Hadith 7759
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تُسْتَأْمَرُ الثَّيِّبُ ، وَتُسْتَأْذَنُ الْبِكْرُ " ، قَالُوا : وَمَا إِذْنُهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " تَسْكُتُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Permission should be sought from a virgin girl for marriage, and consultation should be done with a previously married woman. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), (a virgin girl feels shy), so how should her permission be obtained?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Her silence is a sign of her consent.
Hadith 7760
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، كَذَا قَالَ : عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ ، وَذَكَرَ حَدِيثَ الْفَزَارِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : وَلَدَتْ امْرَأَتِي غُلَامًا أَسْوَدَ ، وَهُوَ حِينَئِذٍ يُعَرِّضُ بِأَنْ يَنْفِيَهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَكَ إِبِلٌ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " مَا أَلْوَانُهَا ؟ " ، قَالَ : حُمْرٌ ، قَالَ : " أَفِيهَا أَوْرَقُ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، فِيهَا ذَوْدٌ وُرْقٌ ، قَالَ : " مِمَّ ذَاكَ تَرَى ؟ " ، قَالَ : مَا أَدْرِي ، لَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ نَزَعَهَا عِرْقٌ ، قَالَ : " وَهَذَا لَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ " ، وَلَمْ يُرَخِّصْ لَهُ فِي الِانْتِفَاءِ مِنْهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man from Banu Fazarah came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My wife has given birth to a child of dark complexion." In fact, he wanted to present a request before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) not to establish the lineage of the child himself. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Do you have camels?" He said, "Yes." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What is their color?" He said, "Red." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Is there any camel among them of gray color?" He said, "Yes, there is a gray-colored camel among them." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "How did the gray camel come among the red camels?" He said, "Perhaps some vein has drawn this color." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then understand the same about this child, that perhaps some vein has drawn this color." And the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not permit him to deny the lineage of the child.
Hadith 7761
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ وَنَحْنُ عِنْدَ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ : " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجَمَ يَهُودِيًّا وَيَهُودِيَّةً " .
Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a man from the tribe of Muzaina told us this hadith while we were sitting with Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him), that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carried out the punishment of stoning on a Jewish man and woman.
Hadith 7762
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاقْتُلُوهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drinks alcohol, flog him. If he drinks again, then flog him again. If he drinks a third time, then flog him again. And if he drinks a fourth time, then kill him.
Hadith 7763
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، وأََبي سَلَمة ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ ، وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abu Salama (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The child belongs to the (owner of the) bed, and for the adulterer there are stones."
Hadith 7764
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، وَمَالِكٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ : أَنْصِتْ ، فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ " . قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : وَأَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: When the Imam is delivering the Friday sermon and you say to your companion, "Be quiet," then you have engaged in idle talk. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7765
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ رَكْعَةً ، فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever catches one rak'ah of any prayer, it is as if he has caught the whole prayer.
Hadith 7766
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْأَغَرُّ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ صَاحِبُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ ، جَلَسَتْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، يَكْتُبُونَ كُلَّ مَنْ جَاءَ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَإِذَا خَرَجَ الْإِمَامُ ، طَوَتْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ الصُّحُفَ ، وَدَخَلَتْ تَسْمَعُ الذِّكْر " . قَالَ : وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمُهَجِّرُ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ كَالْمُهْدِي بَدَنَةً ، ثُمَّ كَالْمُهْدِي بَقَرَةً ، ثُمَّ كَالْمُهْدِي شَاةً ، ثُمَّ كَالْمُهْدِي دَجَاجَةً ، ثُمَّ كَالْمُهْدِي حَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ : بَيْضَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the day of Friday comes, the angels sit at the doors of the mosque and record those who come for Friday (prayer). When the Imam comes out, they fold up their scrolls and enter the mosque to listen to the remembrance. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: The one who comes first for Friday is like the one who offered a camel, then the one who offered a cow, then the one who offered a goat, then the one who offered a chicken, then the one who offered an egg.
