Hadith 7959
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ مِنْ آلِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلًى لِأَبِي رُهْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ امْرَأَةً ، فَوَجَدَ مِنْهَا رِيحَ إِعْصَارٍ طَيِّبَةً ، فَقَالَ لَهَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : الْمَسْجِدَ تُرِيدِينَ ؟ قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : وَلَهُ تَطَيَّبْتِ ؟ قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ . قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ تَطَيَّبَتْ لِلْمَسْجِدِ فَيَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ لَهَا صَلَاةً حَتَّى تَغْتَسِلَ مِنْهُ اغْتِسَالَهَا مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ " ، فَاذْهَبِي فَاغْتَسِلِي .
It is narrated from the freed slave of Abu Ruhm that once Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) encountered a woman who had applied perfume. He asked her, "Are you intending to go to the mosque?" She replied, "Yes." He asked, "Is it for this reason that you have applied perfume?" She replied, "Yes!" He said, "The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Any woman who leaves her house having applied perfume with the intention of going to the mosque, Allah does not accept her prayer until she returns home and washes it off in the manner of washing after impurity.' Therefore, go and wash it off."
Hadith 7960
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ فُرَاتٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : قَاعَدْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ خَمْسَ سِنِينَ ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانَتْ تَسُوسُهُمْ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ ، كُلَّمَا هَلَكَ نَبِيٌّ خَلَفَ نَبِيٌّ ، وَإِنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي ، إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ خُلَفَاءُ فَتَكْثُرُ " ، قَالُوا : فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا ؟ قَالَ : " فُوابِبَيْعَةِ الْأَوَّلِ فَالْأَوَّلِ ، وَأَعْطُوهُمْ حَقَّهُمْ الَّذِي جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَائِلُهُمْ عَمَّا اسْتَرْعَاهُمْ " .
Abu Hazim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I had the honor of sitting with Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) for five years. I heard him narrate this hadith of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Among the Children of Israel, the affairs of the state used to be managed by the Prophets (peace be upon them). When one Prophet passed away, another Prophet would succeed him. But after me, since there will be no Prophet, there will be caliphs in this Ummah and they will be many. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "Then what do you command us?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Fulfill the pledge of allegiance to each one according to his turn, and give them the right that Allah has prescribed for them, for Allah Himself will question them regarding their subjects."
Hadith 7961
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَاصِمٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَخْبِرْنِي بِشَيْءٍ أَقُولُهُ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتُ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتُ ، قَالَ : " قُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَشَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ ، قُلْهُ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ ، وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ ، وَإِذَا أَخَذْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted in the court of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), teach me a supplication which I may recite in the morning and evening." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Say: O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the seen and the unseen, Sustainer and Owner of everything, I bear witness that there is no deity except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self, from the evil of Satan, and from his associating (others with You). Recite these words in the morning, evening, and when you lie down on your bed."
Hadith 7962
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرَاهِيجَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَيْنِ التَّمْرَ وَالْمَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we had nothing to eat except two black things: dates and water.
Hadith 7963
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرَاهِيجَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : هَجَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسَاءَهُ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ : شَهْرًا ، فَأَتَاهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، وَهُوَ فِي غُرْفَةٍ عَلَى حَصِيرٍ ، قَدْ أَثَّرَ الْحَصِيرُ بِظَهْرِهِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كِسْرَى يَشْرَبُونَ فِي الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ ، وَأَنْتَ هَكَذَا ! فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّهُمْ عُجِّلَتْ لَهُمْ طَيِّبَاتُهُمْ فِي حَيَاتِهِمْ الدُّنْيَا " . ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الشَّهْرُ تِسْعَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ ، هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ، وَكَسَرَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ الْإِبْهَامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left his pure wives (for a month). Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at that time, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in a room on a mat, the marks of which had appeared on the blessed back of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Seeing this, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, (Caesar and) Chosroes drink water in vessels of gold and silver, and you remain in this condition?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Those people have been given good things quickly in this worldly life." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Sometimes the month is also of twenty-nine days, this much, this much," and the third time he folded his thumb.
Hadith 7964
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّهُ كَانَ " يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَعَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ ، وَفِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge from the punishment of Hell, the punishment of the grave, and the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal).
