Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Surah al-Baqarah is the hump of the Qur'an and its summit. With every single verse of it eighty angels descended, and Ayat al-Kursi was brought out from beneath the Throne and joined to Surah al-Baqarah. And Surah Ya-Sin is the heart of the Qur'an; whoever recites it seeking (the reward of) Allah Almighty and the Hereafter will be forgiven. Recite it over your deceased (or over those close to death)."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of it is transmitted in Sunan Abi Dawud.
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator who is not named; the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
Al-Tabarani also recorded it, and he dropped the mention of the unnamed (mubham) narrator.
