بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي النَّجَاشِيِّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ -

Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16188

وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : لَمَّا مَاتَ النَّجَاشِيُّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اسْتَغْفِرُوا لِأَخِيكُمْ " . فَقَالَ بَعْضُ النَّاسِ : يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نَسْتَغْفِرَ لَهُ وَقَدْ مَاتَ بِأَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ ، فَنَزَلَتْ : " وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَمَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ " الْآيَةَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ ، أَحَدُهُمَا قَالَ فِيهِ : " صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ " .
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ فِي الْجَنَائِزِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْغَائِبِ ، وَرِجَالُهَا ثِقَاتٌ ، وَفِي هَذِهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ أَحَادِيثُ فِي الْجَنَائِزِ . وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ ، أَحَدُهُمَا قَالَ فِيهِ : " صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ " .
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ فِي الْجَنَائِزِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْغَائِبِ ، وَرِجَالُهَا ثِقَاتٌ ، وَفِي هَذِهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ أَحَادِيثُ فِي الْجَنَائِزِ . وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Negus passed away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pray for the forgiveness of your brother!" Some people said: "He is telling us to pray for his forgiveness although he died in the land of Abyssinia!" So this verse was revealed concerning it:
"Among the People of the Book there are some who believe in Allah, and in what has been sent down to you, and in what has been sent down to them."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat with two chains; in one of the two he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pray for mercy for him."
A narration has already passed in the Book of Funerals, in the chapter on the funeral prayer in absentia, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy); this chain contains narrators whom I do not know.
Some hadith have already passed in the Book of Funerals; and Allah knows best.
