حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ثنا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْقَزَّازُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُؤَمَّلِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتَ صَفْوَانَ، سَأَلْتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ تَضْرِبُ بِيَدِهَا فَتُصِيبُ فَرْجَهَا فَقَالَ: «تَوَضَّئِي يَا بُسْرَةُ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about a woman who strikes with her hand and it touches her private part. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Busrah, perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: تَذَاكَرَ هُوَ وَمَرْوَانُ الْوُضُوءَ مِنْ مَسِّ الْفَرْجِ، فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ: حَدَّثَتْنِي بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «يَأْمُرُ بِالْوُضُوءِ مِنْ مَسِّ الْفَرْجِ» فَكَأَنَّ عُرْوَةَ لَمْ يَرْفَعْ لِحَدِيثِهِ فَأَرْسَلَ مَرْوَانُ إِلَيْهَا شُرْطِيًّا فَرَجَعَ، فَأَخْبَرَهُمْ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْوُضُوءِ مِنْ مَسِّ الْفَرْجِ
Urwah bin al-Zubayr related that he and Marwan discussed the issue of ablution after touching the private part. Marwan said: Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) told me that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) command ablution after touching the private part. It was as if Urwah did not give his words any weight, so Marwan sent a guard to her. He came back and informed them that she had heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) command ablution after touching the private part.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ نَمِرٍ الْيَحْصِبِيُّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مَرْوَانَ، يَقُولُ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
Al-Zuhri narrated from Urwah that he heard Marwan say: Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) told me; she said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever touches his private part, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَابْلُتِّيُّ، ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «يَتَوَضَّأُ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A man should perform ablution after touching the penis."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever touches his penis, let him perform ablution."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever touches his private part, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: الْوُضُوءُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُرْوَةَ، فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ: أَخْبَرَتْنِيهِ بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى بُسْرَةَ فَقَالَتْ: «ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يُتَوَضَّأْ مِنْهُ؟ فَذَكَرَ مَسَّ الذَّكَرِ»
Urwah bin al-Zubayr narrated from Marwan bin al-Hakam that he said: Ablution is required after touching the penis. Urwah rejected that. Marwan said: Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) told me this. So he sent someone to Busrah, and she said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the things that require ablution, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned touching the penis."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، أَوْ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا مَسَّ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her), or from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you touches his penis, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ مُسَافِرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، يَقُولُ: ذَكَرَ مَرْوَانُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ فِي إِمَارَتِهِ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ أَنَّهُ يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ إِذَا أَفْضَى إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ بِيَدِهِ، فَأَنْكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ، وَقُلْتُ: لَا وُضُوءَ مِنْ مَسِّهِ، فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَذْكُرُ مَا يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ» قَالَ عُرْوَةُ: «فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أُرَاجِعُ مَرْوَانَ فِي ذَلِكَ حَتَّى دَعَا رَجُلًا مِنْ حَرَسِهِ فَأَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ فَسَأَلَهَا عَمَّا حَدَّثَتْهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَرْسَلَتْ بُسْرَةُ بِمِثْلِ الَّذِي حَدَّثَنِي عَنْهَا مَرْوَانُ»
Urwah bin al-Zubayr said: Marwan bin al-Hakam, during his governorship of Madinah, mentioned that ablution is to be performed after touching the penis when a man reaches it with his hand. I rejected that and said: There is no ablution for touching it. Marwan said: Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) told me that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioning the things that require ablution, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ablution is to be performed after touching the penis." Urwah said: I kept going back to Marwan about this until he called a man from his guards and sent him to Busrah bint Safwan, and he asked her about what she had narrated concerning it. Busrah sent back the same as what Marwan had told me from her.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جَابِرِ بْنِ الْبُحْتُرِيُّ الطَّائِيُّ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، يَقُولُ: ذَكَرَ مَرْوَانُ أَنَّهُ يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ إِذَا أَفْضَى إِلَيْهِ الرَّجُلُ بِيَدِهِ، فَأَنْكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ: لَا وُضُوءَ عَلَى مَنْ مَسَّهُ، فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَذْكُرُ مَا يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَيُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ» قَالَ عُرْوَةُ: «فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أُمَارِي مَرْوَانَ حَتَّى دَعَا رَجُلًا مِنْ حَرَسِهِ، فَأَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى بُسْرَةَ يَسْأَلُهَا عَمَّا حَدَّثَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهِ بُسْرَةُ بِمِثْلِ الَّذِي حَدَّثَنِي عَنْهُ»
Urwah bin al-Zubayr said: Marwan mentioned that ablution is to be performed after touching the penis when a man reaches it with his hand. I rejected that and said: There is no ablution upon one who touches it. Marwan said: Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) told me that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioning the things that require ablution, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And ablution is to be performed after touching the penis." Urwah said: I kept arguing with Marwan about this until he called a man from his guards and sent him to Busrah to ask her about what she had narrated concerning it. Busrah sent him the same as what Marwan had told me from her.
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his penis, let him perform ablution."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his penis, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، أَنَا مَالِكٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، يَقُولُ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ فَذَكَرَ مَا يَكُونُ مِنْهُ الْوُضُوءُ فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
Urwah bin al-Zubayr said: I went to Marwan bin al-Hakam, and he mentioned the things that make ablution necessary. Marwan said: Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) told me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his penis, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his penis, let him perform ablution."

Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man should perform ablution after touching the penis."

Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The things that require ablution were mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And whoever touches the penis, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، يُحَدِّثُ أَبِي، قَالَ: ذَاكَرَنِي مَرْوَانُ، مَسَّ الذَّكَرِ، فَقُلْتُ لَيْسَ مِنْهُ وُضُوءٌ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتَ صَفْوَانَ، تُحَدِّثُ فِيهِ فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولًا فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
Urwah bin al-Zubayr said: Marwan discussed with me the touching of the penis, and I said: It does not require ablution. Marwan said: Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates a hadith about it. So he sent a messenger to her, and he reported that she had told him that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private part, let him perform ablution."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private organ, let him perform ablution."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private organ, let him perform ablution."

The narrator said: I heard Urwah say: Marwan sent a messenger to Busrah (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her about this hadith, and she reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you touches his private organ, let him perform ablution."

Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever touches his private parts, let him not pray until he performs ablution."

Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you touches his private parts, let him perform ablution." Urwah said: I objected to this, so Marwan sent a messenger to her, and she narrated this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while I was present.
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ: كَانَ عِنْدَ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ فَسُئِلَ عَنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ، فَلَمْ يَرَ بِهِ بَأْسًا، فَبَعَثَ مَرْوَانُ بَعْضَ حَرَسِهِ إِلَى بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا مَسَّ الرَّجُلُ فَرْجَهُ بِيَدِهِ فَلَا يُصَلِّي حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ» ، فَرَجَعَ فَقَالَ: قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ فَكَانَ أَبِي بَعْدُ يَقُولُ: مَنْ مَسَّ رُفْغَهُ أَوْ أُنْثَيَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ
Urwah narrated that he was with Marwan bin al-Hakam when he was asked about touching the private organ, and he saw no harm in it. So Marwan sent one of his guards to Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her), and (Marwan) said: She told me that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man touches his private parts with his hand, let him not pray until he performs ablution." He (the guard) returned and said: She said: Yes. Hisham said: After that my father (Urwah) used to say: Whoever touches his groin or his testicles, let him perform ablution.

Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you touches his private organ, let him perform ablution."

Marwan said: Whoever touches his private parts, let him perform ablution. Urwah objected to this, so Marwan said: O guard, go to Busrah bint Safwan and ask her, for she had stated that she heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever touches his private organ, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا مَسَّ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَكَرَهُ أَوْ أُنْثَيَيْهِ أَوْ رُفْغَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you touches his private organ, or his testicles, or his groin, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الطُّوسِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الْبُرْسَانِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ أَوْ أُنْثَيَيْهِ أَوْ رُفْغَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»
Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever touches his private organ, or his testicles, or his groin, let him perform the complete ablution for prayer."
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، فَسُئِلْتُ عَنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ، فَلَمْ أَرَ عَلَيْهِ إِعَادَةَ الْوُضُوءِ، فَدَعَا مَرْوَانُ بَعْضَ شُرْطَتِهِ فَأَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، فَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا مَسَّ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيُعِدِ الْوُضُوءَ»
Urwah said: I was with Marwan bin al-Hakam when I was asked about touching the private organ, and I did not consider it necessary to repeat the ablution for it. So Marwan called one of his guards and sent him to Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her). He asked her about that, and she told him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you touches his private organ, let him repeat the ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْعُتْبِيُّ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى، كَاتَبٍ الْعُمَرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ أَوْ أُنْثَيَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private organ or his testicles, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»
Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private organ, let him perform ablution for prayer."
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا وُهَيْبٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ وَجَبَ عَلَيْهِ الْوُضُوءُ»
Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private parts, ablution has become obligatory upon him."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الصَّوَّافُ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ رُفْغَهُ أَوْ أُنْثَيَيْهِ أَوْ ذَكَرَهُ فَلَا يُصَلِّي حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ»
Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his groin, or his testicles, or his private organ, let him not pray until he performs ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الدَّشْتَكِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ الْأَسَدِيَّةِ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ» ، قَالَ عُرْوَةُ: فَسَأَلْتُ بُسْرَةَ فَصَدَّقَتْهُ
Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan al-Asadiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private organ, let him perform ablution." Urwah said: I asked Busrah myself, and she confirmed it.
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا مَسَّ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you touches his private organ, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، قَالَ: قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: لَمْ يَسْمَعْ هِشَامٌ حَدِيثَ أَبِيهِ فِي مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ، قَالَ يَحْيَى: فَسَأَلْتُ هِشَامًا فَقَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي
Abdullah bin Ahmad narrated that his father (Imam Ahmad) said: Shu'bah said: Hisham did not hear his father's hadith about touching the private organ. Yahya said: So I asked Hisham, and he said: My father himself told me.

Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When one of you touches his private organ, let him perform ablution."
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْياطِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ، ثنا الْهِقْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ بُسْرَةَ بِنْتِ صَفْوَانَ الْكِنانِيَّةِ، وَكَانَتْ خَالَةُ مَرْوَانَ، قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ عَلَى إِحْدَانَا الْوُضُوءُ إِذَا مَسَّتْ فَرْجَهَا؟، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ مَسَّ فَرْجَهُ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ، وَالنِّسَاءِ فَعَلَيْهِ الْوُضُوءُ»
Sayyidah Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the maternal aunt of Marwan, said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah, is ablution required of one of us women when she touches her private parts? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever touches his private parts, among men and women, ablution is required of him."
