرْدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ومحمدُ بن عمرو ، عن أبي سَلَمة ، عن أبي هريرة ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ نَبِيٍّ وَلَا خَلِيفَةٍ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا وَلَهُ بِطَانَتَانِ ، بِطَانَةٌ تَأْمُرُهُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَاهُ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ ، وَبِطَانَةٌ لَا تَأْلُوهُ خَبَالًا ، وَمَنْ وُقِيَ شَرَّ بِطَانَةِ السُّوءِ فَقَدْ وُقِيَ ، يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثًا وَهُوَ مَعَ الْغَالِبَةِ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no prophet or ruler who does not have two types of advisors: one group commands him to do good and forbids him from evil, and the other group (in his misfortune) leaves no stone unturned in playing its role. Whoever is saved from the evil of this bad group is protected (he said this three times), otherwise, whoever is overcome by this group will be counted among them.
Hadith 7888
حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُبَارَكٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَنْشَقَ أَدْخَلَ الْمَاءَ مَنْخِرَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put water in his nose, he would insert water into his nostrils.
Hadith 7889
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي قُرَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي حُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ أَبِي حُرَّةَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْأَغَرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لِلطَّاعِمِ الشَّاكِرِ ، مِثْلُ مَا لِلصَّائِمِ الصَّابِرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The reward of the one who eats and gives thanks is like that of the one who fasts and is patient.
Hadith 7890
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي قُرَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلْمَانَ الْأَغَرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا يَنْبَغِي لِذِي الْوَجْهَيْنِ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَمِينًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not possible for a double-faced person to be trustworthy.
Hadith 7891
حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ النَّجَّارِ ، عَنْ طَيِّبِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُخَنَّثِي الرِّجَالِ الَّذِينَ يَتَشَبَّهُونَ بِالنِّسَاءِ ، وَالْمُتَرَجِّلَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ ، الْمُتَشَبِّهِينَ بِالرِّجَالِ ، وَالْمُتَبَتِّلِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ ، الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ : لَا نَتَزَوَّجُ ، وَالْمُتَبَتِّلَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ ، اللَّائِي يَقُلْنَ ذَلِكَ ، وَرَاكِبَ الْفَلَاةِ وَحْدَهُ ، فَاشْتَدَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، حَتَّى اسْتَبَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ ، وَقَالَ : الْبَائِتُ وَحْدَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Curse is upon men who imitate women and upon women who imitate men, and upon secluded men who say that they will not marry, and upon secluded women who say the same, and upon the one who travels alone in the wilderness." This matter affected the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) so much that its effects became visible on their faces, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also mentioned the one who spends the night alone.
Hadith 7892
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بُوذَوَيْهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ وَهْبًا يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَنِي ، يَعْنِي هَمَّامًا ، قال عبد الله بن أحمد : كَذَا قَالَ أَبِي ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَزَالُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا دَامَ يَنْتَظِرُ الَّتِي بَعْدَهَا ، وَلَا تَزَالُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تُصَلِّي عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مَا دَامَ فِي مَسْجِدِهِ ، تَقُولُ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ ، مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ " . قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ حَضْرَمَوْتَ : وَمَا ذَلِكَ الْحَدَثُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ؟ قَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ : إِنْ فَسَا أَوْ ضَرَطَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among you waits for the prayer, he is considered to be in prayer as long as he waits for it, and the angels continue to pray for his forgiveness as long as he remains seated at his place of prayer, and they keep saying: O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, have mercy on him, as long as he does not lose his ablution. A man from Hadramaut asked: O Abu Hurairah, what is meant by losing ablution? He replied: Allah is not shy of the truth; it means that wind passes from him or a loud sound comes out.
Hadith 7893
رقم الحديث : 7694 حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي ، فَسَبَّحَ لِي ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ إِذْنَ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا كَانَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ أَنْ يُسَبِّحَ ، وَإِنَّ إِذْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ أَنْ تُصَفِّقَ " .
Yazid bin Kaisan (may Allah have mercy on him) was once praying when Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd (may Allah have mercy on him) sought permission to enter. He said "Subhan Allah." After finishing the prayer, he said, "If a man is praying, saying 'Subhan Allah' should be considered as granting permission from him, and for a woman, clapping is her way of granting permission."
Hadith 7894
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7895
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَوْفٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7896
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وِتْرٌ ، يُحِبُّ الْوِتْرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely Allah is Odd and He loves the odd number.
