It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I saw that when morning came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would say these words: 'Asbahna wa asbaha al-mulku lillah, wa al-kibriya', wa al-'azamah, wa al-khalq, wa al-laylu wa al-nahar, wa ma sakana fihima lillahi wahdahu la sharika lah, Allahumma ij'al awwala hadha al-nahari salahan, wa awsatahu falahan, wa akhirahu najahan, wa as'aluka khayra al-dunya wa al-akhirah' (We have reached the morning and morning has come in the dominion of Allah; all sovereignty, grandeur, majesty, all creation, the night and the day, and whatever dwells in them belong to Allah alone, who has no partner. O Allah, make the beginning of this day a means of goodness and rectitude, its middle a means of success and well-being, and its end a means of achievement and triumph; and I ask You for the good of this world and the Hereafter).
The chain of this hadith contains Fa'id bin Abd al-Rahman (Abu al-Warqa'), who according to the imams of hadith is a weak and matruk (abandoned) narrator; therefore this narration is weak in its chain.

It is narrated from Imam al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: We were sitting in the gathering of one of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with him) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when a man came and informed him: "Look to your house; it has caught fire and burned." The Companion said: "My house has not burned." The man came again and said: "Take care of your house, for it has burned!" He said again: "By Allah, my house has not burned." At this the people asked in astonishment: "You are being informed that your house has burned, and you swear an oath denying it?" He said: "In fact, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: 'Whoever says these words in the morning: "Inna rabbiya Allahu la ilaha illa huwa, 'alayhi tawakkaltu, wa huwa rabbu al-'arshi al-'azim, ma sha'a Allahu kan, wa ma lam yasha' lam yakun, la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi al-'aliyyi al-'azim, ashhadu anna Allaha 'ala kulli shay'in qadir, wa anna Allaha qad ahata bi-kulli shay'in 'ilma, a'udhu billahi alladhi yumsiku al-sama'a an taqa'a 'ala al-ardi illa bi-idhnih, min sharri kulli dabbatin rabbi akhidhun bi-nasiyatiha, inna rabbi 'ala siratin mustaqim" (Indeed my Lord is Allah; there is no god worthy of worship except Him; in Him I have put my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne. What Allah willed happened, and what He did not will cannot happen. The resolve to avoid sins and the strength to do good come only through the enabling of Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. I bear witness that Allah has power over all things and that Allah has encompassed everything in His knowledge. I seek refuge in Allah, who holds back the sky from falling upon the earth except by His own permission, from the evil of every creature whose forelock my Lord holds; indeed my Lord is on a straight path), he will not see on that day anything disliked in his own self, his family or his wealth.' And I had recited these words today."
I (Ibn Hajar) say: Imam al-Tabarani narrated it in the book 'al-Du'a' through another chain, and there the name of this Companion is explicitly mentioned as Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him); but it is not correct to take the unidentified (mubham) narrator here to mean Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him), because the sitting (meeting) of Imam al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) with Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) is not established.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him a du'a and ordered him to keep reminding his family of it every day. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you reach the morning, say: 'Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, labbayka wa sa'dayk, wa al-khayru fi yadayk, wa minka wa laka wa ilayk, ma qultu min qawl, aw 'amiltu min 'amal, aw nadhartu min nadhr, aw halaftu min half, fa-mashi'atuka bayna yaday dhalika kullih, ma shi'ta kan, wa ma lam tasha' lam yakun, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa bik, innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadir, Allahumma ma sallaytu min salatin fa-'ala man sallayt, wa ma la'antu min la'nin fa-'ala man la'ant, anta waliyyi fi al-dunya wa al-akhirah, tawaffani musliman wa alhiqni bi al-salihin' (Here I am, O Allah, here I am at Your service; here I am, ready again and again to obey You; all good is in Your hand of power, and every good is from You, for You, and returns to You. Whatever word I have said, or deed I have done, or vow I have made, or oath I have sworn, Your will precedes the occurrence of all of it; whatever You will happens, and whatever You do not will can never happen. The resolve to avoid sins and the strength to do good are not possible without You; indeed You have perfect power over all things. O Allah, whomever I have prayed for (with mercy), let it be for the one upon whom You have bestowed mercy, and whomever I have cursed, let it fall on the one whom You have cursed. You are my Protector in this world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous [Surah Yusuf: 101])."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad (7188); Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam in its chain is a weak narrator, but some words of the du'a are established by other authentic hadith.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate with these words in the morning and the evening: "'Allahumma inni as'aluka min faj'ati al-khayr, wa a'udhu bika min faj'ati al-sharr' (O Allah, I ask You for the good that comes suddenly, and I seek refuge in You from the evil and calamity that strike suddenly), for the servant does not know what situation may suddenly befall him when he reaches the morning or the evening."
In the chain of this narration Yusuf bin Atiyyah al-Basri is a weak narrator, on account of which this hadith is weak in its chain.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "When a servant of Allah recites this du'a in the morning: 'Allahumma anta rabbi la sharika lak, wa asbahtu wa asbaha al-mulku lillah, la sharika lah' (O Allah, You are my Lord, You have no partner; I have reached the morning, and the whole universe and dominion have reached the morning for Allah, who has no partner), then whenever a servant says these words in the morning and the evening, Allah Almighty expiates for him all the sins he committed in the interval between these two times; or the narrator said, with doubt, these words: the sins he incurred between them."
Imam Musaddad transmitted this narration in his Musnad. One narrator in its chain (a man from al-Nakha') is unknown or unidentified; however, in its meaning it agrees with other reliable adhkar.
