بَابٌ فِي أَهْلِ الْمَعْرُوفِ وَأَهْلِ الْمُنْكَرِ .

عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، إِنَّ الْمَعْرُوفَ وَالْمُنْكَرَ لَخَلِيقَتَانِ يُنْصَبَانِ لِلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ . فَأَمَّا الْمَعْرُوفُ فَيُبَشِّرُ أَصْحَابَهُ وَيُوعِدُهُمُ الْخَيْرَ . وَأَمَّا الْمُنْكَرُ فَيَقُولُ : إِلَيْكُمْ إِلَيْكُمْ ، وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُ إِلَّا لُزُومًا " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، وَرَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, good and evil are two kinds of creation that will be set up for the people on the Day of Resurrection. As for good, it will give glad tidings to its people and promise them good. As for evil, it will say: Keep away! Keep away! And they will remain clinging to it."
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih;

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا هُمْ أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، وَأَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ خَازِمٌ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : مَجْهُولٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who do good in this world will be the people of good in the Hereafter, and those who do evil in this world will be the people of evil in the Hereafter."

وَعَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ بُرْمَةَ الْأَسَدِيِّ قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، وَأَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : هُوَ صَدُوقٌ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ تَرَكَ حَدِيثَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّهُ يَتَوَقَّفُ فِي الْقُرْآنِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
Sayyiduna Qabisah bin Burmah al-Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day I was sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I heard him say: "Those who do good in this world will be the people of good in the Hereafter, and those who do evil in this world will be the people of evil in the Hereafter."
Al-Tabarani and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Ali bin Abi Hashim, about whom Abu Hatim said: He is saduq (truthful), but his hadith was abandoned because he used to withhold judgement regarding the Qur'an; its chain also contains a narrator whom I do not know.

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، وَأَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ ، فِي أَحَدِهِمَا يَحْيَى بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الرَّقِّيُّ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ وَلَا وَلَدَهُ أَحْمَدَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، وَفِي الْأَخِيرِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنُ وَاضِحٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : يُخْطِئُ كَثِيرًا ، فَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ .

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat with two chains. One chain contains Yahya bin Khalid bin Hayyan al-Raqqi, and I do not know him, nor his son Ahmad; the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. The other contains al-Musayyab bin Wadih, about whom Abu Hatim said: He makes many mistakes, and when he is alerted to a mistake, he does not retract.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people of good in this world will be the people of good in the Hereafter, and the people of evil in this world will be the people of evil in the Hereafter."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; the chain of al-Kabir contains Abdullah bin Harun al-Farwi, who is da'if (weak), and the other contains Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is a mudallis.

وَعَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، وَإِنَّ أَهْلَ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَهْلُ الْمُنْكَرِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ هِشَامُ بْنُ لَاحِقٍ ، تَرَكَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَقَوَّاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people of good in this world will be the people of good in the Hereafter, and the people of evil in this world will be the people of evil in the Hereafter."

وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الدُّنْيَا هُمْ أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، وَإِنَّ أَوَّلَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ دُخُولًا الْجَنَّةَ أَهْلُ الْمَعْرُوفِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people of good in this world are the very ones who will be the people of good in the Hereafter, and of the people of Paradise, the first to enter Paradise will be the people of good."

وَعَنْ دُرَّةَ ابْنَةِ أَبِي لَهَبٍ قَالَتْ : قَامَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ : " خَيْرُ النَّاسِ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ وَأَتْقَاهُمْ وَآمَرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَأَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَأَوْصَلُهُمْ لِلرَّحِمِ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَهَذَا لَفَظَهُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَزَادَ : قَالَتْ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ ، فَجِيءَ بِرَجُلٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَأَنَّهُ نَادَاهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَتْ : فَأَتَى الرَّجُلُ فَأُخِذَ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَيْسَ لِي ذَنْبٌ أَمَرَنِي فُلَانٌ ، وَالْبَاقِي بِنَحْوِهِ . وَرِجَالُهُمَا ثِقَاتٌ ، وَفِي بَعْضِهِمْ كَلَامٌ لَا يَضُرُّ .
Sayyidah Durrah bint Abi Lahab (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A man stood up before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was on the pulpit, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Who is the best of people? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of people is the one who is most learned, most God-fearing, most enjoining of good, most forbidding of evil, and most keeping of the ties of kinship."
Ahmad recorded it, and these are his words; al-Tabarani also recorded it and added these words: "She said: I was with Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) when a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and called out to him loudly while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on the pulpit, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Who is the best of people? She said: A man came who had been seized, and he said: O Messenger of Allah! I have committed no sin; so-and-so told me to do it." The rest of the narration is as before.