Hadith 7897
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نُهِيَ عَنِ الِاخْتِصَارِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ " . قَالَ : قُلْنَا لِهِشَامٍ : مَا الِاخْتِصَارُ ؟ قَالَ : يَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَى خَصْرِهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي . قَالَ يَزِيدُ : قُلْنَا لِهِشَامٍ : ذَكَرَهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ بِرَأْسِهِ ، أَيْ : نَعَمْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade placing hands on the waist during prayer.
Hadith 7898
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَالَ إِذَا أَمْسَى ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ : أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ، لَمْ تَضُرَّهُ حُمَةٌ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ " . قَالَ : فَكَانَ أَهْلُنَا قَدْ تَعَلَّمُوهَا ، فَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَهَا ، فَلُدِغَتْ جَارِيَةٌ مِنْهُمْ ، فَلَمْ تَجِدْ لَهَا وَجَعًا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever recites these words three times in the evening: "I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created," no poisonous thing will harm him that night. Our family had learned this supplication and they used to recite it. Once, by chance, one of our girls was bitten by something, but she did not feel any pain at all.
Hadith 7899
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا شَهِدَ جَنَازَةً سَأَلَ : " هَلْ عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ دَيْنٌ ؟ " فَإِنْ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " هَلْ لَهُ وَفَاءٌ ؟ " فَإِنْ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ، وَإِنْ قَالُوا : لَا ، قَالَ : " صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ " ، فَلَمَّا فَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهِ الْفُتُوحَ ، قَالَ : " أَنَا أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ ، فَمَنْ تَرَكَ دَيْنًا فَعَلَيَّ ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when a funeral was brought to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he would first ask, "Does this person have any debt?" If people said, "Yes," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would ask, "Has he left anything to pay it off?" If people said, "Yes," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would lead the funeral prayer. But if they replied in the negative, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say, "You should offer the funeral prayer of your companion yourselves." Then Allah opened the doors of conquest, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) announced, "I have more right over the believers than their own selves, so whoever dies leaving a debt, its payment is my responsibility, and whoever leaves wealth, it is for his heirs."
Hadith 7900
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مِكْرَزٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الرَّجُلُ يُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَهُوَ يَبْتَغِي عَرَضَ الدُّنْيَا ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا أَجْرَ لَهُ " ، فَأَعْظَمَ النَّاسُ ذَلِكَ ، وَقَالُوا لِلرَّجُلِ : عُدْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، لَعَلَّهُ لَمْ يَفْهَمْ . فَعَادَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الرَّجُلُ يُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَهُوَ يَبْتَغِي عَرَضَ الدُّنْيَا ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا أَجْرَ لَهُ " ، ثُمَّ عَادَ الثَّالِثَةَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا أَجْرَ لَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man presented himself in the court of the Messenger and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a man intends to perform jihad in the way of Allah, but his purpose is to acquire worldly goods?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He will not receive any reward." This was very burdensome for the people. They said to that man, "Ask the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the matter again; perhaps the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not understand the question well." He asked the same question again, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the same answer. He asked the same question a third time, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again gave the same answer.
Hadith 7901
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ صَلَاةٍ لَا يُقْرَأُ فِيهَا بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ ، فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ ، ثُمَّ هِيَ خِدَاجٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Any prayer in which Surah Al-Fatiha is not recited is incomplete, incomplete.
Hadith 7902
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ الضَّبِّيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : إِذَا أَتَيْتَ أَهْلَ مِصْرِكَ فَأَخْبِرْهُمْ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أَوَّلُ شَيْءٍ ما يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ صَلَاتُهُ الْمَكْتُوبَةُ ، فَإِنْ صَلَحَتْ وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ مَرَّةً : فَإِنْ أَتَمَّهَا ، وَإِلَّا زِيدَ فِيهَا مِنْ تَطَوُّعِهِ ، ثُمَّ يُفْعَلُ بِسَائِرِ الْأَعْمَالِ الْمَفْرُوضَةِ كَذَلِكَ " .
Anas bin Hakeem, may Allah have mercy on him, says that Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said to me: When you reach your townspeople, inform them that I heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: On the Day of Resurrection, the first thing for which a servant will be called to account will be the obligatory prayers. If they are found to be correct, then very good; otherwise, they will be supplemented with voluntary prayers. After that, the same will be done with the other obligatory deeds.