Hadith 7965
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ ، يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّهُمْ أَصَابَهُمْ جُوعٌ ، قَالَ : وَنَحْنُ سَبْعَةٌ ، قال : " فَأَعْطَانِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعَ تَمَرَاتٍ ، لِكُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ تَمْرَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were afflicted by hunger; we were seven people. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me seven dates, one date for each person.
Hadith 7966
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَهَاشِمٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَلْجٍ قَالَ هَاشِمٌ : أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ قَالَ هَاشِمٌ : أَفَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْعَرْشِ : لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : " أَسْلَمَ عَبْدِي وَاسْتَسْلَمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shall I not teach you a word which is a treasure of Paradise and has come from beneath the Throne? That word is "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah." Upon hearing this, Allah says: My servant has submitted and entrusted himself.
Hadith 7967
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَهَاشِمٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ هَاشِمٌ : أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ ، سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَيْمُونٍ ، وقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : عَنْ أَبِي بَلْجٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَحَبَّ وَقَالَ هَاشِمٌ : مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَجِدَ طَعْمَ الْإِيمَانِ ، فَلْيُحِبَّ الْمَرْءَ لَا يُحِبُّهُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wishes to taste the sweetness of faith should love someone only for the sake of Allah’s pleasure.
Hadith 7968
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، لَأَذُودَنَّ رِجَالًا مِنْكُمْ عَنْ حَوْضِي كَمَا تُذَادُ الْغَرِيبَةُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ عَنِ الْحَوْضِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), I will surely drive away some people from my cistern just as a stranger camel is driven away from the cistern.
Hadith 7969
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ عِفْرِيتًا مِنَ الْجِنِّ تَفَلَّتَ عَلَيَّ الْبَارِحَةَ لِيَقْطَعَ عَلَيَّ الصَّلَاةَ ، فَأَمْكَنَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ فَذعَتُّهُ ، وَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَرْبِطَهُ إِلَى جَنْبِ سَارِيَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، حَتَّى تُصْبِحُوا فَتَنْظُرُوا إِلَيْهِ كُلُّكُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ ، قَالَ : فَذَكَرْتُ دَعْوَةَ أَخِي سُلَيْمَانَ : رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي ، قَالَ : فَرَدَّهُ خَاسِئًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tonight a rebellious jinn tried to overpower me so that he could disrupt my prayer. Allah gave me control over him and I caught him. I intended to tie him to one of the pillars of the mosque so that you all could see him in the morning. But then I remembered the supplication of my brother Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him): 'My Lord, grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me.' The narrator says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then drove him away in disgrace."
Hadith 7970
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو إِنْ طَالَ بِي عُمُرٌ أَنْ أَلْقَى عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، فَإِنْ عَجِلَ بِي مَوْتٌ ، فَمَنْ لَقِيَهُ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُقْرِئْهُ مِنِّي السَّلَامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I hope that if my life is prolonged, I will meet Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him), but the message of my departure will come first. So whoever among you meets him, convey my greetings to him.
Hadith 7971
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو إِنْ طَالَتْ بِي حَيَاةٌ أَنْ أُدْرِكَ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، فَإِنْ عَجِلَ بِي مَوْتٌ ، فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَهُ فَلْيُقْرِئْهُ مِنِّي السَّلَامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I hope that if my life is prolonged, I will meet Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him), but the message of my departure will come first. So whoever among you meets him, convey my greetings to him.
Hadith 7972
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ زَيْدٍ ، وَيُونُسَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ ، يُحَدِّثَانَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَمَّا عَلِيٌّ فَرَفَعَهُ إلى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَمَّا يُونُسُ ، فَلَمْ يَعْدُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ : وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ سورة البروج آية 3 ، قَالَ : يَعْنِي : " الشَّاهِدَ : يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ ، وَالْمَوْعُودَ : يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), either as a mawquf or marfu' narration, that in "washaahid wa mashhood," the "shaahid" refers to the Day of Arafah and the "mashhood" refers to the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 7973
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمَّارًا مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عن أبي هريرة ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ : وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ سورة البروج آية 3 ، قَالَ : " الشَّاهِدُ : يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، وَالْمَشْهُودُ : يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ ، وَالْمَوْعُودُ : يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .

