Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would take a good omen, but he would not take a bad omen, and he liked a good name.
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is da'if (weak) without being a liar.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Shikhkhir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked a man's name and it was good, the pleasure could be recognised in his face; and if it was otherwise, he disliked it. When he halted at a town, he would ask its name. If its name was good, he was pleased with that, and if it was otherwise (that is, bad), that could be seen in his face.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Sa'id bin Bashir, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but has some weakness.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Among the rights of the child upon the father is that the father give him a good name and raise him with good manners."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Abdullah bin Sa'id al-Maqburi, who is matruk (abandoned).

It is reported from him that he narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you send a messenger to me, send someone whose face is good and whose name is good."
Imam al-Bazzar and Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it. The chain of Imam al-Tabarani contains Umar bin Rashid, whom al-Ijli declared thiqah (trustworthy) while the majority of the imams declared him da'if (weak). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy), and the route of Imam al-Bazzar is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Ya'ish al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for a she-camel and asked: "Who will milk her?" A man said: "I will." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your name?" He said: "Murrah (meaning: bitter)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sit down." Then another man stood up. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your name?" He said: "Murrah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sit down." Then another man stood up. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your name?" He replied: "Jamrah (meaning: an ember)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sit down." Then Sayyiduna Ya'ish (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your name?" He replied: "Ya'ish." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Milk her."

Hadith Takhrij«اخرجه الطبراني فى المعجم الكبير (277/22)»
Sayyiduna Abu Hadrad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Who will drive these camels of ours?" (The narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are:) "Who will take our camels (to their destination)?" A man stood up. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is your name? He replied: So-and-so. He said: Sit down. Then another man stood up and said: I will do it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What is your name? He replied: Najiyah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You will do this task; take them.
Al-Tabarani recorded it through Ahmad bin Bashir from his paternal uncle, and I have not found any jarh (criticism) or ta'dil (accreditation) regarding either of them. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
