Hadith 7839
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْدَةَ ، أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْقَارِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ : وَرَبِّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ ، مَا أَنَا نَهَيْتُ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ ، وَلَكِنْ مُحَمَّدٌ نَهَى عَنْهُ . وَرَبِّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ ، وَرَبِّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ ، مَا أَنَا قُلْتُ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَهُ الصُّبْحُ جُنُبًا فَلْيُفْطِرْ " ، وَلَكِنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَهُ . قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : إِنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ جَعْدَةَ ، أَخْبَرَهُ ، عن عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَارِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I did not prohibit fasting on Friday, but by the Lord of the Ka'bah, Muhammad (peace be upon him) prohibited it. By the Lord of the Ka'bah, I did not say that whoever enters the morning in a state of major impurity should not fast, but by the Lord of the Ka'bah! This statement was made by Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Hadith 7840
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ صَوْمِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلَا يَرْفُثْ ، وَلَا يَجْهَلْ ، فَإِنْ جَهِلَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ فَلْيَقُلْ : إِنِّي امْرُؤٌ صَائِمٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you is fasting on any day, he should neither speak indecently nor act ignorantly. If someone behaves ignorantly towards him, he should say, "I am fasting."
Hadith 7841
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : " أَنَّ رَجُلًا رَفَعَ غُصْنَ شَوْكٍ مِنْ طَرِيقِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَغُفِرَ لَهُ " . قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مَرْفُوعٌ ، وَلَكِنْ سُفْيَانُ قَصَّرَ فِي رَفْعِهِ .
It is narrated, most likely as a marfu’ hadith, from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man removed a thorny branch from the path of the Muslims, and due to the blessing of this act, he was forgiven.
Hadith 7842
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : رَجُلٌ خَطَبَ امْرَأَةً ، فَقَالَ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " انْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَإِنَّ فِي أَعْيُنِ الْأَنْصَارِ شَيْئًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man sent a marriage proposal to a woman. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the man, "Look at her, for there is something defective in the eyes of the Ansar."
Hadith 7843
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الشِّغَارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade exchange marriages (in which, without specifying a dowry, the exchange of relations itself is considered as the dowry).
Hadith 7844
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَى لِسَانِي مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْ الْمَدِينَةِ " . ثُمَّ جَاءَ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا بَنِي حَارِثَةَ ، مَا أُرَاكُمْ إِلَّا قَدْ خَرَجْتُمْ مِنَ الْحَرَمِ " ، ثُمَّ نَظَرَ ، فَقَالَ : " بَلْ أَنْتُمْ فِيهِ ، بَلْ أَنْتُمْ فِيهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By my tongue, the area between the two boundaries of Madinah Munawwarah has been declared as Haram (sanctuary)." After a short while, some people from Banu Harithah came. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "O Banu Harithah, I think your residence is going outside the Haram." Then, after pondering for a while, he said: "No, you are within the Haram, you are within the Haram."
Hadith 7845
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا قَدِمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ فِي الطَّرِيقِ شِعْرًا : يَا لَيْلَةً مِنْ طُولِهَا وَعَنَائِهَا عَلَى أَنَّهَا مِنْ دَارَةِ الْكُفْرِ نَجَّتِ ، قَالَ : وَأَبَقَ مِنِّي غُلَامٌ لِي فِي الطَّرِيقِ ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَايَعْتُهُ ، فَبَيْنَا أَنَا عِنْدَهُ ، إِذْ طَلَعَ الْغُلَامُ ، فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ " هَذَا غُلَامُكَ " ، قُلْتُ : هُوَ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ ، فَأَعْتَقْتُهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when I set out to present myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I kept reciting this verse along the way: "Even though this night is harsh and long, it is beloved. Because it has delivered me from the abode of disbelief." One of my slaves had run away from me on the way. When I presented myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I pledged allegiance at his blessed hand. While I was still sitting there, my slave arrived. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "Abu Hurairah! Is this your slave?" I replied, "He is free in the way of Allah." Thus, I set him free.
Hadith 7846
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْإِيمَانَ لَيَأْرِزُ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، كَمَا تَأْرِزُ الْحَيَّةُ إِلَى جُحْرِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Near the Day of Judgment, faith will withdraw to Madinah just as a snake withdraws into its hole.
Hadith 7847
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ امْرَأَةً عُذِّبَتْ فِي هِرَّةٍ ، أَمْسَكَتْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَتْ مِنَ الْجُوعِ ، لَمْ تَكُنْ تُطْعِمُهَا ، وَلَمْ تُرْسِلْهَا فَتَأْكُلَ مِنْ حَشَرَاتِ الْأَرْضِ ، وَغُفِرَ لِرَجُلٍ نَحَّى غُصْنَ شَوْكٍ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A woman entered Hell because of a cat which she had tied up. She neither fed it nor gave it water herself, nor did she let it go free so that it could eat the insects of the earth on its own.
