Words that a person considers insignificant

Shutayr bin Shakal, Zufar, Silah bin Zufar and Sulayk bin Mishal narrate: Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) came out to us while we were talking, and he said: "You people utter speech which, in the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to count as hypocrisy."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that Layth bin Abi Sulaym is a mudallis.

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah said: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a man would sometimes say something by which he would become a hypocrite, and now I hear such speech from one of you ten times in a single gathering.

In one narration the words are: Four times (I hear it).
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abu al-Ruqad al-Juhani, whom I do not know; the remaining narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A man says something, and because of it he will keep falling into Hell for so many and so many years."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its chain contains narrators whom I do not know.

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this as a marfu' hadith: (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) "A man says something by which he intends nothing harmful; he only intends to make some people laugh with it. Yet because of it he will fall (into Hell from a height) greater than the distance of the sky."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy despite weakness in some of them.

Sayyidah Amah bint Abi al-Hakam al-Ghifariyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "A man draws near to Paradise until only the distance of one cubit (that is, the length from the elbow to the tip of the longest finger) remains between him and Paradise; then he says something because of which he becomes farther from Paradise than the distance (from here) to San'a."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih except Muhammad bin Ishaq, who has been declared trustworthy.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) states: "A man says something to make the people sitting with him laugh; he does not return home with anything from it, yet because of that word he will fall from a height greater than the distance from the sky to the earth."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Wahhab bin Raja', whom I do not know; the remaining narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
