Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from the Ansar gave his mother a garden of date palms as a gift for her lifetime. She died, and his brothers came and said: We are equal shareholders in it. The man refused, and they took their dispute to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) divided that garden among them as inheritance. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Abu Dawud recorded it without this wording.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