Hadith 7767
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَغَرُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ ، كَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ بَابٍ " ، فَذَكَرَهُ ، وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ فِي الْبَيْضَةِ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7768
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَغَرِّ ، نَحْوَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7769
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ سَاعَةً وَأَشَارَ بِكَفِّهِ كَأَنَّهُ يُقَلِّلُهَا لَا يُوَافِقُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا ، إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying this from the pulpit: On the day of Friday, there comes a moment such that if a Muslim servant happens to encounter it while standing and offering prayer and asking Allah for goodness, then Allah surely grants him that thing. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) indicated with his hand to show the brevity of that moment.
Hadith 7770
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ غَسَّلَ مَيِّتًا ، فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever gives a bath to a deceased person should also perform ghusl (ritual bath).
Hadith 7771
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ غَسَّلَ مَيِّتًا ، فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ " .

Hadith 7772
رقم الحديث : 7580 حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ : " أَسْرِعُوا بِجَنَائِزِكُمْ ، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ صَالِحَةً ، عَجَّلْتُمُوهَا إِلَى الْخَيْرِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ طَالِحَةً ، اسْتَرَحْتُمْ مِنْهَا ، وَوَضَعْتُمُوهَا عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) both as a mawquf and marfu’ narration that: Hasten in carrying the funeral procession, for if the deceased was righteous, you are taking him towards goodness, and if the deceased was sinful, then it is an evil which you are removing from your shoulders and thus attaining relief.
Hadith 7773
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7774
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ : قَالَ أَبِي : وَخَالَفَهُمَا يُونُسُ ، فَقَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ بْنُ سَهْلٍ . حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7775
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ ، وَمَنْ انْتَظَرَهَا حَتَّى تُوضَعَ فِي اللَّحْدِ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ ، وَالْقِيرَاطَانِ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever offers the funeral prayer for someone will receive a reward equal to one qirat, and whoever waits until the burial is completed will receive a reward equal to two qirats, and the two qirats are like two great mountains.
Hadith 7776
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، وأَبي سَلَمة بن عبد الرحمن ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَعَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّجَاشِيَّ لِأَصْحَابِهِ وَهُوَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، فَصَفُّوا خَلْفَهُ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ، وَكَبَّرَ أَرْبَعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of the death of Najashi, although he himself was in Madinah Munawwarah. Accordingly, the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) formed rows behind the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led his funeral prayer and said four takbirs in it.
Hadith 7777
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، كَانَ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : " وَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا ، يَعْنِي إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ " .
Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform the prostration of recitation in Surah Inshiqaq and used to say that he saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performing the prostration in this Surah.
Hadith 7778
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، وأبي سَلَمة ، أو عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ الْهِلَالَ فَصُومُوا ، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا ، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ ، فَصُومُوا ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see the moon, then start fasting, and when you see the moon (again), then celebrate Eid al-Fitr. If it is cloudy, then complete thirty days of fasting.
Hadith 7779
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُتَعَجَّلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ بِصَوْمِ يَوْمٍ أَوْ يَوْمَيْنِ ، إِلَّا رَجُلٌ كَانَ يَصُومُ صِيَامًا فَيَأْتِي ذَلِكَ عَلَى صِيَامِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting one or two days before Ramadan. However, the person who has a habit of fasting regularly is permitted to fast on those days.
Hadith 7780
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ، فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الرَّحْمَةِ ، وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ جَهَنَّمَ ، وَسُلْسِلَتْ الشَّيَاطِينُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the month of Ramadan begins, the doors of mercy are opened, the doors of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.
Hadith 7781
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يقولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ رَمَضَانُ ، فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الرَّحْمَةِ ، وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ جَهَنَّمَ ، وَسُلْسِلَتْ الشَّيَاطِينُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of mercy are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.
Hadith 7782
وحَدَّثَنَاه يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : ذُُكِرَ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ : عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7783
حَدَّثَنَاه عَتَّابٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي أَنَسٍ ، فَذَكَرَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 7784
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، وَعَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ، حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to always observe i'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan (and this continued) until Allah Almighty called him to Himself.
