Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his people: "Gather together, and I will lead you in the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." When he had gathered them all, he asked: Is there anyone among you from outside your people? They said: No, except a son of one of our sisters. He said: The sister's son of a people is one of them. "Then he called for a large bowl filled with water, washed his hands, rinsed his mouth and put water into his nose, washed his face three times, washed his forearms three times, wiped his head, and washed his feet. Then he led them in the Zuhr prayer, saying twenty-two takbirs in it. He would say the takbir when going into prostration and when raising his head from prostration. He recited Surah al-Fatihah in the first two rak'ahs, and let the person standing nearest to him hear it."

And some people will camp beside a mountain, with their livestock coming back to them in the evening. A man in need will come to them, and they will say to him: 'Come back to us tomorrow.' And he said: "Whoever sets out in the path of Allah and then dies or is killed, or is thrown by his horse or camel, or is stung by a venomous creature, or dies on his bed by whatever death Allah wills, he is a martyr."
