Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: During the journey of Hajj, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed through the valley of Usfan, and he asked: "O Abu Bakr, which valley is this?" Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "O Messenger of Allah, this is the valley of Usfan." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sayyiduna Hud (peace be upon him) and Sayyiduna Salih (peace be upon him) passed through here riding red young camels whose halters were made of palm fibre. Their lower garments were cloaks ('aba'), and over them they wore woollen wraps. They were reciting the talbiyah and going to perform Hajj of the Ancient House."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Zam'ah bin Salih, about whom there has been criticism, though he has also been declared trustworthy.

They were barefoot, wearing cloaks ('aba'), and heading for the Ancient House of Allah."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir) recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Yazid al-Raqashi, about whom there has been criticism.

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seventy prophets have passed barefoot by the rock at al-Rawha', wearing cloaks ('aba'), heading for the Ancient House of Allah; among them was the Prophet of Allah, Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him)."
Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Sa'id bin Maysarah, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) performed Hajj on a red ox, wearing a Qatawani cloak."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain). The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat) recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Ata' bin al-Sa'ib, who suffered from confusion (ikhtilat).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: On the Day of Arafah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out from Mina. When his mount rose up with him, there was on that camel a cloth that had been bought for four dirhams. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: "O Allah, make it a Hajj in which there is no showing off and no desire for reputation."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Ahmad bin Muhammad bin al-Qasim bin Abi Bazzah, whom I do not know.