Hadith 7903
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَنْزِلُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ، فَيَقْتُلُ الْخِنْزِيرَ ، وَيَمْحُو الصَّلِيبَ ، وَتُجْمَعُ لَهُ الصَّلَاةُ ، وَيُعْطَى الْمَالُ حَتَّى لَا يُقْبَلَ ، وَيَضَعُ الْخَرَاجَ ، وَيَنْزِلُ الرَّوْحَاءَ ، فَيَحُجُّ مِنْهَا أَوْ يَعْتَمِرُ ، أَوْ يَجْمَعُهُمَا " . قَالَ : وَتَلَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : وَإِنْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ إِلا لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهِ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا سورة النساء آية 159 ، فَزَعَمَ حَنْظَلَةُ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ : عِيسَى . فَلَا أَدْرِي ، هَذَا كُلُّهُ حَدِيثُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ شَيْءٌ قَالَهُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ؟ ! .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him) will descend, he will break the cross, kill the swine, establish prayer, abolish the jizya, and wealth will flow like water to the extent that there will be no one left to accept it. He will halt at Rauha and from there will enter into the state of ihram for Hajj or Umrah or both. Then Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: "There is none among the People of the Book but will believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them." Hanzala says that Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) considers the subject of "his death" to be Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him). Now I do not know whether this is a complete hadith or the saying of Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 7904
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قُرَيْشٌ ، وَالْأَنْصَارُ ، وَجُهَيْنَةُ ، وَمُزَيْنَةُ ، وَأَسْلَمُ ، وَغِفَارٌ ، وَأَشْجَعُ : مَوَالِيَّ ، لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مَوْلًى دُونَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Quraysh, Ansar, Juhaina, Muzaina, Aslam, Ghifar, and Ashja' tribes are my allies. They have no protector except Allah and His Messenger."
Hadith 7905
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، الْمَعْنَى ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَرَجْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ وَقَدْ بُيِّنَتْ لِي لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ومَسِيحُ الضَّلَالَةِ ، فَكَانَ تَلَاحٍ بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ بِسُدَّةِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَأَتَيْتُهُمَا لِأَحْجِزَ بَيْنَهُمَا ، فَأُنْسِيتُهُمَا ، وَسَأَشْدُو لَكُمْ مِنْهُمَا شَدْوًا : أَمَّا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ، فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ وِتْرًا ، وَأَمَّا مَسِيحُ الضَّلَالَةِ ، فَإِنَّهُ أَعْوَرُ الْعَيْنِ ، أَجْلَى الْجَبْهَةِ ، عَرِيضُ النَّحْرِ ، فِيهِ دَفَاً ، كَأَنَّهُ قَطَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى " ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ يَضُرُّنِي شَبَهُهُ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا ، أَنْتَ امْرُؤٌ مُسْلِمٌ ، وَهُوَ امْرُؤٌ كَافِرٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I had set out from my house to come to you. In fact, the determination of Laylat al-Qadr and the False Messiah (Dajjal) had been made clear to me, but near one of the doors of the mosque, there was a dispute between two men. When I came to resolve the matter between them, I forgot both things. However, I will give you some indication of its sign. As far as Laylat al-Qadr is concerned, seek it in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan. As for the False Messiah, he will be blind in one eye, with a broad forehead and a wide chest. There will be a slant of the shoulder towards the chest in his body, and he will resemble Qatan bin Abd al-Uzza. Upon hearing this, Qatan said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), will this resemblance be harmful to me?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No, you are a Muslim man and he will be a disbeliever."
Hadith 7906
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجَارِيَةٍ سَوْدَاءَ أَعْجَمِيَّةٍ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ عَلَيَّ عِتْقَ رَقَبَةٍ مُؤْمِنَةٍ . فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيْنَ اللَّهُ ؟ " ، فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ بِإِصْبَعِهَا السَّبَّابَةِ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : " مَنْ أَنَا ؟ " ، فَأَشَارَتْ بِإِصْبَعِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ ، أَيْ أَنْتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَعْتِقْهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man brought a black non-Arab slave girl to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), it is obligatory upon me to free a Muslim slave (can I free her?)" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the slave girl, "Where is Allah?" She pointed towards the sky with her index finger. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her, "Who am I?" She pointed with her finger towards the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and towards the sky, meaning that you are the Messenger of Allah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Free her."
