Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Do not ask a need of a blind person (that is, do not present your need before him), and do not present a need at night. When you present a need, face the person in front of you, for modesty lies in the eyes. And present your need in the early part of the day, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, bless my Ummah in its early mornings!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Amr bin Masawir, who is da'if (weak).
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek good with those of handsome faces."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Umar bin Suhban, who is matruk (abandoned).
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever Allah Almighty has granted a handsome face and a good name, and has placed in a position free of disgrace, that person is Allah Almighty's chosen one among His creation." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: A poet said: "You match the condition stated by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Seek good with those of handsome faces!'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Khalaf bin Khalid al-Basri, who is da'if (weak).
Mujahid narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both)
this report, and I think he narrated it as a marfu' hadith: "Seek good with those of handsome faces!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abdullah bin Khirash bin Hawshab, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), saying: he sometimes erred; others declared him da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek your needs with those of handsome faces (that is, seek the means of having those needs fulfilled)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Talhah bin Amr, who is matruk (abandoned).
Yazid bin Khusayfah narrates from his father, from his grandfather, this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Seek good with people of handsome faces!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it as a report of Yahya bin Yazid bin Abd al-Malik al-Nawfali from his father, and both of them are da'if (weak).
Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek good with people of handsome faces!"
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its chain contains narrators whom I do not know.
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek good with the merciful people of my Ummah, and live under their shelter! Do not seek that good with those whose hearts are hard, for they await my displeasure."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Muhammad bin Marwan al-Suddi al-Saghir, who is matruk (abandoned).