Hadith 7785
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : هَلَكْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " وَمَا ذَاكَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : وَاقَعْتُ أَهْلِي فِي رَمَضَانَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَتَجِدُ رَقَبَةً ؟ " ، قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : " أَتَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تَصُومَ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ ؟ " قَالَ : لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " أَفَلَا تُطْعِمُ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا ؟ " ، قَالَ : لَا أَجِدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرْقٍ وَالْعَرْقُ : الْمِكْتَلُ فِيهِ تَمْرٌ ، فقَالَ : " اذْهَبْ فَتَصَدَّقْ بِهَا " ، فَقَالَ : عَلَى أَفْقَرَ مِنِّي ؟ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ ، مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ أَحْوَجُ إِلَيْهِ مِنَّا ، فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " اذْهَبْ بِهِ إِلَى أَهْلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I am ruined." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "What has ruined you?" He said, "I had intercourse with my wife during the day in the month of Ramadan." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Free a slave." He said, "I do not have a slave." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Fast for two consecutive months." He said, "I do not have the strength for that." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Feed sixty needy people." He said, "I do not have enough for that." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Sit down." In the meantime, a large basket full of dates was brought to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from somewhere. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Take this and feed sixty needy people on your behalf." He said, "O Messenger of Allah! From this corner of Madinah to that corner, there is no household more needy than ours." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said, "Go, you and your family eat it."
Hadith 7786
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، وعبدُ الأعلى ، عن مَعْمَر ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تُوَاصِلُوا " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ ! قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي " ، قَالَ : فَلَمْ يَنْتَهُوا عَنِ الْوِصَالِ ، فَوَاصَلَ بِهِمْ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَيْنِ وَلَيْلَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ رَأَوْا الْهِلَالَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ تَأَخَّرَ الْهِلَالُ لَزِدْتُكُمْ " ، كَالْمُنَكِّلِ بِهِمْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not observe continuous fasting with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor) for several days. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! You observe continuous fasting in this manner?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "I am not like you in this matter. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds and gives me drink." But the people did not refrain from this, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) observed continuous fasting with them for two days and two nights. Then the people saw the moon, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), expressing his displeasure with the people, said: "If the moon had not appeared, I would have continued the fasting even more."
Hadith 7787
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُرَغِّبُ فِي قِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ ، مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَأْمُرَهُمْ بِعَزِيمَةٍ ، فَيَقُولُ : " مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to encourage standing (in prayer) during Ramadan, but did not give a strict command. He used to say: Whoever stands (in prayer) during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven.
Hadith 7788
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : " كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ ، إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ ، الصِّيَامُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has said, "Every deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting; it is especially for Me, and I Myself will reward for it. The breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk."
Hadith 7789
قَالَ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، وَأَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ : " لَقِيتُ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " فَنَعَتَهُ ، قَالَ : " رَجُلٌ ، قَالَ : حَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ : مُضْطَرِبٌ ، رَجِلُ الرَّأْسِ ، كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ " ، قَالَ : " وَلَقِيتُ عِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " ، فَنَعَتَهُ النبي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " رَبْعَةٌ أَحْمَرُ ، كَأَنَّهُ أُخْرِجَ مِنْ دِيمَاسٍ " يَعْنِي حَمَّامًا ، قَالَ : " وَرَأَيْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، وَأَنَا أَشْبَهُ وَلَدِهِ بِهِ " قَالَ : " فَأُتِيتُ بِإِنَاءَيْنِ ، أَحَدُهُمَا فِيهِ لَبَنٌ ، وَفِي الْآخَرِ خَمْرٌ ، فَقَالَ لِي : خُذْ أَيَّهُمَا شِئْتَ ، فَأَخَذْتُ اللَّبَنَ فَشَرِبْتُهُ ، فَقِيلَ لِي : هُدِيتَ الْفِطْرَةَ ، أو أَصَبْتَ الْفِطْرَةَ أَمَا إِنَّكَ لَوْ أَخَذْتَ الْخَمْرَ ، غَوَتْ أُمَّتُكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the night of Mi'raj, I met Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him). Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), describing his appearance, probably said: He appeared to be a man with disheveled hair, his head hair was curly, and he seemed to be a man from the tribe of Shanu’ah. In the same way, I also met Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him), and describing his appearance, he said: He was a man of medium height, of reddish-white complexion, and it seemed as if he had just come out of the bath. Similarly, I also saw Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Among all his children, I resemble him the most. After that, two vessels were brought to me; one of them contained milk and the other contained wine. I was told to choose whichever I wished. I picked up the milk and drank it. I was told: You have been guided to the right nature. If you had picked up the wine, your Ummah would have gone astray.