Hadith 7907
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أخبرنا الْمَسْعُودِيِّ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْثَرِ مَا يَلِجُ النَّاسُ بِهِ النَّارَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " الْأَجْوَفَانِ : الْفَمُ وَالْفَرْجُ " . وَسُئِلَ عَنْ أَكْثَرِ مَا يَلِجُ الناس بِهِ الْجَنَّةَ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that someone asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Which thing will cause people to enter Hell in the greatest numbers?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "The two hollow things, that is, the mouth and the private parts." Then it was asked: "Which thing will cause people to enter Paradise in the greatest numbers?" He replied: "Good character."
Hadith 7908
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَرْبَعٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَنْ يَدَعَهُنَّ النَّاسُ : التَّعْيِيرُ فِي الْأَحْسَابِ ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ ، وَالْأَنْوَاءُ ، والعَدْوى : َأَجْرَبَ بَعِيرٌ فَأَجْرَبَ مِائَةً ، مَنْ أَجْرَبَ الْبَعِيرَ الْأَوَّلَ ؟ ! " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are four things from the time of ignorance that people will never abandon: finding fault in lineage, wailing over the dead, attributing rain to the stars, and considering disease to be contagious. If a camel becomes afflicted with mange and it infects a hundred other camels, then who afflicted the first camel with mange?
Hadith 7909
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَقُولُوا لِحَائِطِ الْعِنَبِ : الْكَرْمَ ، فَإِنَّمَا الْكَرْمُ الرَّجُلُ الْمُؤْمِنُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not call a vineyard "Karam" (noble), for the real "Karam" (noble one) is the believing man.
Hadith 7910
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يُخْبِرُ ، أَبَا قَتَادَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يُبَايَعُ لِرَجُلٍ مَا بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ وَالْمَقَامِ ، وَلَنْ يَسْتَحِلَّ الْبَيْتَ إِلَّا أَهْلُهُ ، فَإِذَا اسْتَحَلُّوهُ ، فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْ هَلَكَةِ الْعَرَبِ ، ثُمَّ تَأْتِي الْحَبَشَةُ ، فَيُخَرِّبُونَهُ خَرَابًا لَا يَعْمُرُ بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا ، وَهُمْ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَخْرِجُونَ كَنْزَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man will be pledged allegiance to between the Black Stone and the Station of Ibrahim, and the guardians of the sanctity of the House of Allah will violate its sanctity. And when people violate the sanctity of the House of Allah, then do not ask about the destruction of the Arabs. Rather, the Abyssinians will come and they will ruin it in such a way that it will never be inhabited again, and these will be the people who will extract its treasure.
Hadith 7911
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِنْ سَكِرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ " . قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ سَكْرَانَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ ، فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drinks alcohol, flog him. If he drinks again, then flog him again. If he drinks a third time, then flog him again. And if he drinks a fourth time, then kill him. Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) says: However, a man was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who had drunk alcohol for the fourth time, yet the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) let him go.
Hadith 7912
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّهَا سَتَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ سِنُونَ خَدَّاعَةٌ ، يُصَدَّقُ فِيهَا الْكَاذِبُ ، وَيُكَذَّبُ فِيهَا الصَّادِقُ ، وَيُؤْتَمَنُ فِيهَا الْخَائِنُ ، وَيُخَوَّنُ فِيهَا الْأَمِينُ ، وَيَنْطِقُ فِيهَا الرُّوَيْبِضَةُ " ، قِيلَ : وَمَا الرُّوَيْبِضَةُ يا رسول الله ؟ قَالَ : " السَّفِيهُ يَتَكَلَّمُ فِي أَمْرِ الْعَامَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon there will come upon the people such years of deception in which the liar will be considered truthful and the truthful will be considered a liar, the dishonest will be regarded as trustworthy and the trustworthy will be regarded as dishonest, and in those days the "ruwaibidhah" will speak. Someone asked, "What is meant by ruwaibidhah?" He replied, "The foolish person will begin to speak in matters concerning the general public."
Hadith 7913
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ ، وَإِسْرَافِي ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي ، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate as follows: O Allah, forgive my former and latter sins, my hidden and apparent sins, and my transgressions, and also forgive those sins which You know better than I do. You are the One Who brings forward and delays, and there is no deity except You.
