The daughter of Sayyiduna Muhayyisah bin Mas'ud al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from her father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whichever man of the Jews you get hold of, kill him." So Muhayyisah attacked Ibn Sunaynah - a man from among the Jewish merchants who used to mix with them and trade with them - and killed him. At that time Huwayyisah had not yet accepted Islam, and he was older than Muhayyisah. When Muhayyisah killed him, Huwayyisah began beating him and saying: O enemy of Allah! You killed him? Listen, by Allah! Much of the fat in your belly has grown from his wealth. I said: "By Allah! If I had been ordered to kill you too, I would have struck your neck as well." The narrator said: By Allah! This was the very event that became the first cause of Huwayyisah's acceptance of Islam. He said: By Allah! If Muhammad ordered you to kill me, would you kill me too? Muhayyisah said: "Yes, by Allah!" Huwayyisah said: By Allah! A religion that has reached this point is truly astonishing. So Huwayyisah became a Muslim.
