Abu Ishaq narrates: I went with my father to the Friday prayer when I was a boy. When Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came out and ascended the pulpit, my father said to me: O Amr, get up and look at the Commander of the Believers. The narrator says: I got up and saw that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was standing on the pulpit. The hair of his beard and head was white. He was wearing a waist-wrap and a cloak, and there was no shirt on his body. The narrator says: I did not see him sit on the pulpit until he came down. I asked Abu Ishaq: Did he recite the qunut? He replied: No.