Hadith 7914
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ حِينَ حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ : لَا تَضْرِبُوا عَلَيَّ فُسْطَاطًا ، وَلَا تَتْبَعُونِي بِمِجْمَرٍ ، وَأَسْرِعُوا بِي ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا وُضِعَ الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ قَالَ : قَدِّمُونِي قَدِّمُونِي ، وَإِذَا وُضِعَ الرَّجُلُ السُّوءُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ قَالَ : يَا وَيْلَهُ ! أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ بِي ؟ " .
Abdur Rahman bin Mehran, may Allah have mercy on him, says that when the time of death of Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, approached, he said: "Do not set up any tent over me, do not take fire with me, and take me quickly, because I heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: When a righteous man is placed on the bier, he says, 'Take me forward quickly, take me forward quickly,' and if a sinful man is placed on the bier, he says, 'Alas, where are you taking me?'"
Hadith 7915
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ يَمَسُّهُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ ، إِلَّا مَرْيَمَ وَابْنَهَا عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَام " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every newborn child is pricked by Satan with his finger, but this did not happen with Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him) and his mother Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her).
Hadith 7916
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ رِجَالٌ مِمَّنْ حَوْلَ الْمَسْجِدِ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ فِي الْجَمِيعِ ، أَوْ لَأُحَرِّقَنَّ حَوْلَ بُيُوتِهِمْ بِحُزَمِ الْحَطَبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Those people living around the mosque who do not come for the Isha prayer should refrain from abandoning the prayer, otherwise I will gather bundles of wood at their houses and set them on fire.
Hadith 7917
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أُعْطِيَتْ أُمَّتِي خَمْسَ خِصَالٍ فِي رَمَضَانَ ، لَمْ تُعْطَهَا أُمَّةٌ قَبْلَهُمْ : خُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ ، وَتَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى يُفْطِرُوا ، وَيُزَيِّنُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ جَنَّتَهُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " يُوشِكُ عِبَادِي الصَّالِحُونَ أَنْ يُلْقُوا عَنْهُمْ الْمَئُونَةَ وَالْأَذَى وَيَصِيرُوا إِلَيْكِ ، وَيُصَفَّدُ فِيهِ مَرَدَةُ الشَّيَاطِينِ ، فَلَا يَخْلُصُوا إِلَى مَا كَانُوا يَخْلُصُونَ إِلَيْهِ فِي غَيْرِهِ ، وَيُغْفَرُ لَهُمْ فِي آخِرِ لَيْلَةٍ " . قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَهِيَ لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، وَلَكِنَّ الْعَامِلَ إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى أَجْرَهُ إِذَا قَضَى عَمَلَهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My Ummah has been given five things in Ramadan which were not given to any Ummah before it. The breath of the fasting person is purer to Allah than the fragrance of musk. The angels keep seeking forgiveness for them until they break their fast. Allah Almighty adorns Paradise every day and says: Soon My righteous servants will cast aside hardship and toil and come to you. In this month, the rebellious devils are chained, so the freedom they have outside of Ramadan, they do not have in this month. And on the last night of Ramadan, the fasting people are forgiven. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah, is that the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr)? He replied: No, but the fact is that when a laborer completes his work, he is given his full wages.
Hadith 7918
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَكْرَةً ، فَعَوَّضَهُ منها سِتَّ بَكَرَاتٍ ، فَتَسَخَّطَهُ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنَّ فُلَانًا أَهْدَى إِلَيَّ نَاقَةً ، وَهِيَ نَاقَتِي ، أَعْرِفُهَا كَمَا أَعْرِفُ بَعْضَ أَهْلِي ، ذَهَبَتْ مِنِّي يَوْمَ زَغَابَاتٍ ، فَعَوَّضْتُهُ سِتَّ بَكَرَاتٍ ، فَظَلَّ سَاخِطًا ، لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أَقْبَلَ هَدِيَّةً إِلَّا مِنْ قُرَشِيٍّ ، أَوْ أَنْصَارِيٍّ ، أَوْ ثَقَفِيٍّ ، أَوْ دَوْسِيٍّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin presented a young camel as a gift to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him six young camels in return, but he was still not pleased. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of this, after praising and glorifying Allah, he said: "Such-and-such a man gave me a camel as a gift, even though it was my own camel, and I used to recognize it just as I recognize a member of my household. On the occasion of the Day of Zaghābāt, it had slipped from my hand (but still I accepted it), and I gave him six young camels, yet he is still not pleased. I am now inclined not to accept any gift from anyone except one who belongs to the Quraysh, or the Ansar, or Thaqif, or Daws."
