Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: On the day of the Battle of Uhud a man from among us was martyred. A stone was found tied to his stomach, which had been tied there because of hunger. His mother, wiping the dust from his face, said: "O my son! Congratulations to you on Paradise." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How do you know? Perhaps he used to speak about things that did not concern him, and to withhold things (the giving of which) would have caused him no harm." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Al-Tirmidhi recorded part of this narration.
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains Yahya bin Ya'la al-Aslami, and he is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I warn you against idle talk. It is enough for any one of you to speak as much as conveys his need.

Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abd al-Rahman bin Amr bin Jabalah, and he is matruk (abandoned).