Hadith 7848
حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو اللَّيْثِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مِرَاءٌ فِي الْقُرْآنِ كُفْرٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Disputing about the Qur'an is disbelief.
Hadith 7849
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ يَعْنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " رَدَّ مَاعِزَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ ، أَمَرَ بِهِ فَرُجِمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Malik Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Hazrat Ma'iz bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) back three times, then when he came the fourth time, he ordered him to be stoned.
Hadith 7850
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7851
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كَسْبِ الْإِمَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade earnings from the prostitution of slave women.
Hadith 7852
حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّانُ بْنُ تَمَّامٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَجْلِسَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ ، فَإِنْ بَدَا لَهُ أَنْ يَقْعُدَ ، فَلْيُسَلِّمْ إِذَا قَامَ ، فَلَيْسَتْ الْأُولَى بِأَوْجَبَ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you arrives at a gathering, he should greet with salam, and when he wishes to stand up to leave the gathering, he should also greet with salam. And the first occasion does not have more right than the second occasion.
Hadith 7853
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If I had not feared hardship for my ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak at the time of every prayer.
Hadith 7854
وقَالَ ، يَعْنِي عَبْدَةَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7855
حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ النَّجَّارِ أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، عَنْ طَيِّبِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُخَنَّثِي الرِّجَالِ ، الَّذِينَ يَتَشَبَّهُونَ بِالنِّسَاءِ ، وَالْمُتَرَجِّلَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ ، الْمُتَشَبِّهِينَ بِالرِّجَالِ ، وَرَاكِبَ الْفَلَاةِ وَحْدَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men, and the one who travels alone in the wilderness.
Hadith 7856
حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ النَّجَّارِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَاجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى ، فَقَالَ : يَا آدَمُ ، أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَخْرَجْتَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ بِذَنْبِكَ وَأَشْقَيْتَهُمْ ؟ قَالَ : فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ : أَنْتَ الَّذِي اصْطَفَاكَ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِهِ وَكَلَامِهِ ، فَتَلُومُنِي عَلَى أَمْرٍ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ أَوْ قَدَّرَهُ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَنِي ؟ ! " ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once, in the realm of souls, there was a debate between Hazrat Adam and Hazrat Musa (peace be upon them). Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) said, "O Adam! Because of your minor mistake, you caused people to be embarrassed and were expelled from Paradise?" Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) replied, "O Musa, Allah chose you for His prophethood and to speak with Him directly. Do you blame me for something which Allah had decreed for me even before my creation?" In this way, Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) prevailed over Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him).
Hadith 7857
حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ ، أَوْ ابْنِ يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِزْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِلَى عَضَلَةِ سَاقَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ إِلَى نِصْفِ سَاقَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ إِلَى كَعْبَيْهِ ، فَمَا كَانَ أَسْفَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فِي النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The lower garment of a believer should be up to the middle of the shin, or halfway up the shin, or up to the ankles. Then, whatever part is below the ankles will be in Hell.
Hadith 7858
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ ، فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ ، لَا تَجَسَّسُوا ، وَلَا تَحَسَّسُوا ، وَلَا تَنَافَسُوا ، وَلَا تَنَاجَشُوا ، وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا ، وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا ، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Avoid suspicion, for suspicion is the most false of speech. Do not spy on one another, do not seek out each other's faults, do not compete with one another, do not deceive one another, do not sever ties of kinship, do not harbor malice, and O servants of Allah! Be brothers to one another.
Hadith 7859
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَزَالُ الْبَلَاءُ بِالْمُؤْمِنِ أَوْ الْمُؤْمِنَةِ ، فِي جَسَدِهِ ، وَفِي مَالِهِ ، وَفِي وَلَدِهِ ، حَتَّى يَلْقَى اللَّهَ وَمَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَطِيئَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Continuous troubles come upon a Muslim man or woman, whether in their body, wealth, or children, until when they meet Allah, not a single sin remains with them.
Hadith 7860
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : مُرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجِنَازَةٍ ، فَقَالَ : " قُومُوا ، فَإِنَّ لِلْمَوْتِ فَزَعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a funeral passed by the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Stand up, for there is a panic in death.
Hadith 7861
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِأَهْلِهِ ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ ضَيَاعًا فَإِلَيَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever dies leaving behind wealth and property, it belongs to his family, and whoever leaves behind orphaned children, their needs are my responsibility.
Hadith 7862
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ مُضْطَجِعٍ عَلَى بَطْنِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَضِجْعَةٌ مَا يُحِبُّهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man who was lying on his stomach. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This way of lying is such that Allah does not like it."
Hadith 7863
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ ، وَأَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ : " إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَيٌّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ سَنَامُ الْعَمَلِ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَيٌّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Which deed is the most virtuous?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "To have faith in Allah and His Messenger." The questioner asked: "Then which deed is most virtuous?" He said: "Jihad in the way of Allah is the hump of deeds." The questioner asked: "After that?" He said: "A righteous Hajj."
