Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16187

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ : نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ : " وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ تَرَى أَعْيُنَهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ " . قَالَ : نَزَلَتْ فِي النَّجَاشِيِّ وَأَصْحَابِهِ .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ بَحْرٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: This verse was revealed:
"When they hear what has been sent down to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears."
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: This verse was revealed about the Negus and his companions.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Muhammad bin Uthman bin Bahr al-Uqayli, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