Hadith 7974
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ ظَالِمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاة وَالسَّلَامُ الصَّادِقَ الْمَصْدُوقَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ هَلَاكَ أُمَّتِي أَوْ فَسَادَ أُمَّتِي رُؤُوسٌ أُمَرَاءُ أُغَيْلِمَةٌ سُفَهَاءُ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard Abul Qasim, who was truthful and trusted (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: "The destruction of my Ummah will be at the hands of a few foolish youths from the Quraysh."
Hadith 7975
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْجُشَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنَّ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ، ثَلَاثُونَ آيَةً ، شَفَعَتْ لِرَجُلٍ حَتَّى غُفِرَ لَهُ ، وَهِيَ تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is a surah in the Noble Qur'an consisting of thirty verses which interceded for a man until he was forgiven, and that surah is Al-Mulk.
Hadith 7976
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي نُعْمٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد : قَالَ أَبِي : إِنَّمَا هُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي نُعْمٍ ، وَلَكِنْ غُنْدَرٌ كَذَا قَالَ إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كَسْبِ الْحَجَّامِ ، وَكَسْبِ الْبَغِيِّ ، وَثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ " ، قَالَ : وَعَسْبِ الْفَحْلِ ، قَالَ : وَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : هَذِهِ مِنْ كِيسِي .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the earnings of the cupper, the earnings from prostitution, and the price of a dog. Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) also includes in this the price given for the mating of a bull, and says that this is from my own pouch.
Hadith 7977
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَرَّرِ بْنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، حِيث بَعَثَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ بِ بَرَاءَةٌ . فَقَالَ : مَا كُنْتُمْ تُنَادُونَ ؟ قَالَ : كُنَّا نُنَادِي : أَنَّهُ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ عُرْيَانٌ ، وَمَنْ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهْدٌ ، فَإِنَّ أَجَلَهُ أَوْ أَمَدَهُ إِلَى أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ ، فَإِذَا مَضَتْ الْأَرْبَعَةُ الْأَشْهُرِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بَرِيءٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُهُ ، وَلَا يَحُجُّ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ بَعْدَ الْعَامِ مُشْرِكٌ . قَالَ : فَكُنْتُ أُنَادِي حَتَّى صَحِلَ صَوْتِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) with the message of disassociation to the people of Makkah, I was with him. Someone asked, "What were you announcing?" He replied, "We were proclaiming that only a believer will enter Paradise; from today onwards, no one will perform Tawaf of the Ka'bah naked; whoever has a treaty with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), its duration is set for four months. After four months, Allah and His Messenger will be free from the polytheists, and after this year, no polytheist will be able to perform Hajj of the Ka'bah." While making this announcement, my voice became hoarse.
Hadith 7978
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو إِنْ طَالَتْ بِي حَيَاةٌ أَنْ أُدْرِكَ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ ، فَإِنْ عَجِلَ بِي مَوْتٌ ، فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَهُ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُقْرِئْهُ مِنِّي السَّلَامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I hope that if my life is prolonged, I will meet Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him), but the message of my departure will come first. So whoever among you meets him, convey my greetings to him.
Hadith 7979
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : خَطَبَ رَجُلٌ امْرَأَةً ، يَعْنِي مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " انْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَإِنَّ فِي أَعْيُنِ الْأَنْصَارِ شَيْئًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man sent a marriage proposal to a woman from the Ansar. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the man, "Look at her, for there is something (a defect) in the eyes of the Ansar."
Hadith 7980
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُوشِكُ أَنْ تَضْرِبُوا وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً : أَنْ يَضْرِبَ النَّاسُ أَكْبَادَ الْإِبِلِ ، يَطْلُبُونَ الْعِلْمَ ، لَا يَجِدُونَ عَالِمًا أَعْلَمَ مِنْ عَالِمِ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ " . وَقَالَ قَوْمٌ : هُوَ الْعُمَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : فَقَدَّمُوا مَالِكًا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The time is near when people will set out on journeys from distant places in search of knowledge, and at that time they will not find any scholar greater than the scholar of Madinah." The narrator says that this is exactly what happened, and people came to the service of Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him).
