Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3400 — he said to his people: Gather together

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said to his people: "Gather together, and I will lead you in the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." They gathered, and he asked: Is there any outsider among you? They said: No, except a son of one of our sisters. He said: He too is counted as one of the people. "Then he called for a large bowl filled with water and performed ablution (wudu) in their presence. He rinsed his mouth and put water into his nose three times, washed his face three times and his forearms three times, and wiped his head and the tops of his feet. Then he led them in the Zuhr prayer, saying twenty-two takbirs in it. He would say the takbir when going into prostration and when raising his head. He made them hear the recitation in the first two rak'ahs, and let the person standing nearest to him hear it."
