Hadith Takhrij«اخرجه البزار فى المسند (2759) ، أخرجه مسند أحمد برقم: 18704»
Sayyiduna Ja'far bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When we came to the Negus and then intended to return, he provided us with mounts, gave us provisions for the journey and gave us other things, and then said: "Tell your master about the way I have treated you. These envoys of mine are with you. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah Almighty and that he is the Messenger of Allah. Tell him to pray for my forgiveness."
Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We left him and travelled until we reached Madinah. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met me, he embraced me and said: "I do not know whether I am more delighted by the conquest of Khaybar or by the arrival of Ja'far." Then he sat down, and the envoy of the Negus stood up and said: "Here is Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him); ask him how our master treated them." Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "He did such and such for us; he gave us mounts and provisions for the journey, and he bore witness that there is no god but Allah Almighty and that you are the Messenger of Allah, and he said: 'Tell him to pray for my forgiveness.'" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made this supplication three times: "O Allah! Forgive the Negus!" And the Muslims said Amin to it. Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said to the envoy: "Now go and tell your master what you have seen of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Asad bin Amr and Mujalid bin Sa'id; more than one scholar has declared them both thiqah (trustworthy) and a group has declared them both da'if (weak), and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Negus passed away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pray for the forgiveness of your brother!" Some people said: "He is telling us to pray for his forgiveness although he died in the land of Abyssinia!" So this verse was revealed concerning it:
"Among the People of the Book there are some who believe in Allah, and in what has been sent down to you, and in what has been sent down to them."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat with two chains; in one of the two he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pray for mercy for him."
A narration has already passed in the Book of Funerals, in the chapter on the funeral prayer in absentia, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy); this chain contains narrators whom I do not know.
Some hadith have already passed in the Book of Funerals; and Allah knows best.