Hadith 7790
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ هِشَامَ بْنَ حَسَّانَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ شَيْءٍ لَمْ أَدْرِ مَا هُوَ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، سَأَلَ عَنْهَا اثْنَانِ ، وَهَذَا الثَّالِثُ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ رِجَالًا سَتَرْتَفِعُ بِهِمْ الْمَسْأَلَةُ ، حَتَّى يَقُولُوا : اللَّهُ خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ ، فَمَنْ خَلَقَهُ ؟ ! " .
Muhammad bin Sirin, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I was sitting with Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, when a man asked him something, but I do not know what he asked. Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, after hearing his question, said: "Allahu Akbar! Two people have already asked me about this before, now this is the third person. I heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Some people will become accustomed to asking questions so much that they will even begin to ask: If Allah created all of creation, then who created Allah?'"
Hadith 7791
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " وَيْلٌ لِلْعَقِبِ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Woe to the heels from the fire of Hell."
Hadith 7792
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : يَنْزِلُ رَبُّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ إِذَا مَضَى ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْأَوَّلِ ، فَيَقُولُ : " أَنَا الْمَلِكُ ، مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَسْأَلُنِي فَأُعْطِيَهُ ؟ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَدْعُونِي فَأَسْتَجِيبَ لَهُ ؟ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَسْتَغْفِرُنِي فَأَغْفِرَ لَهُ ؟ " فَلَا يَزَالُ كَذَلِكَ إِلَى الْفَجْرِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When one third of the night passes, Allah Almighty descends to the lowest heaven and announces: I am the True King. Who is there who asks of Me so that I may grant him? Who is there who supplicates to Me so that I may accept his supplication? Who is there who seeks forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him? This announcement continues until the break of dawn.
Hadith 7793
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً ، وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I seek repentance and forgiveness from Allah more than seventy times a day.
Hadith 7794
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَتَى مِنْكُمْ الصَّلَاةَ فَلْيَأْتِهَا بِوَقَارٍ وَسَكِينَةٍ ، فَلْيُصَلِّ مَا أَدْرَكَ ، وَلْيَقْضِ مَا سَبَقَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever among you comes for prayer should come with calmness and tranquility. Whatever part of the prayer he catches, he should perform, and whatever he misses, he should complete.
Hadith 7795
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ وُلِدَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ ، فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ ، وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ ، مِثْلَ الْأَنْعَامِ ، تُنْتَجُ صِحَاحًا ، فَتُكْوَى آذَانُهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every child is born upon pure nature; later, his parents make him a Jew, Christian, or Magian. Its example is like an animal giving birth to a sound and healthy offspring, then you pierce its ears.
Hadith 7796
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي رَبَاحٌ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَتَكُونُ فِتَنٌ ، الْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَائِمِ ، وَالْقَائِمُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْمَاشِي ، وَالْمَاشِي خَيْرٌ مِنَ السَّاعِي ، وَمَنْ وَجَدَ مَلْجَأً أَوْ مَعَاذًا ، فَلْيَعُذْ بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon there will be a time of tribulations; in that era, the one who is sitting will be better than the one who is standing, the one who is standing will be better than the one who is walking, and the one who is walking will be better than the one who is running. And whoever finds a refuge or shelter should take refuge in it.
Hadith 7797
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " تَكُونُ فِتْنَةٌ لَمْ يرَفَعَهُ ، قَالَ : مَنْ وَجَدَ مَلْجَأً أَوْ مَعَاذًا ، فَلْيَعُذْ بِهِ " .

Hadith 7798
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا " . يُرْوَى ذَلِكَ عَنْ يُرْوَى ذَلِكَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever catches one rak'ah of the Asr prayer before sunset has caught that prayer, and whoever catches one rak'ah of the Fajr prayer before sunrise has caught that prayer.
