One who gives a gift and then inherits it

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from the Ansar gave his mother a garden of date palms as a gift for her lifetime. She died, and his brothers came and said: We are equal shareholders in it. The man refused, and they took their dispute to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) divided that garden among them as inheritance. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Abu Dawud recorded it without this wording.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, I gave my mother a garden as a gift during her lifetime. She has died, and she left no heir other than me? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, and the narrator says: I think the wording is: "Allah Almighty has returned your garden to you and has accepted your charity."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).

Sinan bin Maslamah narrates: A man from the Muhajirun gave a large piece of land of his to his mother as charity. She died, and she had no heir other than him. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: My mother, so-and-so, was the most beloved and most dear of people to me. I gave her a large piece of land as charity; she has died, and she has no heir other than me. So what do you instruct me? What should I do with this land? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has made your reward certain and has returned your land to you; now do whatever you wish."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, everything I have is charity, except this horse of mine. The man had some land; the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took possession of that land and began distributing it among the needy. His mother and father came and said: O Messenger of Allah, give us something to eat from what our son gave in charity; we have nothing, and we too go about with the poor. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took that land and returned it to the two of them. When they both died, their son, who had given that land in charity, became its heir. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, my charity which I had given, and which you handed over to my parents: now they have both died and I have become their heir, so is that land lawful for me? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, enjoy it with a happy heart."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and the narrator Ishaq bin Yahya did not meet Sayyiduna Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Bashir bin Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Zayd, who narrated the report about the adhan from his father, narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) gave some property in charity; he had no property other than it, and he and his children lived on it. He handed that property over to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). His father came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, Abdullah bin Zayd has given his property in charity, and it was the very property on which he lived. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called Abdullah bin Zayd and said: "Allah Almighty has accepted your charity and has returned this property to your parents as inheritance." The narrator Bashir says: So we became heirs to that land.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. I have not found anyone who wrote a biography of this narrator Bashir; the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, all my wealth is charity. The narrator says: His mother and father became poor and sat among the needy. Then they both came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, our son had the most land among the Ansar; he gave his wealth (that is, his land) in charity and we became needy, to the point that we sit among the needy. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your son's charity will come back to you." Then they both died, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent word to their son: "Return the charity, for charity is not passed on through inheritance, and it is not given as an umra (lifetime gift)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Farwah, who is matruk (abandoned).
