حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السِّيُوطِيُّ، ثنا عَفَّانُ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى عَلَيْهِ مَسْحَةً مِنْ خَلُوقٍ، فَقَالَ: «اغْسِلْ هَذَا عَنْكَ»

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a trace of khaluq (perfume) on him and said: "Wash this off yourself."

Hadith 18888

حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا ورْقَاءُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حَفْصِ بْنِ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ، أَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ مُرَّةَ، قَالَ: رَآنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا مُتَخَلِّقٌ، فَقَالَ: «يَا يَعْلَى، هَلْ لَكَ امْرَأَةٌ؟» قُلْتُ: لَا، قَالَ: «فَاذْهَبْ فَاغْسِلْهُ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ عَنْكَ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ عَنْكَ، ثُمَّ لَا تَعُدْ» قَالَ: فَذَهَبْتُ فَغَسَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ غَسَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ غَسَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ لَمْ أَعُدْ حَتَّى السَّاعَةِ

Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me while I was wearing perfume and said: "O Ya'la, do you have a wife?" I said: "No." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and wash it off, then wash it off, then wash it off, and do not do it again." He said: I went and washed it, then washed it, then washed it, and I have not done it again to this day.

Hadith 18889

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ: أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِهِ صُفْرَةٌ مِنْ زَعْفَرَانٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اغْسِلْ هَذَا عَنْكَ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ، ثُمَّ لَا تَعُدْ» قَالَ: فَغَسَلَهُ وَلَمْ يَعُدْ

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a yellow trace of saffron on him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Wash this off yourself, then wash it off, and do not do it again." He said: He washed it off and did not do it again.

حَدَّثَنَا طَالِبُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ الْأَدْنِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الطَّبَّاعُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ

Hadith 18893

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ يَعْلَى: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَانْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى أُخْتٍ لِي فَلَطَّخْتُ وَجْهِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَلُوقِ فَلَمَّا مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَسَحَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَتَرَكَنِي فَقِيلَ: إِنَّمَا تَرَكَكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْخَلُوقِ الَّذِي بِوَجْهِكَ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى بِئْرٍ مِنْ آبَارِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَوَقَعْتُ فِيهَا، فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ الْأُخْرَى أَتَيْتُهُ فَمَسَحَ وَجْهِي، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «عَادَ بِخَيْرِ دِينِهِ الْغُلَامُ»

Ibn Ya'la bin Murrah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his grandfather Sayyiduna Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in prayer, and I went to a sister of mine and smeared my face with some khaluq (perfume). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by, he (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped his hand over the faces (of the children) and left me out. Someone said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left you out only because of the khaluq (perfume) on your face." So I went to one of the wells of Madinah and dropped into it. Then, when the time of the next prayer came, I came to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped his hand over my face, then said: "The boy has returned to the good of his religion."