Hadith 7981
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ يَعْنِي سُهَيْلًا ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، يُخْبِرُهُمْ ذَلِكَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَفَى أَحَدَكُمْ خَادِمُهُ صَنْعَةَ طَعَامِهِ ، وَكَفَاهُ حَرَّهُ وَدُخَانَهُ ، فَلْيُجْلِسْهُ مَعَهُ فَلْيَأْكُلْ ، فَإِنْ أَبَى ، فَلْيَأْخُذْ لُقْمَةً فَلْيُرَوِّغْهَا ، ثُمَّ لِيُعْطِهَا إِيَّاهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you has a servant who has taken care of preparing the food and endured its heat and cold, then he should make him sit with him and feed him. If he cannot do so, then he should take a morsel, dip it well in the curry, and give it to him.
Hadith 7982
قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي قُرَّةَ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ مُوسَى بْنِ طَارِقٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ ، وَعَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، أو عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَتُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تَجْتَهِدُوا فِي الدُّعَاءِ ؟ قُولُوا : اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنَّا عَلَى شُكْرِكَ ، وَذِكْرِكَ ، وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you want to strive hard in supplication? Then you should say: O Allah, help us to give thanks to You, to remember You, and to worship You in the best manner.
Hadith 7983
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَرْأَةُ ، وَالْكَلْبُ ، وَالْحِمَارُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A woman, a dog, and a donkey passing in front of someone performing prayer invalidate the prayer.
Hadith 7984
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ إِذَا شَهِدَ الصَّلَاةَ مَعِي كَانَ لَهُ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ شَاةٍ سَمِينَةٍ أَوْ شَاتَيْنِ لَفَعَلَ ، فَمَا يُصِيبُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ أَفْضَلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If any one of you were certain that by joining me in prayer he would receive a large, fat bone or two excellent houses, he would surely participate in the prayer; whereas the reward he actually receives is even greater than that.
Hadith 7985
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : خَطَبَ رَجُلٌ امْرَأَةً يَعْنِي مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَقَالَ : " انْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا ، يَعْنِي أَنَّ فِي أَعْيُنِ الْأَنْصَارِ شَيْئًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man sent a marriage proposal to a woman from the Ansar. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the man, "Look at her, for there is something (a defect) in the eyes of the Ansar."
Hadith 7986
حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِرَجُلٍ قَدْ شَرِبَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اضْرِبُوهُ " ، قَالَ : فَمِنَّا الضَّارِبُ بِيَدِهِ ، وَمِنَّا الضَّارِبُ بِنَعْلِهِ ، وَالضَّارِبُ بِثَوْبِهِ ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ : أَخْزَاكَ اللَّهُ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَقُولُوا هَكَذَا ، لَا تُعِينُوا عَلَيْهِ الشَّيْطَانَ ، وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا : رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man who had drunk alcohol was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Beat him." So some of us beat him with our hands, some with shoes, and some with a piece of cloth. When he went back, someone said to him, "May Allah disgrace you." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not say this. Do not help Satan against him. Rather, say: May Allah have mercy on you."
Hadith 7987
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : قال إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ : عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : نَزَلَ عَلَيْنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، بِالْكُوفَةِ ، قَالَ : وكَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ مَوْلَانَا قَرَابَةٌ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : وَهُوَ مَوْلَى الْأَحْمَسِ فَاجْتَمَعَتْ أَحْمَسُ ، قَالَ قَيْسٌ : فَأَتَيْنَاهُ نُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً : فَأَتَاهُ الْحَيُّ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي : يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، هَؤُلَاءِ أَنْسِبَاؤُكَ أَتَوْكَ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْكَ وَتُحَدِّثُهُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . قَالَ : مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ وَأَهْلًا ، صَحِبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَ سِنِينَ ، لَمْ أَكُنْ أَحْرَصَ عَلَى أَنْ أَعِيَ الْحَدِيثَ مِنِّي فِيهِنَّ ، حَتَّى سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " وَاللَّهِ لَأَنْ يَأْخُذَ أَحَدُكُمْ حَبْلًا فَيَحْتَطِبَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ ، فَيَأْكُلَ وَيَتَصَدَّقَ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ رَجُلًا أَغْنَاهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ ، فَيَسْأَلَهُ ، أَعْطَاهُ أَوْ مَنَعَهُ " . ثُمَّ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا بِيَدِهِ : " قَرِيبٌ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ سَتَأْتُونَ تُقَاتِلُونَ قَوْمًا نِعَالُهُمْ الشَّعَرُ ، كَأَنَّ وُجُوهَهُمْ الْمَجَانُّ الْمُطْرَقَةُ " .
Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) was our guest in Kufa. He had some relations of kinship with our masters. We went to him to greet him, so my father said to him, "O Abu Hurairah, these are your kinsmen who have come to serve you so that they may greet you and you may narrate to them a hadith of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) welcomed us and said, "I remained in the company of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for three years. Among the group of companions, during those three years, there was no one more devoted to memorizing hadith than me. I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'By Allah, if any one of you were to take a rope, gather firewood, carry it on his back, and earn his livelihood from it, eating from it himself and giving charity as well, this is far better than going to a man whom Allah has blessed with wealth and asking him for something—whether he gives or withholds.' Then, gesturing with his hand, he said: 'Near the Day of Judgment, you will fight against a people whose faces will be like flat shields and whose shoes will be made of hair.'"
Hadith 7988
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : يَقُولُ الله : " اسْتَقْرَضْتُ عَبْدِي فَلَمْ يُقْرِضْنِي ، وَيَشْتُمُنِي عَبْدِي وَهُوَ لَا يَدْرِي ، يَقُولُ : وَادَهْرَاهْ ، وَادَهْرَاهْ ، وَأَنَا الدَّهْرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "I asked My servant for a loan, but he did not give it, and My servant unknowingly speaks ill of Me and says, 'Alas, the times! Alas, the times!' whereas I am the Creator of time as well."
Hadith 7989
حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ ، الْمِرَاءُ فِي الْقُرْآنِ كُفْرٌ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، فَمَا عَرَفْتُمْ مِنْهُ فَاعْمَلُوا ، وَمَا جَهِلْتُمْ مِنْهُ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى عَالِمِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Noble Qur'an was revealed upon seven letters. Disputing about the Qur'an is disbelief. He stated this sentence three times. Therefore, act upon what you understand, and what you do not understand, refer it to its scholar (ask him about it).
Hadith 7990
حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، زَحْزَحَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ بِذَلِكَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever fasts for one day for the sake of Allah's pleasure, Allah will keep him seventy years' distance away from Hell.
Hadith 7991
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : مَا صَلَّيْتُ وَرَاءَ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَشْبَهَ صَلَاةً بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ فُلَانٍ ، قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ : " كَانَ يُطِيلُ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ ، وَيُخَفِّفُ الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ ، وَيُخَفِّفُ الْعَصْرَ ، وَيَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِقِصَارِ الْمُفَصَّلِ ، وَيَقْرَأُ فِي الْعِشَاءِ بِوَسَطِ الْمُفَصَّلِ ، وَيَقْرَأُ فِي الصُّبْحِ بِطِوَالِ الْمُفَصَّلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that after the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he did not perform any prayer behind anyone which resembled the prayer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) more, except behind such-and-such person. The narrator says that in the Zuhr prayer, he would make the first two rak'ahs relatively long and the last two rak'ahs shorter. He would perform the Asr prayer lightly. In Maghrib, he would recite a surah from the short Mufassal surahs; in Isha, from the medium Mufassal surahs; and in the Fajr prayer, he would recite from the long Mufassal surahs.
Hadith 7992
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ لِي قَرَابَةً أَصِلُهُمْ وَيَقْطَعُونيَ ، وَأُحْسِنُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَيُسِيئُونَ إِلَيَّ ، وَأَحْلُمُ عَنْهُمْ وَيَجْهَلُونَ عَلَيَّ . قَالَ : " لَئِنْ كُنْتَ كَمَا تَقُولُ ، فَكَأَنَّمَا تُسِفُّهُمْ الْمَلَّ ، وَلَا يَزَالُ مَعَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ ظَهِيرٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ، مَا دُمْتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he presented himself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have some relatives with whom I maintain ties of kinship, but they sever relations with me. I treat them well, but they treat me badly. I am patient with them, but they behave ignorantly towards me." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If the reality is as you have described, then it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and as long as you remain steadfast in your conduct, there will always be a helper from Allah with you."
