Abd al-Rahman bin A'idh narrates: Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about leeks and onions, and he said: "After the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade it, I will not eat onions."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Sadaqah bin Abdullah al-Samin, whom Duhaym and Abu Hatim declared thiqah (trustworthy), while the majority declared him da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Every girl (received as a slave-woman from the spoils of war) who is pregnant is unlawful for her owner until she gives birth to what is in her womb; every donkey on which loads are carried, its meat is unlawful; and garlic is unlawful." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared garlic lawful, but he ordered whoever eats it "not to come to the mosque until its smell, which causes harm, has gone; whoever has eaten it should not come near the mosque."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Yahya bin Abdullah al-Babalti, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to eat garlic and said: "Were it not that the angel descends upon me, I would have eaten it too."
Al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat) recorded it. Its chain contains Habbah bin Juwayn al-Urani, whom the majority declared da'if (weak), while al-Ijli declared him thiqah (trustworthy).

Muhammad bin Sirin narrates: Garlic would be cleaned for Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and strung on a thread; then it would be put into the broth along with the thread, taken out of it along with the thread and set aside, and then the broth would be eaten.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). Hadiths of this kind have already passed before this in the chapter on mosques within the chapter on prayer.