Hadith 7864
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْهِلَالَ ، فقَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَصُومُوا ، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا ، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَعُدُّوا ثَلَاثِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the moon and said: When you see the moon, then begin fasting, and when you see the moon, then celebrate Eid al-Fitr. If it is cloudy, then complete thirty days of fasting.
Hadith 7865
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَصْبِرُ أَحَدٌ عَلَى لَأْوَاءِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَجَهْدِهَا ، إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا وَشَهِيدًا ، أَوْ شَهِيدًا وَشَفِيعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever endures the hardships and difficulties of Madinah with patience, I will testify and intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 7866
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، شَكَّ فِيهِ : " شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا " .
Narrated to us by ‘Affan, narrated to us by Wuhaib, narrated to us by Hisham, he was uncertain about it: “a martyr or an intercessor.”
Hadith 7867
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and you should begin charity and alms with those who are under your responsibility.
Hadith 7868
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مَرْيَمَ ، يَذْكُرُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يُبَالَ فِي الْمَاءِ الرَّاكِدِ ، ثُمَّ يُتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade urinating in stagnant water and then performing ablution with it.
Hadith 7869
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَلَمَّا قَامَ قُمْنَا مَعَهُ ، فَجَاءَهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَقَالَ : أَعْطِنِي يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " لَا ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ " . فَجَذَبَهُ بحُجْزَتِه ، فَخَدَشَهُ ، قَالَ : فَهَمُّوا بِهِ ، قَالَ : " دَعُوهُ " . قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَعْطَاهُ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَتْ يَمِينُهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ : " لَا ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were in the mosque with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, we also stood up. Meanwhile, a Bedouin came and said, "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), give me something." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No, I seek forgiveness from Allah." Hearing this, he grabbed the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from behind and pulled him, causing scratches on his blessed body. The noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) wanted to catch him and punish him, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Leave him." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him something. In fact, these words "No, I seek forgiveness from Allah" were words of oath from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 7870
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ ثَوْبَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ : مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَفِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ ، وَفِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge from four things: from the punishment of Hell, from the punishment of the grave, from the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal), and from the trials of life and death.
Hadith 7871
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ ظَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَ مَرْوَانَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي حِبِّي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الصَّادِقُ الْمَصْدُوقُ ، صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ هَلَاكَ أُمَّتِي عَلَى يَدَيْ غِلْمَةٍ سُفَهَاءَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " .
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) once narrated a hadith to Marwan bin Hakam, saying: My beloved Abu al-Qasim, who was truthful and trustworthy, peace and blessings be upon him, told me this hadith: The destruction of my Ummah will be at the hands of a few foolish youths from the Quraysh.
Hadith 7872
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، سَمِعْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : مَا أَدْرِي كَمْ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَائِمًا فِي السُّوقِ يَقُولُ : " يُقْبَضُ الْعِلْمُ ، وَتَظْهَرُ الْفِتَنُ ، وَيَكْثُرُ الْهَرْجُ " ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَمَا الْهَرْجُ ؟ قَالَ : بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا ، وَحَرَّفَهَا .
Salim says: I do not remember how many times I have heard Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) standing in the market saying: Knowledge will be taken away, tribulations will appear, and killing (harj) will increase. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is meant by harj? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand (killing, killing).
Hadith 7873
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ ، فَمَا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ، فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hospitality is for three days; whatever is beyond that is charity.
Hadith 7874
حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ الرَّجُلِ قَيْحًا يَرِيهِ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is much better for a man's stomach to be filled with pus until he is satisfied than for it to be filled with poetry.
Hadith 7875
حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَبَاغَضُوا ، وَلَا تَنَاجَشُوا ، وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا ، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not harbor enmity against one another, do not deceive or envy one another, and be, O servants of Allah, brothers to one another.
Hadith 7876
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَحَّافِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَحَبَّهُمَا فَقَدْ أَحَبَّنِي ، وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمَا فَقَدْ أَبْغَضَنِي " يَعْنِي حَسَنًا ، وَحُسَيْنًا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them): Whoever loves these two, in fact loves me, and whoever harbors enmity towards them, in fact harbors enmity towards me.
Hadith 7877
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ تَوَضَّأَ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَينِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once, while performing ablution, washed each of his limbs of ablution only twice.
Hadith 7878
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ لَا يُؤْمِنُ ، وَاللَّهِ لَا يُؤْمِنُ ، وَاللَّهِ لَا يُؤْمِنُ " ، قَالُوا : وَمَا ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الْجَارُ لَا يَأْمَنُ جَارُهُ بَوَائِقَهُ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَمَا بَوَائِقُهُ ؟ قَالَ : " شَرُّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times, "By Allah, that person is not a believer." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who?" He replied, "The neighbor whose neighbor is not safe from his harm."
