حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ، ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ، قَالَ: مَرَرْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا مُتَخَلِّقٌ بِزَعْفَرَانَ، فَقَالَ: «يَا يَعْلَى، هَلْ لَكَ امْرَأَةٌ؟» فَقُلْتُ: لَا، قَالَ: «اذْهَبْ فَأَغْسِلْهُ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ، ثُمَّ لَا تَعُدْ» قَالَ: فَذَهَبْتُ فَغَسَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ غَسَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ غَسَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ لَمْ أَعُدْ
Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Murrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I passed by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while I was wearing saffron perfume, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ya'la, do you have a wife?" I said: "No." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and wash it off, then wash it off, then wash it off, and do not do it again." He said: I went and washed it, then washed it, then washed it, and I did not do it again.