Hadith 7993
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّهُ أَتَى إِلَى الْمَقْبَرَةِ ، فَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَقْبَرَةِ ، فَقَالَ : " سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ دَارَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ ، وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " وَدِدْتُ أَنَّا قَدْ رَأَيْنَا إِخْوَانَنَا " ، قَالَ : فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَلَسْنَا بِإِخْوَانِكَ ؟ قَالَ : " بَلْ أَنْتُمْ أَصْحَابِي ، وَإِخْوَانِي الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بَعْدُ ، وَأَنَا فَرَطُهُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ تَعْرِفُ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ بَعْدُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ لَهُ خَيْلٌ غُرٌّ مُحَجَّلَةٌ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْ خَيْلٍ بُهْمٍ دُهْمٍ ، أَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَعْرِفُهَا ؟ " ، قَالُوا : بَلَى ، قَالَ : " فَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْتُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ غُرًّا مُحَجَّلِينَ مِنْ أَثَرِ الْوُضُوءِ ، وَأَنَا فَرَطُهُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَلَا لَيُذَادَنَّ رِجَالٌ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ حَوْضِي كَمَا يُذَادُ الْبَعِيرُ الضَّالُّ ، أُنَادِيهِمْ أَلَا هَلُمَّ ، فَيُقَالُ : إِنَّهُمْ بَدَّلُوا بَعْدَكَ ، فَأَقُولُ : سُحْقًا سُحْقًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the graveyard. Upon reaching there, he greeted the inhabitants of the graves and said, "Peace be upon you, O dwellers of the abode of the believers! InshaAllah, we too shall join you." Then he said, "I wish that we could see our brothers." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "O Messenger of Allah, are we not your brothers?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You are my companions; my brothers are those who have not yet come, and I will be waiting for them at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), how will you recognize those of your followers who have not yet come?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Tell me, if a man has a horse with a white, radiant forehead among black horses, will he not recognize his horse?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Why not!" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then those people will also come on the Day of Resurrection with radiant, white foreheads due to the effects of ablution, and I will be waiting for them at the Hawd of Kawthar." Then he said, "Remember, some people among you will be driven away from my Hawd just as a lost camel is chased away. I will call out to them, 'Come here!' But it will be said, 'They changed the religion after you.' So I will say, 'Away with them, away with them!'"
Hadith 7994
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْمُؤْمِنُ ، الْمُؤْمِنُ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا ، يَغَارُ يَغَارُ ، وَاللَّهُ أَشَدُّ غَيْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said two or three times: A believer is possessive (protective of honor), and Allah is even more possessive than him.
Hadith 7995
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَا يَرْفَعُ اللَّهُ بِهِ الدَّرَجَاتِ ، وَيَمْحُو بِهِ الْخَطَايَا ؟ كَثْرَةُ الْخُطَى إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ ، وَانْتِظَارُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ ، وَإِسْبَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ عَلَى الْمَكَارِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you of something by which Allah raises ranks and erases sins? Taking many steps towards the mosques, waiting for one prayer after another, and performing ablution thoroughly even when it is disliked (especially in the cold season).
Hadith 7996
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لَتُؤَدُّنَّ الْحُقُوقَ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، حَتَّى يُقَادَ لِلشَّاةِ الْجَلْحَاءِ مِنَ الْقَرْنَاءِ تَنْطَحُهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the rightful will be given their rights, to the extent that even the hornless goat will be given retribution from the horned goat that butted it.
Hadith 7997
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقُمِّيِّ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ زِيَادُ بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ : " وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي فِي حَيِّزٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ ، مَعِي مَا يُصْلِحُنِي ، لَا أُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُونِي " .
Ziyad bin Hudair says that my wish is that I be in some iron place where I have only the necessities with me, neither do I speak to anyone nor does anyone speak to me.
Hadith 7998
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ النَّذْرِ ، وَقَالَ : " لَا يَرُدُّ مِنَ الْقَدَرِ ، وَإِنَّمَا يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making vows, saying that vows do not change destiny; however, through a vow, wealth is taken out from a miserly person.
